Review Time
I am writing to express my disappointment with the way I was treated during my recent visit to Asda Opticians in Antrim. This was my second trip to purchase new glasses. I intended to buy two pairs, as I had done previously, and you already hold a copy of my prescription from my last visit. While I was trying to explain this, the staff member repeatedly interrupted me and insisted she needed a hard copy, despite this not being required the last time I purchased glasses. Her manner was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of listening, she talked over me and made the experience extremely uncomfortable. I ultimately walked out without completing my purchase due to how poorly I was spoken to.I hope this issue can be addressed, as no customer should feel disrespected or talked over—especially when they are trying to give their business to you.
Excellent customer service as always, from our booked appointment at Asda Opticians Holt Park,LEEDS 16. We chose a non testing day so the two ladies could help my disabled husband with his visual difficulties, choosing specs of the correct depth and width. Special thanks to Tracey who was so patient and determined.
Asda Eastgate Opticians I have been a customer for many years unfortunately I require yearly tests. I had seen a change within eight months, so I booked a eye test. Sure enough, I needed new glasses. Found and ordered two pairs! I have subsequently had to go back and forth to the store on four separate occasions. I live in Wickford! I attended yesterday to collect these glasses for the forth time. Tried them on, straight away, I could see they weren't right. The female staff have always been very accommodating and helpful. They advised me to take them home. I did, again my vision was impaired. So today I headed back! Please take into account my time. my fuel! I explained what was wrong.I spoke to a new member of staff, don't know his name, he was wearing a suit and a face mask, the man barley said two words to me. (Re - test) He spoke with the Optometrist, not in my presence, I waited around and tried on other glasses....Mary checked my eyes, by doing a pressure test. This was apparently unchanged, but I wasn't provided proof of this. So I can't confirm this. No other tests were undertaken. At no point did the Optometrist speak with me, he remained behind closed doors. Someone had had apparently spoken to the lab, again not in my presence, apparently the lab couldn't do anything! This is what has completely dumb founded me. Mary advised me that I would get a refund on my glasses I had purchased. I was told to go somewhere else!So they have left me with no glasses!I am now having to book another eye test with someone else, I have to pay for my eye tests. What a joke! I can't believe what happened to me today......
I had previously bought a pair of glasses off Boots who refunded my money as after attempting to stop double vision with the glasses they sold me - it couldn't be remedied. Going to the Telford Asda Opticians was a much better experience. No fuss, remedied the problem, the glasses only cost me £80 and all staff were very friendly. They were also ready in less than a week! Special mention to Charlotte Skubek from the Nuneaton Branch and Hassan from the Telford branch.
5 weeks from having my eye test and placing the order I am still waiting for my Glasses. After choosing my frames on 4/10/25 which went ok? I have always had one pair of plain varifocals and one pair of transition lenses for outdoor use. This was the same order at my last visit and the assistant of course knew this from her records. So I opted for the same again in my new frames. After getting home shortly after my visit and looking at the prescription I had an incline something was not right. so I rang the store and luckily I got through to the same assistant who served me. I asked her if she was sure I was having Transition lenses in my new frames. Her response yes of course and they are discounted so that reflected on the price. "This call must be recorded at Asda opticians". When I had a call to say my frames had arrived I went straight over as I was ready for them. firstly I was told my clear glass frames had a fault so they would have to go back? Then with reference to my transitions lenses they were not transition but sunglasses ? I brought this up with the manager on the department who was only interested in me paying a £68 premium as they apparently had not charged ?? not one sorry only denial of any wrong doing ? So stupidly I paid the premium? I told the manager to pull up the conversation I had with the assistant where I brought up the incompetence of this department.I was lied to and all I got instore was give me your money ££?? We are now on the 9th November and still no glasses ? However I received message on my phone yesterday saying my glasses had come into store but one pair has failed quality control again ???? you could not make this up.
Asda Cribbs, Bristol. Firstly I wish I'd looked at reviews before entrusting this company with my eye prescription. 46% five star and a staggering 41% one star! at the time of writing. Firstly, I felt the eye-test was rushed but was happy to try some contact lenses and was told I'd be called within 2 weeks for a fitting. This didn't happen so I called them only to be told that nothing had been ordered and that the lenses would definitely be ordered this time and that I'd get a call within another 2 weeks. Well guess what, no call so I called them again only to be told that no lenses had been ordered. So I've wasted 6 weeks for absolutely nothing. My advice would be to look elsewhere if you want to feel valued as a customer and by the lack of response to complaints here, Asda don't really want your custom, let alone your money either. All in all a very disappointing experience.
When I collected and had my glasses fitted, (Asda Minworth), I couldn’t see as clearly as I’d expected. Reading or distance were not much better than my other glasses (old prescription). I noticed that if I closed either eye and turned my head slightly outward, I got clear vision. This was on both eyes, so I queried my pupil distance measurement. The optician said it was slightly out, but not enough to make a difference (1 or 2mm). They then told me that my ‘expectations’ were unrealistic and I’d never get perfect vision. I explained that I just wanted better vision, but was basically gaslighted, made to believe I misunderstood and shouldn’t question them. They said if I was still unhappy, I had a month to go back. This was 2 months ago, then last night I saw my sister and she mentioned ordering new glasses. I tried hers on and was amazed at how clearly I could see both distance and reading. I am so upset and angry that I was made to feel stupid for thinking my glasses could be better! I’ll be going back on Monday to demand they be re-looked at and I doubt I will trust them again.
