I spent 15 minutes completing a form on the website for a "free" template, I don't consider it free as it asks for your card details and is signing you up to a subscription that has a 7-day cancellation period.I don't think this is good business practice and would therefore not recommend working with this company, I think if a company advertises something as free and does not highlight sufficiently in advance that it is only free after you provide card details and sign up for a membership then there may be other important terms that are not highlighted sufficiently for an average user to be made aware.

I have used this site twice, for a power of attorney document a year ago, and a tenancy agreement last week.Both times the documents have been tailored to my requirements according to UK law. The first time I forgot to cancel the free 7days offer, and paid a fee, I saw this on my bank account and cancelled without any problem.The second time it was marked up on the calendar and I cancelled on day 6.Yes they could make an effort to warn me my free trail is coming to an end, but that is not in their interest.So, this is not a 'scam' per se, they provide a good service for online legal documents and the terms of the Free Trail are not hidden...but you need to be on your toes and it is obviously very frustrating/expensive if you get distracted hence the majority of negative reviews.A good source for tailored online legal documents but if you want to use their "1week free" offer then put a big sticker on the mirror/front door/forehead to cancel in time.
AVOID AVOID AVOIDIf I could give NO stars I would. CROOKS CROOKS CROOKS CROOKS I have literally just signed up for a year, paid the fee (£60) and got nothing for. All in order to get a contract printed. Tried calling them. No joy. They didn’t sign me up to associate my membership payment with so my fee is in limbo. I have my card receipt by no members mail. Just on the phone now to credit card company to report FRAUD. And also to cancel the card. ABSOLUTE JOKE. Do not deal with this company !
Fantastic online generators!Had no problem creating documents and loan projections etc.Loses 1 star because of some terminology seems a bit American to me, it's a US company I think.Had no problem with the free trial.I don't understand all the negative reviews, which initially stopped me using Lawdepot, but couldn't find anything as automated, so came again, glad I did. I will use them again for some employment contracts I need.
150 lighter due to card charges dating back months from this company due to a subscription I opted out of the same day I used it- absolute daylight robbery and I used one document. This scam company rely on your card details when you sign up so they can continue to take £29 a month for a service you used once in a day! I have only just noticed 6 months on - I feel sick 🤒I did cancel the same day I used the service and your terms and conditions state the following: *We will refund subscriptions up to the value of £100.00 *Each document costs a maximum of £39.00 The footprint on this site shows I visited one time in August, yet you took the following payments£29.00 August September October November December = £145 for a document worth £39.00 How can it be £5.00 per month subscription yet £29.00 a month if you don't cancel the same week you start it? I suggest your "cancel" button failed me and you rely on this to build your equity to make your business profitable. I also want to know why you can retain a persons card details and not provide them with a receipt to their registered email so I would have seen this sooner! So I have paid over £100 for a document worth £39.00 I will be seeking legal advice on this as well as reporting you to your local trading standards office, just because it's legal does not make it any less of a scam - it's scandalous and disgusting! How do you people sleep at night.
Did a free trial Tenancy Agreement. Simple and straightforward. I did several versions of the document as I wasn't quite sure which one was most appropriate to our particular circumstances. No problem saving and downloading all the documents. Seems nearly all the complaints are from those that didn't read the terms regarding automatic billing after 7 days if they didn't cancel the subscription. Caveat emptor! I never had to give credit card details - I selected Paypal, so I am further protected should there ever be any "issues".Yes, I would use them again, and would be happy to pay for their services.
They get their money by getting people to sign up, enter card details and then after 1 week (!) start billing you, no warning, no email, no scruples and this must be by design, this is their business model, nothing illegal, but who wants to do business with something like that.. I asked for a refund after having thought I had cancelled (apparently i hadnt) they started collecting money from my card. I politely asked for refund, and got the usual 'if you had read the terms and conditions' etc. This company is not about looking after customers, I asked if they could refund even some of the payments and the answer is no. So no more custom from me, ever, and hopefully this review will warn others to STAY AWAY!
