I would love to give this company negative stars. Since mid December, I have filled out 5 forms, all rejected. I've made eight phone calls for information. The call center is of course, off-shored. After an extensive security discussion, which I appreciate, the call center can tell you nothing and can do nothing.So frustrated. Its like taking a test for Advanced Bio Chem! This is MY inheritance.Worst experience with my sister's estate, ever. As soon as I get MY inheritance in my name and under my control, I will never work with EQ again under any circumstance. There's a reason that EQ has less than 2 stars!
Honestly, I agree with the past reviews but also do not. Compared to other companies/practices, YES these people move VERY slowly. I have never seen a 21st-century financial company rely so much on snail mail when everything is digitized. Unlike other reviews, I have also had good experiences with them as well as good customer service. But sometimes, I have bad experiences. If you call, you will wait on hold for 30 minutes and have to verify with security questions. I do not mind this honestly, I have had MUCH worse experiences with other companies putting me on hold. Others mind.I do not think their guidelines/what they tell you accurately demonstrate what is happening behind the scenes. And that is where almost all of my frustration comes from. For a lot of previous reviews, I have noticed a trend: address change & snail mail. For an address change/information change, it takes around a month to unlock your account. It is added security, and that's fine. Just make sure you do not need a sale within a month.If you send in any forms via paper mail. It will take up to a WEEK (business days) to process/accept the paperwork. It will then take 1-5 business days to execute whatever the paperwork says (PER PAPER). So if you have a transfer form + a sale, you can expect to wait UP TO 17 business days for a sale (7+ 1-5+1-5). This is almost a full calendar month after they have received the paperwork. Just do NOT be in any type of rush for your money. They also do not state this, only saying "it will take 1-5 business days". However the customer service rep on the phone stated the full timeline. Also, I had noticed that after a sale. The account would not accept online sales for around 1-2 weeks. Seemingly a security measure, which I actually really appreciate. But, this was not listed anywhere on their website. Overall, I wish this company had better customer service/was more open with their customers. But, from my experience it is not as horrible as every other review is making it out to seem. To anyone reading, I HIGHLY advise setting up an online profile, and establishing access to sell online. No red tape and no hiccups after everything is setup; this is how the platform was meant to be used.
Overall they seem fine - a good way to hold onto stock and get the tax forms needed for dividend reinvestment. The reason for my low review is my recent sale of some of my stock. I put in direct deposit information, and it said 2-3 days to transfer. Apparently they "couldn't confirm" something about my account, and instead of contacting me to confirm, they unilaterally switched to a mailed paper check that might take 10 days to arrive (currently on day 5), while I made plans based on 3-4 days to give a buffer. The only reason I learned this is by calling them when the funds had not been posted. Really not good customer service, yet they made money on the fees for the sale.
No different to previous comments. I have been trying to sell my shares since start November last year, it took 3 attempts to get my log in details which they kept blaming on the post, then I had to send the documents via courier from the UK to them as they wouldn’t accept anything by email. Once received they raised the cheque (why can’t they bank transfer) quickly and posted it out on the 13th January and guess what still no cheque. I asked for a replacement cheque in the 1st February, I didn’t receive a message as to when I will receive it and when I queried this yesterday they say they do not have any details on their system of me asking for a replacement cheque even though I have an email from them confirming I do so. I despair of ever receiving my money, but will not give up. I would never buy shares from any company who deals with this one. I wish I could give a minus score as they don’t even deserve a 1 star 🤬. I will be writing to the company I bought the shares in to recommend they look at changing the people they deal with.
I have been trying for years to transfer stock held in joint tenancy with my deceased husband. I have spoken to multiple people who keep referring me to the online portal, which has a username and password chosen by my deceased husband and not known to me. Or I receive incorrect information. Every time I speak to someone, I receive a different answer (often conflicting with earlier information) and then I run into a road block due to the information not being correct. With a recent change to electronic only access to account information, the situation has become even more problematic. Once I get this sorted out, I think the best thing to do would be to sell these shares.I am looking to rework my investments, but I will not purchase stock in any individual company that is managed by EQ Shareowner Services.
Same as everyone else!! I sold shares in my stock on January 7th, the check was sent out on January 8th and they told me it would be about 10 days before I received it. Those 10 business days would have been January 22nd here I still am with no check!! I was making a very important purchase and this has held that up tremendously!! I’ve talked to several people in customer service who give me different answers all the time and none of it makes sense at all. If I cancel the check and have it reissued it would be another month until I receive that check!! Why could they just do a wire transfer it’s 2025!!!! I am beyond upset and will be switching companies as soon as this is over!!
Absolutely incompetent. An offshore company who provides scripted answers without any form of knowing how to solve simple problems. And there is 'no one' they can talk to - no supervisors, no solutions. I spoke with 2 different people and got 2 vastly different answers and NEITHER of them could give a clear answer on when my account would be unlocked due to a simple address change. One said 'a day or two' (but 'not sure') and the other said 4 weeks!!! 4 weeks to have access to stock that I OWN and want to sell?? AND they ask you to communicate documents by postal mail or fax in the year 2025!?? We know the US postal system is unreliable and who even owns a fax machine nowdays??Shocking. Extremely dissatisfied. Don't become a Constellation Energy or Excelon Corporation Shareholder as you won't be able to do transactions through their provider!!!!I will also be posting this where Constellation Energy and Excelon Corporation can see this!
Horrible horrible service , been trying to sell stock and close out my account for a month and a half. They give bad advice, tend to say things without ever looking at the specifics, could not be worse. Website seems not to work at all, despite putting in the correct information, can never get pass log in.
This company is impossible to deal with. I've been trying for 3 weeks to sell my stock and have it sent to me.I executed one transaction that was capped so I wanted to do 2 more. The account is now ineligible for selling, but is approved to buy. The one sale I did execute was mailed as a check, even though I went through the process to have it auto deposited. Phone Support are ESL that read company policy from a script and have no authority to help. Online text support takes 2 days to get an answer and it is boilerplate policy and rules. My request to escalate to Tier 2 support was ignored.Bottom line, I can't get my money out. Time for attorneys, State Attorney General, and SEC to do some investigation.You are a fool of you consider doing business with these people.
