I've been buying my glasses from Asda Tamworth for several years now. There's always a good choice and a good range of prices. This year I've had a few issues with the glasses which are mostly due to some specific problems I have with my eyes, but staff have done so much to help me resolve the difficulties. I especially want to thank Charlotte who has been so patient listening to my concerns. She is very clearly someone who understands customers requirements and today explained why I could be having continued problems. She made some alterations to the fit of my prescription sunglasses whilst explaining in detail how the adjustment may help. Thank you Charlotte, if only customers received the care and attention you provide everywhere they shop.
I used Asda fosse park opticians for over 10 years. I’ve personally worn glasses for over 35 years. so the first problem we had was about a year ago they did the measurement wrong on my husband‘s glasses for the eye pupil. which meant when they arrived because it wasn’t measured correctly they were very blurry and giving him headache,so they then had to be returned and redone to be honest they said it was a mistake and I kind of let it go but now I’ve had another problem. so I took both my sons to have new glasses. One of my son is autistic and they normally are amazing but not this time so my son had. have his glasses for less than 24 hours. He fell while at college and the frame bent very badly and the lens split down the middle which I’ve never seen ever. I feel the lenses were poor quality very thin and the frame is useless and their argument was that because we’re using an NHS voucher we couldn’t use another one. Don’t really care about that. I’m happy to pay for glasses I’ve ended up paying for another pair but totally different pair. At no point have I had any form of refund the woman on the phone when I rang her was very rude and over all the service is quite appalling. What I’m concerned about now is is when these glasses are made if we’re going have the same problem.I’ve also been told there’s no insurance on these glasses And if they break again, I have to pay for them again luckily I work and don’t claim benefits but that’s not the point . now my third issue is I have a very narrow nose bridge from wearing glasses since I was a child. I’ve always had Asda‘s petite glasses because at the time they’ve always had the best range and I’ve not been told to go and get a pair from the kids section like I have been told at a very high retailed opticians in the past which was absolutely degrading. I’m an adult at the end of the day now the problem is I can’t wear mouldy glasses. I have to have glasses with a nose bridge and pads. They only have four pairs of glasses that are in their range for petite and none of them have this so in January when I go to the opticians for my eye test, I know I’m going to have to go elsewhere. This is stressing me out. I am autistic myself. I do not like change. I even asked if they would possibly put lenses in an old pair and service them for me because they need new arms fitting on the glasses because they’re worn out cause I live in my glasses. I wear them 24 seven I’m severely shortsighted which point I was told they can’t do this, so I really don’t know what I’m going to do. I know I’m going have to look for another opticians for myself and after the appalling response from them for my son glasses which he only had 24 hours if I have issues with the frame that I’m now waiting for I think I’m definitely going to have to go elsewhere. I’ve never had bad service from Asda but this is going on now over a year and it’s not one thing it’s lots of things the quality has gone downhill. The collection of glasses is appalling and their staff are very rude and it’s a shame because they’re not just losing me as a customer, they’re going to lose four people, which is everyone in my household so thank you so much Asda for a really poor service.
I always have excellent service from Asda opticians Benton Newcastle upon Tyne. They sorted a wrong prescription from a different well known opticians give me a new eye test and corrected the lens with out any hassle at all what a lovely team of people the new specs are also fab just wish they had a opticians at Gosforth store
I had no change in a recent prescription but decided I would like new glasses. I visited the Dundee Milton store on Sun 16th November. The lady who served me was very friendly and helpful might be her name was Amy. I decided to change my order to add reactolites and phoned the next day. Again the lady who helped me was so helpful and I felt going above and beyond to help me. She contacted the staff making lenses and even suggested tha the sapphire blue shade would go very well with my blue frames. I was lucky that my lenses had not already been started and was able to change both to the reactolites. The glasses were quoted to take 2-3 weeks but were ready 10 days later. I have just been in today and dealt with Alastair who was also very helpful ensuring the glasses fit and checked I could see everything clearly and showed me the glasses changing with using a light machine. I am wearing my new glasses at the moment and finding them very comfortable. Any issues was advised just to come in. The price was amazing and the service I have received was excellent so I can highly recommend this store and will be returning for my glasses in the future.
Me and my dad had our eye test today at Chaucer Road Sheffield 5. My dad is 87 and has macular eye problems. I have protein on my eyes after cataracts op. We both came out especially dad with so much thank you to the staff. Mr Shuaib Chowdhury is an absolutely gem to Asda opticians, so much patience and help in answering every question we asked him. Also Marie House who helped me choose my new glasses. Thank you once again for your help..
I had my new lenses put into my glasses at Asda Leighton opt they broke my glass frames it took almost a year to get them repaired by them and they crudely repaired them in the worst fashion you could imagine advise everybody not to get the classes done there the lady was out for but top management would not letter do a job
I visited Gravesend Asda opticians yesterday as a new customer with my niece. We were so fortunate to be guided by Jo who was the friendliest, patient and most helpful person we could have seen. She went out of her way to help us choose the best frames. Would recommend her 100%. Thank you Jo.
My wife needed new glasses . We were in store so we went to see what was available. Tom came and spoke to us ,asked what we wanted and took us through the options and availability . He hadn't long been in the job but he was very competent and reassuring ,when he did have a quierry his colleague Karl ably assisted. We left with two pairs of glasses . Great valu and service. So well done Tom and Karl . Unfortunately the glasses are so good my wife has decided she doesn't like the look of me now .
