Got a flat tire driving down Interstate 90 from Cleveland to Buffalo on a Sunday afternoon. Got the donut on which wasn't going to last with two hours still to go to Buffalo. Started frantically calling tire places to see if anyone had a soul and might consider helping me 15 minutes before closing time. Most places said no thanks. Matt, the manager at the location on Peach Street however, answered the call! Without hesitation, he said "bring it on by." I showed up 10 minutes before closing time hoping they would just sell me a tire to get me where I was going. Instead, Matt and his colleague Paul dropped what they were doing to help a guy in need. They were able to plug the tire, saving me hundreds. To top it off, they also came out and put it on my car for me-something I surely wasn't expecting now that it was after closing time. If these guys don't come through like they did, I'm spending the night in Erie, missing an important doctor's appointment for my Dad in the morning and getting to Buffalo who knows when? I can't say enough how great these two guys were and how much their kindness meant to me. Thank you Matt and Paul!
I just relocated to Rhode Island and was in need of a Muffler Repair and Paul Scorpio and Scotty his Mechanic Could Not Have Been More Accommodating, Installed the two brackets that were necessary, and I was on my way! Quick and Easy!
Warning!!! Do not do business with this company. We had to contact NYS DMV to recover repair costs for damage done by Monroe Inc.They have now retaliated by notifying the IRS that the reimbursement check that they sent us was employment compensation or compensation paid as a self employed employee of Monroe Inc. I have had to contact the IRS to start an investigation as to why they issued a 1099-NEC to someone who has never been employed by their company.
First, I'd like to say the people working at the local monro were good people. After I got the bill and said no thanks, they said 'totally understand'. With that said, monro attempted to charge me 150 per ball joint, 226 for a tie rod end, and 233 per piece for control arms. Then they wanted to charge me 500 for labor for something they admitted would take one guy a half a day. Are you kidding? I just bought all of these part, and more, for 400 dollars from parts geek and Detroit axle. I can do the work myself for free... the total estimate was 1800 for 2 ball joints, 2 control arms, a tie rod end and an alignment. Get real.. I just saved myself 1400 by hanging out with my dad working on cars my whole life. Monro will be recieving no more of my money.
Where to start? First I chose the tires I wanted for vehicle, set up an appointment. Got to Monroe and was told they only had 3 of the ones I wanted and had to do all 4 for the special. Clerk mentioned an Black Friday special if I wanted a similar tire which includes a free alignment, I said okay. Clerk gave me the quote, then ordered them and had to reschedule. Come to the appt and after a half hr of waiting, the mechanic tells me they are the wrong tire. Wanted to charge me more for a tire I didn't want. Sneaky, did you think I would say yes? Nope told him put the old ones back on I'll go elsewhere. He did say he would order and I would still get the price as quoted previously. But as of now I'm pretty upset. Bait and switch as far as I'm concerned. This woman isn't biting, it better be made right. Will update once this service finally occurs. If what was promised is done, I can forgive.
We took my Wifes 2016 Jeep Cherokee there for service. The exhaust was getting louder. I found the flex pipe turning down from the manifold leaking. Your mechanic replaced the pipe, and all was well. A few months later the same pipe started leaking again. I called the store and was told that there had been some bad exhaust parts and that a new supplier is being used. He said to bring the car in on Monday for warranty replacement. On Tuesday at 4 pm my wife received a call from the store manager stating the repair would be $394.00 $50.00 more than the original repair yet the pipe was not supposed to be included. I went and picked up our car and am planning to take it to another shop for the repairs. I have copies of the original receipt and the new estimate if you would like to see them. Working in the service industry myself I know you will not be happing hearing that I will not only not use this shop for my service but will make it a priority to turn away any customers heading to Monroe. I did reach out to the district manager but still have received no return call. Truly disappointed,
My daughter brought her car to a Monro shop in the Robinson area. She was told that her entire exhaust system needed to be replaced and even pointed out supposed problems that would require the entire system to be replaced. The cost was $4,000 and they wanted a down payment to order parts. She contacted The Mitsubishi dealership and they also took a look at her vehicle. They told her under no circumstances did she need to replace the entire exhaust and while she waited they made the repair to her muffler Cost? $258 . Not a type O $258 . Think twice maybe 3 times before you let these people work on your car. This is blatant taking advantage of a customer
Shop 565Total cost of new rear brakes and rotors was 549. The right rear lower caliper bracket bolt was missing. The other bolt was loose.Monro installed all of my old hardware.I was missing two shims on the left rear side. There was plenty on lube on the bolts. No locktite was used. The rear driver side bolts were loose. The left rear upper guide pin was dry and no lube was used. All of the pad shims were not aligned to the pads. My local mechanic was in disbelief when seeing this. Stopped by to visit Ray the manager of shop 565. No “I’m sorry”, no responsibility. What a joke…
