As a long-time member, I was shocked to discover my account was closed during my visit. I traveled 20 minutes to buy supplies for a charity event, only to be turned away. The staff member's attitude was unwelcoming and dismissive, which was very frustrating.
This company is utterly disappointing. They hire unmotivated staff, leading to late deliveries and missing items. Customer care is more focused on placating customers rather than resolving issues. Delivery personnel often fail to deliver to agreed locations, and the management's incompetence is evident. It’s a shame for anyone associated with such poor practices.
Kirby Liverpool the staff are very helpful and go out their way to help you,at one time it was a day out shopping for clothes TV washing machine Nick Nacks and finish it with a coffee in the cafe all gone the once great store is no more just food.
I hadn't been (to the Edinburgh branch) for years and so needed to update my membership card from its Makro days. The man was very helpful and informative and even got me a shopping trolley, as there aren't many in the shop to use. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of foods, drinks and household items available.
Parked in a Disabled bay & my blue badge was displayed in the side window before we visited the store in Reading then we received a parking invoice from a company called G24 who alledged we parked without displaying a blue badge.I appealed this invoice & sent G24 proof of my blue badge & copy of our invoice for our shopping in the store.The invoice was for £100 or reduced to £60 if payed in a certain time.I think its very unfair of makro to allow there customers to be treated this way when they are spending money in there store.GOOD RIDDENCE MAKRO.
Visited Washington Makro this afternoon. Was last there around two months ago, scanned in, staff helped us scan in etc but we didn't buy on that day.Returned today, scanned in and was refused because 'you've not been since 2021'. I said over and over again I had been, I explained the time I had been previously and then they TOOK MY CARD OFF ME and refused to give it back.Manager eventually came past after the team leader had insulted me saying 'listen, love' to which I grew angry.They made me feel like a criminal when I was totally innocent. This used to be a wonderful shop but I will not be spoken to like this, and to be called 'love' by some unpleasant jobsworth was a step too far. NEEDS CLOSING DOWN OR A STAFF OVERHAUL. They tried to claim I lied when they were at fault for letting me in two months ago. I'm now looking to get the CCTV of when they allowed me to scan in, but since they took my card off me this will be troublesome.Thank god for Costco, who will continue getting my custom from now on.
Living opposite Makro in Charlton is pure hell. Their alarms constantly go off, day and night, and their lorry drivers couldn't care less about the residents trying to sleep or work from home. We've raised issues with management and have been ignored while the noise continues. We've had to resort to taking it further and contacting our local council so we're able to get some peace and quiet! (Hopefully!) Utter shambles. How hard is to turn off an alarm or silence your reversing beep?!
Makro used to have good organic and free range eggs. But no more, it's full of bad tasteless battery factory eggs. Same goes for the chicken, bad quality force fed factory hens. They don't mind thay are happy, profits are all they care about. And the buying public don't have a clue and they get sick on poor diets.
