Review Time
My reason for shopping here was to support small business during these difficult times and generally find that hobbies related business to be honourable and so did not seek out a review, wish I had as you can see here a lot of negative reviews.My experience same as others in an absolute lack of communication. Even ignoring Pay Pal. I think most likely you would get there in the end but who wants this amount of hassle and worst, uncertainty. All items were shown ex stock. This is the worst on line experience I have encountered. As a result, I will use a local shop even if a bit more expensive.It took Pay Pal to sort out for me resulting in a refund and over 2 weeks of wasted time. Obviously they are completely unconcerned by these reviews as this has been their preferred mode of operation for years past.Bye bye Osborne.
In May 2020 I ordered an item which was listed on the ship's website as being in stock but five months later I haven't received it. I have sent two emails requesting a refund but regrettably I have not received a reply.Although the amount involved is small l will be pursuing this further with PayPal and with the magazine in which l saw the shop advertised.
Placed an order on the 1st Sept for Items + delivery totaling over £70. As had not received order or had any communication from them. I emailed on the 14th. Had a reply back saying waiting for PECO to send Stock. Checked website & none of items I ordered are showing out of Stock??? I have emailed back asking what items are they waiting for & the likely date of order being sent. Reading other reviews I'm getting a little concerned. Will update review when I hear back.
The great: Got exactly what I ordered and it was well packed.The good: Michael responded quickly when contacted through PayPal.The not so good: No reply to email through normal contact email address and it did take 4 weeks from order to delivery.Normally, I would have rated this at 3 stars but, considering the times we live in, I think it's only fair to up this to 4 stars, as the impact of Coronavirus is causing major problems for all of us and I am thankful for all those that continue to maintain services through these times.
This is the first time I've bought from Osbornsmodels.comDespite the covid measures, after 14 days I got a message that they could finally deliver, and that the package was sent to the Netherlands.After 9 days the Dutch mail delivered the parcel at home.I give 4 stars because in the email i missed the track and trace . This one was present at the postoffice , because it was an International Priority.Packaging was very sound and the ordered goods were received without any damage.kind regardsRupert van Swol
Give them their credit when it’s due! Given the circumstances they may have a slight delay, communications are not too prompt either, hence they drop a star, but otherwise definitely still getting orders out. I bought 40 items on a Sunday, dispatched on the following Thursday, arrived Saturday. Just five of my 40 items were not in stock and already refunded back through PayPal. I was concerned by earlier reviews but it’s important to put the record straight. Osborn’s is a local shop very much still in business and worth supporting!
