Received a 100 dollar Mastercard gift card and I can’t use it ANYWHERE. They keep declining it and the issue isn’t from the merchants but rather myprepaidcenter declining it. It declines for payments of 5 DOLLARS!! Never use this, next time I’d rather get the money sent to my bank. Very frustrating and I just lost 100 dollars.IMPORTANT EDIT: They reach out and ask for identifying information; ID and some paper proving your name/address. I’ve sent my information and no response at all — it’s been 6 days. I URGE every person who has lost money from this company to write to the federal trade commission, which I will be doing if this doesn’t get solved. This is predatory practices, they are quite literally stalling until the funds expire to steal money. FINAL Edit:Issue got resolved and they unblocked my card. It seems like the best way to reach them is by writing a negative review. Good luck to anybody who deals with them in the future.
I didn't want this card. I was part of the JUUL class action lawsuit thing. I received funds, quite a bit but in the form of this scammy prepaid MC card. This card is very hard to use. You have to add it to your google, apple, or samsung wallet to use it. Even then, you are limited. The real reason for this review is not only are they impossible to get a hold of, but I have a trick which I will mention here shortly, but they have hidden fees every time you have a transaction. I have 8 transactions, and I am missing 14USD on top of this, the LYFT pending charges are still present days later, tying up funds, while it already posted in full. Removing those funds as well. The trick to talk to them on the phone is in the menu there are two optionos they have to talk to you for and well, just tell them the truth, you all hide and I don't want to go out of the country nor do I want to file a dispute. Those two menu options will patch you through to a live agent. They are 3P overseas. But, by law, this company operates in the US so they have to have at least 10% domestic agents. Which you can instantly request. I suggest everyone call them if you have a problem and use trick to get an agent. They are worthless still, but at least you know how to clap back a bit. At this point, I have about 5 dollars in missing money on top of these charges that have been sitting in pending mode for 3 days now while the actual fee already posted for the same rides. I received a $25 MasterCard debit card from Raymour & Flanigan. Followed the instructions to register and use the card, but it has been declined by every merchant I have tried to use it for, even the merchants featured on the myprepaidcenter website, which are supposed to give you 5% cash back on your purchases. Calling the customer service numbers listed on the card and website did not provide useful advice or a connection to a live customer service representative (even when given the option to choose " * " to reach a customer service rep) or any resources that could lead to any resolution. This has happened to me several times when I have tried to take advantage of merchant programs offering incentives or rebates in the form of debit credit cards. Moving forward, I will no longer respond to these types of promotions. I can only offer the details of my experience to others so they can hopefully avoid a similarly bad experience.
I got a prepaid Visa as a reward/incentive from my energy utility company.So far I've tried adding it to Apple Wallet, and making purchases through several online stores/services including well-known ones like Amazon and Steam. All have been declined.My assumption is that this company makes their cards intentionally nearly impossible to use so that they can keep the balance for themselves after it expires. Either that, or they're incompetent.I'll be writing the Federal Trade Commission about this.
I have been in contact with their support for almost 3 months now. The visa card does not work with any merchants, they take several days to respond, and are super unhelpful when they do. I would not recommend anyone to use this service
I redeemed my points on swagbucks.com for a $25 gift card. Swagbucks sent me to myprepaidcenter.com to activate my reward. When I tried that, I received the message "error on their side, contact customer service 866-815-3034". Their customer service rep told me myprepaidcenter.com has no record of redeeming rewards from swagbucks.com, they wouldn't honor the reward, and I had to contact swagbucks. All swagbucks did was send me instructions to redeem, which was different than the process I experienced, and told me to keep trying. It was futile to keep trying, because the same thing happened each time, but swagbucks did nothing to correct the situation. I also tried to create an account on myprepaidcenter.com. The form allows you to set up a password, but not a username, and when you try to login, they demand a username that you can't set up, so you can't login to their website, and that's futile too. Myprepaidcenter.com appears to be a scam website. Swagbucks.com used to be much better than this, and now swagbucks seems to be a scam also lately sometimes. I'm also going to file a report of this scam on ftc.gov about myprepaidcenter.com and swagbucks.com. *** Edit with new information - As of 10/30/24, Swagbucks has now kindly refunded my swagbucks I had redeemed to use on myprepaidcenter.com. So now, I don't need to continue to chase after my gift card at myprepaidcenter.com, and I'm back in my Happy Place again!!! I do wish the employees at myprepaidcenter.com well, and I hope your company will be able to iron out all issues for your customers so your company can be more successful in the future!!!
Ridiculous I just received a virtual card as part of a settlement, I tried using it at 5 different online stores and it will not work, tried at a grocery store through my apple wallet and it asks for a pin with no way to bypass like a normal card. This is a scam!!!! COMPLETLEY RIDICULOUS!!!!! Edit— I called this evening spoke to a rep he said that the link to set up the card was flagged as “fraud” so it locked the card. He reissued me another link with a new card, well 30 min later never got the email in my junk mail or main email. Called back they said they can’t resend the email but they refreshed it? And that I should get it in 15 min…. Well 20 min later no email…. I’ll call back a 3rd time but so far this place seems like a credit card scam. And fraud. Also their response to my comment below ….. never got an email ….
In relation to Camila’s issue below, support has disappeared.After using card once it was blocked, after providing everything support asked for (identity documents!!!) they stopped replying. Even after multiple follow ups, no one replies. Essentially this is theft of $492.17!!!!
