One Star is is way to kind, more like a black hole!

The platform just doesn't work, no matter how many times you go through it. Their server always comes back as unavailable. They should just do the world a favor and declare bankruptcy and go away. Forcing people to use this horrendous service to sell their stock is criminal. thats 3 days I'll never get back.

I wish I could give them zero stars.The representatives are nice but this company is so sketchy, I’m only with them as that’s where my stock is. They have so many sketchy practices and should be shut down

Do not ever use this company

Do not ever use this company. Their web site is terrible and their customer service is not much better. I forgot my password and could not recover from it. The web site would not allow me to log on no matter what combo of info I gave them . When I called their customer service, they would have me on hold for 30-45 minutes at a time telling me to try this and try that, call back later, etc. I also tried to do a direct deposit of some of my shares into a separate bank account and they could not help there either. I had to wait 10 business days for a physical check.

A horrible experience.

Giving this organization one star is one star too many. The only good thing I can say about it is that their customer service reps are respectful. Wait times to get a customer service is too long. One representative tells you one thing to do and then the application is rejected. The right hand does not know what the left is doing. A horrible experience.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

My father passed in 2018, his accounts were transferred to my mother. She passed in 2022. I was able to transfer her accounts to my brother and myself. Just in the last year I start receiving mail about a few accounts still in my father’s name that we didn’t know about. My frustration, I was able to transfer my mother’s accounts with our court document Decree of Decent. Now they are telling me that will not be accepted. How the hell did I transfer my mother’s accounts in 2022 then? They want me to do a small estate affidavit, the estate has already been through probate!! Decree of Decent is a Court order that any assets of my mother belong to my brother and myself. I have the Decree of Decent where my father’s account went to my mother, and the Decree of Decent where her account goes to us. When I asked through messages on my own account that was transferred from my mother in 2022, “Please share with me what documents I used to transfer this account to my name when my mother passed.” Here is their ridiculous response exact quote. “ We suggest you to help us with your father’s account so that we will check and assist you accordingly.” Unbelievable! Once I get this taken care of I am leaving this company, which it sounds like it will be hell getting my money sent to me!

ACCOUNTS Blocked @ Shareowner online due to software change in 2025

Shareowner online is aware of systemwide NON-access for shareholders. JUMIO system was implemented in early 2025 and now account holders CANNOT access their account. Shareowner is AWARE and cannot fix. No Correction date available and problem is worse than discussed here.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Working through a probated estate for my father and getting information is a ridiculous process. Slow and unresponsive. Same documentation has to be submitted over and over. I've had to resubmit a death certificate multiple time. Customer service struggles to provide requested information which requires additional follow up and more copies of same documentation. Definitely need more training and improved processes. Would highly recommend other to refrain from using their services. Once probate of the stock for the estate are transferred, I hope to never have to use their services ever again!

One has to work really hard to be as incompetent as this company

My 95 year old mom lost a certificate for shares of stock held by Shareowner Online. We notified them and they sent a letter saying we needed to complete a surety bond with them to cover the lost certificate and transfer the shares into direct deposit. The cost is 5% of the value of the shares. The alternative was to get a surety bond by an "A" insurer and submit it to them.Found out that going directly to the insurer is 1/2 the cost of getting the surety bond through Shareowner Online, so elected to go that route. I am using the same insurer they use. The agent asked for me to get a pre-approval on the surety bond from Shareowner Online before processing it, so I reached out to Shareowner Online to see how this could be done. Well, they don't take faxes, everything has to be by mail. You can also not speak to anyone directly in the lost certificate department. You get send to an Indian call center and they know absolutely nothing. Even when you insist on speaking to a supervisor who does speak English, he is useless. Informs me it must be mailed in and they will mail back a response. The process literaly took a month for them to get back to me to provide feedback on finalizing the surety bond to their absolute specifications. At several points, I tried emailing them to ask when they would get back to me and simply received a stock reply email response that ignored my question and told me that they understood that I had lost my certificate and then went through the steps to change them into direct registration by getting a surety bond. There wasn't even an attempt to addresss the question that I asked that I had sent in a draft of a surety bond and when they would provide feedback on it so I could finalize it.I have now sent in the pre-approved Surety bond that has been finalized with tracking. They received it 2 weeks ago per my tracking and there has been no update in my account that they have received it and are processing it and when the shares will be put into direct registration. Is that really that hard to provide. I get emails from Amazon, when I purchase something, when it has left the warehouse and when it will be arriving at my doore and then when it has been delivered.The snail pace of response, the lack of reponding to simple questions with answers that show you at least read the question put forth, the inability to answer questions over the phone.I work with dozens of financial companies, Schwab, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc. No one, and I mean no one is as un-customer service helpful as Shareowner Online. I just don't get the complete unprofessionalism of this company. If you have shares being held by them, get them out. Get them into Schwab or a broker as soon as you can. This company is the worst and should really not be in business and I am going to write the stock company we have shares in and let them know of my experience as well.

wish I could rate it a 0

wish I could rate it a 0. When I went to sell stock for buying a house they changed my $21k direct deposit to a check without asking me. Check is a 10 business day turn around and now we will miss our house closing because of it.
