Terrible Service

Similar experience to other reviewers. Placed an online order and received an automated acknowledgement. That was the last I heard from Osborns. They don't respond to emails. Was refunded through PayPal after having to go through the dispute/claim process. Nothing more to say really.

Always good friendly service.

Very helpful with an excellent knowledge of both products and trade. Any problems with items swiftly and efficiently dealt with. Best range of N gauge in the country? Good mail order. Not the cheapest but certainly good value for money. No hesitation in recommending them

A frustrating and ultimately fruitless experience

Placed an order in May, automated response. Waited 2 weeks, no news so I sent a friendly email asking for status. No reply after a week, so sent a less friendly email. Received an apologetic reply saying the item would be in stock "in a few days". I asked them to refund my payment if it is not shipped within a week. Two more weeks passed without a word from them. Contacted Paypal, who immediately escalated to a claim and I was refunded within a few days.If you read this and you are tossing up between Osborns and Hattons, it's a no-brainer. Hattons have been absolutely superb with all my orders (yes, they get plenty now, that would have gone to Osborns...)Why some people run online shops when they can't provide the products or the service is beyond me.

Simply Fab

Osborns Models have been fantastic, its great to see shops like this still in existance - keep it going guys. I ordered a vast quantity of Kato items for my new 'N' Gauge layout, having not ventured into 'N' gauge before I found the shop really helpful..........Michael was very knowledgeable and directed me via the Kato site to the appropriate area. I was able to choose a layout and get it ordered in no time. All the parts arrived ontime and packaged beautifully. Considering there was nearly £1000 pounds worth the order was accurate and above board. Osborns have been quick to replace any problem kit and provide great customer service via email and the telephone. I will be using Osborns again for future purchases and highly recommend them to everyone else. I am really pleased I was able to find this local shop and send business their way.

Thanks Osborns.

Out of business? Or just really poor at delivery and communication?

I placed an order in early December 2014 and received a confirmation of order. Payment was immediately taken from my PayPal account. I followed up by email a week later as I hadn't heard any more and they replied two days later to say they'd check up on it. Several days later, I followed up again, to be told that although the payment had been taken "automatically" they were waiting for one of the items and they were processing the order as quickly as possible. This was the last communication I received from Osborns. I emailed them again several times over the following month, but with no response, so in January I raised a dispute with PayPal for non-delivery. I tried to message Osborns twice again via PayPal's resolution centre. There was no response, so in early February I escalated the dispute to a claim and PayPal attempted to contact Osborns. PayPal appeared not to get a response either, so eventually, in mid-February, PayPal found in my favour and refunded my money. Either this company has gone out of business, or they just don't want my business!
