Review Time
My experience is so different to the negative reviews. I’ve been with Naked wines for a couple of years now. I have found their customer service is second to none. Yes I accidentally subscribed at first, it is easily done. However with out any fuss they cancelled my subscription, refunded my money and allowed me to refuse delivery at the door. Later I voluntarily subscribed as an “angel”. I’ve changed how much I pay to match my wine requirements. Ever so easy. Not every bottle is perfect but that is dependent on my taste. I have never had to request a refund on a bottle. A service they remind me of if ever I speak to them. Yes, you can buy cheaper wine in the supermarket but not that much cheaper these days. Half the pleasure of buying is choosing from wines that you will never see in the supermarket. I always follow suggestions they make regarding temperature and allowing the wine to breath. I was surprised by the difference it makes.
Bought a case of wine over the Xmas period as a gift. Used a discount code. Little did I know they sign you up to a subscription service £25pm. Customer service says it's non refundable.Looked through all my correspondence with them and there is absolutely no mention of this subscription service.Stay clear.
Update to my original review 1* which I have left unedited below. On their website it states you can't get your money back from the Angel account. I requested it back through my bank and Naked Wines returned it with no fuss and sent an apology email which was appreciated. Therefore I have updated my score to 3 stars. I would have deleted it but I feel that much distain comes from their angel account being forced onto customers. I would recommend they remove this and put this as an option which may mean that people who want it will use it and avoid them being review bombed by those frustrated that it was put onto them unknowingly.Original review:"They sign you up unbeknownst to you to a angel service that takes money out each month. Signed up before Christmas using voucher. Wasn't aware that I'd signed up to be an 'Angel'. No terms and conditions on the website nor explanation that you have to pay a non-refundable £25 per month. Complained to customer services who sent me a link to terms and conditions and said that subscription payments are non-refundable. Link doesn't work. Customers should be able to make an informed decision before signing up to a subscription service and terms and conditions should be clearly accessible and an agreement clearly made between customer and company. You should not be signed up to a subscription service with 1 click. This is fraudulent behaviour and I shall be contacting trading standards.
Great customer service. My father has had a Naked Wines account (Angel subscription) for some time, and has been happy with the wine and the service. He now rarely drinks wine, so I called to help him cancel his subscription. What a great experience - all we could hope for. No hard sell. A pleasant conversation to cancel the subscription and have the account balance returned. Thank you Angela and Naked Wines.
