Do NOT buy a Surface, they only guarantee it will work for 1 year

I purchased a Surface Pro 8 and after 2 years one of the magnetic points corroded and disintegrated meaning a typecover can no longer be used. Microsoft will only do a paid repair on this and has basically said that anything that goes wrong with an item of hardware after their 1-year warranty is up needs to be paid for. My point is that a £1k laptop should last for more than 2 years and if something corrodes then it's a manufacturing issue NOT wear and tear. Do your research about how robust these computers are because Microsoft thinks they are disposable after a year.Customer service takes a week to reply and will just copy and paste the same answer over and over again so it can take months to resolve an issue, in my case my issue hasn't been resolved.

Days of my life I will never get back and still no help!

For 2 weeks I have been unable to access my 365 account at all. I simply cannot log in. 8 hours of phone calls, at least 10 different staff members, I can't even make a formal complaint because, to make a complaint, you have to log into your account (the irony isn't lost on me). I have now been on hold for over an hour after being transferred back to another team (I have spoken to at least 3 times already) and I honestly think they have, at this point, put me in a "do not answer" queue.

Microsoft makes me cry

Microsoft is the first software company that has ever brought a tear to my eye, in the bad way. Windows, apart from being paid spyware and adware, removes your Linux boot loader. This was a problem in Windows 10, and is still a problem in Windows 11. Thank god i have a beautiful girlfriend to comfort me or else i would have cried because it is simply too frustrating, too complicated, and too difficult to use this Microsoft product.

Terribly organised

I like their programmes. I hate their support systems.I was invited to join a family account - you'd think a clever computing company would put something in the system to ask if you wish to cancel your personal plan, or perhaps even just cancel it for you since it's redundant on a shared plan. This didn't happen, I kept being charged. They don't seem to have any sort of online chat and finding help is very difficult.

Microsoft now decides when we can use our computers

Windows update restarted all company computers at night. They had renders running for a project that had to be ready in the morning. All renders stopped, Autocad and 3ds files corrupted. Project is lost. They don't have IT stuff so they can't stop this. This is a thousandth example how Microsoft is stubborn to control our computers and decide when we can use them. World lost millions of workhours for their corporate greed and it is getting worse. Microsoft please kindly comment this.

The most unfriendly company I have ever…

The most unfriendly company I have ever encountered. Passwords seem to have to be changed every time I have to log in, security set up ponderous and painful, now can't log into one of my 3 outlook email accounts. Have tried 'Chat'. Instructed to wait for 8 minutes. 15 minutes later it's still 8 minutes. Microsoft must be responsible for an enormous amount of stress globally! Come on. get yourself together!

The biggest issue about them

The biggest issue about them - they are too annoying. They consider they own your private computer. They put the updates when and how they want. The word "privacy" means literally nothing to them!
