cancelled free trial - they then billed me 3 months later for £29...I didn't see until they billed me again the month after for another £29 at which point cancelled the monthly amount they were taking for themselves from my bank...After initially opening the case against them Paypal closed it saying they couldn't refund as it was an automatic payment (even though I hadn't authorised it) had the most unhelpful paypal person tell me there was nothing I could do. After calling back 10 minutes later, I reopened the refund case this time under fraud (instead of unauthorised transaction) - I received money back in less than 24 hours.
Unbelievable. Rude and I am fuming that your system has continued charging me after visiting your website and cancelling my subscription a long time ago but yet I have been charged since. It obviously didn't cancel at your end and you are unwilling to send a refund for this malfunction within your system. Shocking customer service.
I have used this site several times for leases I needed to create and use. Honestly, the leases are great and I did ask a lawyer if these documents are any good, including any changes they allow and suggest. Answer I was given: Yes, they are good as long as you stay within the boundary of the wording they suggest. This is a great tool when you need something common done with little personal changes, like a rental agreement, lease riders etc. However, the more complicated the request the more you will need a live lawyer to ensure all is well. My only negative is that the pricing plan is not really all that good. As a returning customer I don't want to pay for an annual service when I only need one new document every few years.They really need a deal for returning customers that need small changes say $20-$30 a month renewal, but not limit it to just one document. I would gladly pay that instead of the annual fee (yes it could cost more annually, but for just a month or two of access, reasonable) this way I would not mind to reactivating my account for a month or two when I need access instead of paying for an annual access, I really don't need year-round. But hey, that's just my two cents as I think it would make a better business model. As for the “free” well, nothing is free. You just get a 7-day trial, which I honestly cancelled my first time and paid the $30 for access to my one document I needed for the year. Reasonable considering the price of a lawyer’s these days and I just needed the one document.
Signed up and cancelled the same day, (within the 7 day trial period) only to have my card charged £29. Customer support offered no specific apology and showed no empathy or understanding - they simply said in very dry terms that "no refunds are available at this time" whatever that means. Have now removed my debit card from my Lawdepot account so hopefully this stops further charges. Edit: Initiated a chargeback via my bank and was successfully refunded the funds (from my bank). I received no apology from LawDepot. Also, in my final interaction with LawDepot about this matter, I received an email from them which was identical to their previous message - an exact copy and paste robotic, 'couldn't care less' piece of text. Totally laughable customer service, they need to be held accountable for this exceptionally poor business practice and initiating a chargeback via my bank at least means they will be brought to the attention of the people that may be able to do something about it.
I used the free trial on this site which was very easy and straightforward to make a document personalised to myself. After the free trial I forgot to cancel and was charged £29. I went on to live chat and explained this and they refunded me straight away with no hassle.
