The WORST

The WORST. Trying to get hold of our money and assets is a NIGHTMARE. The website is the most user-hostile thing I've ever come across, you can't get hold of anybody for at least a couple days, and the response is some computer-generated crap that doesn't solve the problem, and if you try to call customer service you're on hold for at least a half hour and get a person who can't help (and rest assured, their first language is most certainly NOT english.)

This is the worst company I have every delt with in my life. They still send out dollar cheques to shareholders outside of the USA when most banks don't accept them, which take four weeks to come and 30 days to clear, and if the check fail to clear you end up paying all charges. Trying to get a direct funds transfer set up is a nonsensical paper form filling exercise which should be done electronically via your online account. IN THIS DAY AND AGE, THEY TOLD ME THEY CAN NOT DO BANK TRANSFER.Every time I call, I get the runaround. They tell me someone will reach out in x days or 24-48 hours. This has happened at least 4 times and no one calls. No one calls.Move away if you can.

I made an account on here just to write this review Shareowners online pissed me off so much. Used to be run by Wells Fargo, sold off to EQ, who sold off to Shareowners Online. I never had an issue until the last 3 transactions to sell stock. I always put the sell order in for a direct deposit. Nope last 3 times they sent a paper check, took 10 business days plus weekends so really over two weeks, then you have to wait for your bank to clear the check. Almost 3 weeks from sell date to money in your account. They don't tell you, they just send it. However, they send it super slow, no tracking, no nothing. If you call them they blame it on your bank and say they rejected the direct deposit option thats why we sent a paper check. Due to their shit ass transaction I was late on my mortgage. Cost me more money than its worth. When you call them, they are very firm and direct with a we did our job and we could give two shits about you and your account. Their fees are a total rip off. Move all your accounts to Fidelity or Schwab or anyone else than this place.

This is a terrible platform

This is a terrible platform! Please stop forcing shareowners to use it. The online account failed suddenly out of no reason, and all restore method provided on the website is not working. And the customer service is awful that you need to chase them all over the place to get help, and they are not helpful at all that no one is able to resolve problems immediately. It's investors' real money in there, and shareowneronline just don't give a shit. Worse platfrom I've ever used.

I sold my shares weeks ago

I sold my shares weeks ago. Still no payment. It's been slow updates and cheques that didn't arrive.Lately, I have started using Novus Limes. The difference is noticeable.

Bad bad. Company

This has got to be the worse company I have ever dealt with. Run run run. I wouldn’t give these people a dime of my money. They have more rules than a High school. But they don’t tell you that up front. Sold some Lilly stock last week. Well today it’s up 100.00 a share. Well. I can’t sell anymore for 2 weeks. Wtf. Is it my stock. Or yours. You won’t send out checks next day air. They don’t have that I was told. I’ve got to get my inheritance out of here before I have a heart attack.

I can't get my stocks out of Shareowner Services fast enough

I've had an account with Shareowner Services since 2017 when it was owned and operated by Wells Fargo. This was sold at some point to EQ. I visited the shareownersonline website recently to get some transaction detail from 2017. To my shock (1) they no longer have any information about my account prior to 2020 and (2) they want to charge me if I want any of the missing information. I'm shocked they can get away with this.

Company that needs to be investigated

The Better Business Bureau, Security Exchange Commission, newsmedia, etc should investigate this company's business practices. This is the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. I have been trying to settle my dad's affairs for the last 2 years. If you are dealing with company be informed that this will be a struggle.

Zero Stars- Stay Away

I have been trying to sell stocks with this company for over 8 months now. About every 3 weeks I get around to the excruciatingly painful experience of working on the next piece of the puzzle to get this over with. I was told last year that before selling stocks I had to remove my custodian on the account, despite the custodian also approving of the sale. Okay, fine. 3 months, 2 sets of mailed documents, several frustrating call to customer service, and a $150 in fees later, my custodian is removed. But suddenly so has all my stocks?! I contact customer service through the portal and they essentially report "everything is fine" several times, each instance requiring a week to hear back. So I decide to call again.I guess they opened a whole new account for me but never said anything about it? They act like I should have just known to call, despite no email OR person from their team messaging or mailing this to me. Fine. But they can't give me the account number over the phone, so I have to wait for it to come via snail mail. If it had to be sent through the mail, why didn't they just send it to me to begin with?!After finally getting the account number in the mail, I try to log in, only to find that I need an authenticator ID. Turns out that has to be snail mailed too, but that request can only be made AFTER I waited to get the account number mailed to me. I request it, and after 3 weeks of nothing, I request another. Another two weeks and I finally get it.Great, now I can log in and sell stocks, right? No. Now I will have a several weeks long process of miscellaneous account access issues that are eventually resolved despite no one acknowledging that there was ever anything wrong. I go to sell and find out that since my custodian was removed, now I have to tax certify my new account, so I follow the prompts to do that online. Of course, the portal only shows error codes, and several more calls and messages to customer service resolve nothing so I printed out the form and mailed it to their office. Now weeks later, they claim they never received anything from me. I am serious wondering how this is not illegal at this point, because it seems like they are just INVENTING ways to keep me from being able to liquidate my account with them. I sincerely hope to see this company destroyed. I'd happily forfeit my meager stocks money if it meant no one else could get scammed by these people.

HOW IS THIS OK??????

I am very disheartened and borderline panicking reading all of these reviews as I am getting the same runaround everyone else seems to get. My father passed away in 2022 and I’m still trying to get control of his accounts. Before he passed away, we placed his exelon shares in a revocable trust. in April 2022 exelon spun off constellation and issued shares in proportion to exelon shares owned ….which they did not place within the trust account. When I filled out the request for a “full share summary report” and had to wait three weeks to receive the information in writing, they only disclosed the constellation shares (outside of the revocable trust) and said that he had zero shares in exelon. Because of this error, I may have to go through probate to get the constellation shares as they are valued outside the threshold for the small estate affidavit in Illinois. I sent them a letter on April 7 of course overnighted with signature and I am still waiting to get a response. And then they say that it can take up to 20 days after they receive the stock power transfer form. This feels like such a scam where you get so frustrated that you give up and then they just keep the stocks. I am not gonna trust them to sell the shares. I’m just transferring them to a different brokerage account. I just don’t even know how they are conducting business like this with no consequences.
