Every member of staff who served us were Exceptional. We stayed on 15th October for one night. There were 8 group of friends having a band reunion.Everything was good our room lovely, clean & spacious.Food was delicious from start to finish.Thankyou Chef & staff who we didn't meet. All the staff were Stars that Shone throughout our stay.We are hoping to return next year for a two night stay.So a very big Thankyou, lovely Liverpudlians that you are.Keep up the Excellent Work.I have read the negative reviews but this is my honest review of our experience.Thankyou.
The lobby was very inviting looked like the garden of Eden. The receptionist was very helpful. The restuarant was gorgeous. However the room was very disappointing. Very bland, beige and brown with huge girder like thing Ln the middle of the room running from the ceiling to the floor, with shabby suitcases situated in the room. I think they were going for a lost and found theme, or sub post office. The bathroom was lovely with a gorgeous bath, and American shower. The lobby on our floor was very shabby with ill fitted carpets and fraying. The next morning we were advised of work going on in the hotel so we decided to stay out as long as we could. However after a couple of ours I had to come back because of taking ill. I knew to expect noise, but didn't realise it was right next to my room, and it was very noisy so i got up to go bk out when I saw lots of bags of cloths and bedding situated all along my hallway. The bags appeared to be owned by immagrants leaving the hotel. I couldn't use the lift at that time as they had stacked there suitcases in the lift, so no other guests could use it.
Absolutely disgusting experience! Booked themed room well in advance ! Arrived and got a non themed room as our room had “a flood” work in fraud so asked to see “flooded room” erm what erm no erm erm. Requested a refund for difference which they said they would £138 ! This was August 28th 2024 !!!!! Now going to small claims court and adding the 32 emails !
Our group booked several rooms for a girls' trip to Liverpool and were looking forward to using the facilities. However, upon arrival, we were informed that we needed to book tables at the rooftop bar and restaurant to be seated. Despite the facility being largely empty, we were refused service for food but not for drinks. We did eventually secure tables and still refused food, the experience left us feeling frustrated. Attached are photos showing the supposedly 'occupied' tables in the restaurant, which were empty and contradict the lack of activity in the venue.
Booked 2 large bedrooms. 10 people stayed 1 room got a breakfast the other didn’t. However email stated with breakfast. Complained also at reception no help other than pay another £17.50 each. Hell no.Booked the rooftop terrace before our evening out sat for over 1/2hr before anyone came out to us then another 15 before we got a drink. Service was so slow even went in to order to be told they would come to us. Every time they arrived outside the people who were up there all cheered. Very poor organisation. The room was nice but did smell a little stale bad drain smell. For anyone staying in the future Wetherspoon is. 6 min walk don’t waste your money.
We attended the Shankly Hotel on Saturday 25th May 2024 for our friends Hen Do, as you can appreciate a very special occasion. We were all so excited going to the Shankly Hotel to celebrate, however our mood soon changed. We Sat down at 3.30pm for our supposedly “90 minutes of bottomless drinks” our first drink arrived an 1hr after ordering despite asking the waiter several times when our drinks will arrive. Give the waiter his due he was very apologetic ‘stating it was staff doing bar service’. First drinks finally arrived the second round of drinks took 30 mins to arrive. At this point we asked to speak to the manager, she came across I only wish I got her name as her customer service was disgraceful. The manager did extend our time (whoop whoop) as we only received 3 drinks in 2 hours. That’s the drinks now on to the afternoon tea. There were 23 in our party to say the afternoon tea was appalling is too good a comment, rubbish sandwiches, 3 cakes and 2 scones!!!!! There was not enough to go round our party 2 women did not eat. Every single one of us complained it was a disgrace. Again, we spoke to the manager due to lack of food who basically shrugged and stated we have had our paid allocation, this manager would not know customer service if it walked up and smacked them in the face not bothered as we had paid upfront, something I advise anybody wishing to book here not to do. Would the 23 women who attended the Shankly Hotel for bottomless brunch ever go back, 100% not!!!!Does your hotel need staff training on customer service 100% YES. Think twice about booking here there are better and less expensive venues across Liverpool offering a fantastic bottomless brunch service.
We booked as a family as 4. We had room 503. Which had two kingsizebeds and 1 single. Lovely spacious room, with lots of coffee and tea. The fridge was a bit noisy. We switched it off before we went to bed. The bath was massive with a really good shower. The location was was brilliant. We parked in the carpark below the hotel. We didn't eat there,so can't comment on the food. We will definitely stay again in the summer. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
