Vision Plan rip off

I set up a 12 month vision plan for 2 pairs of glasses.Checked my bank account & 4 extra payments have been deducted.Explanation: ‘The plans are usually 3 pairs for 3 years.’Very inefficient system. So, if I hadn’t been on the ball, my payments would have continued for 3 years.

OPSM

OPSMI purchased two pairs of glasses, both requiring prescriptions. Unfortunately, both pairs were made incorrectly and had to be returned. When they came back the second time, only one pair was correct; the driving glasses were still wrong.Despite this, I was asked to undergo another eye test, even though the issue was not with the prescription itself. The new eye test confirmed the exact same prescription. My driving glasses were then sent away again, and I was told they would take two weeks. Since then, I’ve had to follow up multiple times, and during my most recent visit, staff appeared unsure of the situation and were unable to provide any explanation, update, or solution.I have now been waiting **two months** for a pair of glasses I have already paid for and still do not have — and have never been able to use.Follow up from OPSM would have gone a long way.

Very recently visited the Southland…

Very recently visited the Southland store looking to order glasses. Thought I’d give a different company to where I normally have my test and order my script. Spent at least 10mins in store without being approached - two store members having a great convo. Left and went back to my store and placed my order there. I’ll stick to where I’m actually served. Quite disappointing considering they had a great range of glasses. I work in customer service so I understand if everyone is busy serving however …

Just go to Specsavers

My mum had gotten a few free glasses coupons from somewhere, and we went to OPSM for those free glasses instead of Specsavers since they only work there. A week later after an appointment we got a message to come get them, and as soon as I put mine on. I was seeing red and blue edging around words, letters, objects, everything. Like shitty 3D glasses. But I ignored it, figuring I was overreacting.Turns out, they ended up somehow accidentally giving me the expensive lenses, instead of the standard ones. The damn lenses made me feel off-balance, felt I somehow had a fish bowl on my head, almost drunk or high (unable to walk properly) and made my eyes and head hurt. My mum ended up calling them, and they had the gall for me to continue wearing them, and “get used to it/them.” I’m not wearing them, spoiler alert. They’re apparently working on actually giving me the appropriate lenses, but so far I’ve heard of nothing. If you value not maybe accidentally getting wrong lenses, and having access to cheaper and more affordable frames, just go to Specsavers, from my experience.Edit (10/02): My mom got them, and there’s a disconnect between what the woman in the store, and what the one over the phone said.Phone lady said: “These are expensive (400/500 AUD, iirc) lenses.” The in-store lady?: “Those are lenses for kids/children (around 0-22, maybe)” so there’s a disconnect. And a gross and absolute lack of professionalism. I’m not planning on going back to that Parabanks store if I can help it.

$90 price increase in the last three weeks!!

I visited the OPSM Miranda store prior to Christmas and tried on a pair of Chanel frames priced at $830 (frames only). When I returned tonight to purchase the exact same pair, the price had increased to $920. A $90 increase within a three-week period feels unreasonable. I currently have a voucher to use, however I’m not paying such a significant increase in a short period of time… three weeks for the identical product.OPSM I would like to exchange my gift card for cash!!!!

If I could give a zero star I would

If I could give a zero star I would. Returned to OPSM today with two pairs of glasses that have been unusable. The optometrist acknowledged they had been manufactured incorrectly but when it came time to discuss new lenses, the retail staff were adamant that I would need to pay an additional $500 per pair to replace the lenses. Their "generous offer" was to include the 50% off second pair promotion which should have applied anyway.Do yourself and your community a favour and find an independent optometrist who actually gives a damn about service because their livelihood depends on it. Last time I will step through OPSM's doors.

Terrible service and uneducated optometrists

I have been very underwhelmed by the service I have received from the Caloundra Opsm branch. I have been given prescriptions that are too strong for my eyes which has caused issues with my vision. I ended up going to an independent optometrist who was able to work out what was actually wrong with my eyes and treat it with the right temporary prescription.I have emailed OPSM, customer service responded saying they have forwarded my concerns to the Caloundra branch and that they'll be in touch, I'm still waiting and the deadline has passed. I'd like a refund for my lenses that I recently purchased from Opsm.
