Posting this because a lot of people asked me about my RedMagic import experience to India. If you’re planning to buy one — read this fully. What I orderedDevice: RedMagic 11 Pro (16GB / 512GB) + Shadow Blade Gamepad 3Order value: USD 1,206.27Paid via: ICICI Credit CardShipping: DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)Courier: FedExRoute: Hong Kong → BangaloreWhat I actually paid (real cost)USD charge converted to INR: ~₹1,08,000ICICI forex markup + GST: ~₹4,000Total amount debited: ~₹1,12,000+ INRThis ₹4k is purely bank-side charges, but it still matters because Customs looks at proof of payment, not just seller invoices. I submitted this bank statement as evidence. What went wrongDespite paying full value, the commercial invoice attached to the shipment declared only ~USD 383.This caused:Immediate customs detention in BangaloreFedEx raising a value mismatchCustoms treating this as undervaluationWeeks of emails, calls, and document submissionsThis invoice was not created by me. It came from the shipper (JOR Technology Ltd, linked to RedMagic).Timeline highlightsI explicitly asked RedMagic before ordering if the declared invoice value would match what I paid.Their response was vague (“final price at checkout”, “we’ll help if customs asks”).Shipment arrived → held by customs.FedEx demanded:Order confirmationBank statement (including forex charges)Credit card debit proofCustomer-side commercial invoiceDeclaration lettersCustoms allowed BE amendment (low → high value) but imposed a ₹10,000 penalty.Who paid the ₹10,000 penalty? Not me.Because:Shipment was DDPInvoice undervaluation was shipper’s faultI had full payment proofFedEx confirmed the penalty would be billed back to the shipper.Final outcomeCustoms accepted corrected value: USD 1,206.27Penalty charged to shipperShipment released after weeks of delayDelivery that should’ve taken 3–4 days took weeksImportant lessons for Indian buyersAsk in writing before ordering: “Will the declared commercial invoice value EXACTLY match what I pay?”Only choose DDP shipping If this was DDU/DAP, I would’ve paid the ₹10k penalty myself.Save bank statements Forex markup + GST does matter during customs valuation.RedMagic knows this happens Their support literally said: “If customs holds it, we’ll provide documents.”Final verdictPhone: excellentGlobal shipping ops: brokenIndia import experience: mentally exhaustingIf you’re importing RedMagic to India — be prepared, or don’t do it.
Phone broke in 17 days been on customer support for over a month before they decide to fix it lie after lie after lie sent it in customs stop it they dont communicate with customs or pay the tax so customs sends it back on a boat 3 to 4 month wait ive seen the customs report they refused to pay or talk they pretend it's all customs and they have nothing to do with it but its them that denied contact and they get away with no cost so they dont have a warranty they do it over and over again until warranty runs out do not buy these phones
I wish I could rate them lower. They are such a terrible company to deal with, any gaming performance enhancements done to devices are simply not worth the hassle. For returns processed from purchases in other countries, they make you ship it back to China, while they lie on the customs declaration paperwork, which is fraud.
they do not have a shipment either they will investegate if you have problem with the shipment or your order, better to no buy the product, there much more better product than the RedMagic products!the Quality is so low and the suport is super week!
The webpage is horrible and they do not have any customer services always they lies, do not even trust them either buy the product, Samsung is much more better in gaming aspect, the tablets has no quality. Its totally lie 3 days despatch delivery, totally lie
Terrible Customer Service - I only ordered a day ago and contacted them to cancel… that’s where it all went wrong… fobbed off with excuse after excuse and they actually want me to wait for shipping from Hong Kong to be delivered to the uk and then return it before starting my refund… the item hasn’t even shipped yet. I wish I’d read these reviews first. AVOID
I’ve been waiting since August 17 for a refund and postage reimbursement after returning my faulty RedMagic tablet — which RedMagic already confirmed they received. After 50+ emails and no action, I’m extremely disappointed with their customer service. This has gone on far too long. Please process my refund immediately, or I’ll have to escalate this formally through PayPal and consumer authorities. To others reading this: please think very carefully before purchasing from RedMagic — my experience has been nothing but delays, excuses, and frustration.
