Due to some technical issues, my subscription wasn't deactivated and I got charged 1-year fee. However, SmallPDF support team showed their loyalty and refunded me almost the whole amount as a goodwill, keeping the charge for one month only. I am very grateful!
I was unaware I had subscribed as I did not receive a confirmation I had been granted access or an email confirmation.I wanted to convert 1 document but was unable to do this without entering my bank card details and even then I couldn't do this as the doc was too large. I suspect a large part of their customer base fall victim to this tactic as 25% of the bad reviews refer to the same complaint.The annual subscription fee was taken within the trial period timeframe. £81 without warning. I spent a lot of time disputing this with customer support. They finally agreed to a partial refund. Please be careful when you take the trial period.
I would give zero stars if I could. I was charged after the free trial ended and attempted to request a refund, but customer service was completely unhelpful. Despite what their FAQ claims, I never received a reminder email before being charged. Additionally, there is no clear option to disable auto-renewal, which feels intentionally misleading.
