Called up as had a query as to whether my Makro card would be valid at the Greenwich store as was down for work.Lady on the phone VERY rude and abrupt.Went in anyway and queued behind an old man wanting a refund. Presumably the staff member (said Annette on her badge) was the same as the lady I had the misfortune of speaking to on the phone. Couldn’t believe the way she spoke to him! Very very unprofessional and rude as! She definitely needs some customer service training. She was also super rude to a lovely lady who requested to use the toilet before signing in.Fortunately for me (and her, as if she’d served me I’d have asked to speak to her manager to complain) another really helpful lady call Lin who didn’t have an attitude problem, came, listened to my query and sorted me out a pass.A shout out should also go to the cheery man on the checkout who was great! Annette needs to learn from her colleagues about the importance of customer service.
so why is a child under the age of 16 any more a covid risk than anyone else??????? what a stupid pathetic rule!!! makro truly have got themselves an utterly clueless bunch of H&S advisors...cinemas, shops, airports, hotels, ( and the list goes on) dont victimise so why should makro.. my daughter doesnt want to go back and tbh neither will I
I have just tried to shop at Makro Croydon, only to be told I cannot take my 5 year old daughter in the shop with me as under 16's were no longer permitted due to coronavirus. However walking behind the manager in the store were two young people whom and in the Managers words 'possibly may not be 16' but they asked the parent and the mother claimed they were. When I asked if the obvious children had proof of their age, I was told they had asked the mother and that was enough. So because my child was 5 she, in my opinion had been excluded from the shop. However if your child is tall enough and under 16 you can go in???? sorry but this is clear victimisation and why are makro enforcing this when other large retailers are allowing children? When I asked the manger I was told he didn't really know what the full explanation was and that it was just on the risk assessment from Head Office. Makro what is the point of issuing risk assessments if your staff clearly have no idea what information they are receiving and for what reason??
Disgusting chicken breasts. slimey tasting even after beating and grilling them practically to death. I've tried several pieces from different parts of this 10kg box and they are all the same. Not off but they have a horrible 'uncooked' in the mouth feel even after repeated battering and burning. Damien at Makro Fareham says it's my fault.......ps they were properly stored at all times
I've shopped at various Makro stores across the globe and hadn't realised tgey were here in the UK. So super excited, I set out only to be refused entry because I hadn't registered. That was fine, I know a few companies require registration first, but Makro wouldn't let me register because I class as general public and they are only open to trade? Huh? Makes no sense. Why should the UK rules be different for the same company. Left really displeased. Thumbs down for me
Tried to buy items today that i needed for my buisness. Only to be told i could not enter because i had a 9 month old in a pram with me. I feel victimized for being a mother!!. Schools are re-opening atm its ok to shop at a supermarket but not at makro!! What a pharse aslong as your obeying the 2m distance rule whats the problem.
I placed on order online (Order # 2559227) on 27 May 2020, battled for half an hour to pay them, only to discover the next day that 2 items were out of stock and that they took it upon themselves to mark it as "cancelled" MAK2552997 (by the sound of things this is the norm, or are the CRM managers maybe wondering why so many customers are cancelling parts of their orders?). What peeved me was the fact that they took the full amount from my credit card and only notified me the next day that there was no stock! They promised to refund me within 7 days, but from what I'm hearing, I am going to have to kiss my refund goodbye... All good and well if they refund me, but in the mean time I'm paying extra interest FOR 7 DAYS on an amount on my credit card which could have been avoided by having items marked as out of stock WHILE YOU BROWSE (like all other online shops do) or notifying me at checkout BEFORE taking payment for it (like all other online shops do)! Then this morning I receive an e-mail from them saying that my goods have been transferred to the courier service and that they "will send me an e-mail on the day that they will deliver it to my home" - clearly implying that it will not be today. Without receiving any sms, the couriers arrived unannounced at my home while I was in the shops for my 2-weekly provision run. I have an autoimmune disease which makes me more prone to catch virusses so I'm actually still under lockdown but have no one else to go in my place - hence only 2 weekly outings of no more than an hour. I had to RACE back home, only to have the courier person insist I COMPLETE AN ENTIRE FORM USING A PEN, NOTING MY ADDRESS, FULL NAMES, ID NUMBER AND DATE AND SIGNATURE.YOU MUST BE JOKING?! I reluctantly signed my signature with my own pen whilst the driver was holding the clipboard for me as best he could at 1.5metres... I then receive the package and Makro's idea of "safe wrapping for transport purposes" involves wrapping a heater haphazardly along with 2 safety goggles with CELLOPHANE (that's right: "Glad Wrap"!!) into a 30L black tote! No bubble wrap, no air-cushions, no polystyrene, NOTHING! I'm disgusted!Seriously, MAKRO: You were supposed to have this online thing down by now, don't you think? It's strange that items not marked as essential items under level 5 mysteriously ran out on the online website... Where did the stock go if you weren't allowed to sell it in-store or online, MAKRO? I suppose you just sent it back to your warehouse, huh?
Was desperate to use the toilet the lady at counter said if your not a member you can’t enter. How can you speak good about something if you can’t even enter to use a toilet. I could of been a potential new customer after coming out from there if they aloud me to use the toilet. Won’t be shopping or joining Makro.
I have been a longstanding Makro member and for the first time today I went to the Fareham branch. I was told I could not shop there as I haven't registered there before and was then sent packing by a very loud ingnorant senior staff member. I don't mind being sent away and given the current problems I can understand this, but she spoke to me like I was something she just scraped off her shoes.Ive heard for friends that Fareham I probably the worse of all macro store and now i totally believe them. all she had to do was explain in a civil manner and that would have been good enough for me.I will not be shopping there again and I'm now considering giving up my membership to mark completely and I spend a lot of money there thought the year.she better hope that she doesn't need my help one day!!!!
