Review Time
I’m writing this review to share a long-term customer’s perspective. Two years ago, I purchased two pairs of glasses from Specsavers. One of them worked perfectly, but the other was never properly adjusted. I went back several times asking for help, but the frame was never fixed, it remained crooked and caused discomfort behind my ear. Eventually, I gave up on using them.Recently, I returned to Specsavers for a new eye test and explained this previous issue, hoping they might offer some kind of consideration or discount. I was told there was nothing they could do, which I can understand to a certain extent. The eye test itself went smoothly, and the staff in that area were kind and professional. However, the experience changed drastically when I was sent to the sales section. The person assisting me completely disregarded my previous issue and refused to use my existing frame, insisting that I had to buy new ones.On top of that, she strongly pushed me to purchase the most expensive lens options, even though the standard ones had worked perfectly fine for me before. The level of pressure felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional, almost as if there was a personal incentive behind it. When I politely declined and chose the more affordable option (which still isn’t cheap), her attitude changed immediately. She became cold, unfriendly, processed the payment without a simple “thank you,” and made the whole interaction unpleasant. This kind of behavior creates a very negative atmosphere and leaves customers feeling unwelcome and undervalued. A good service experience should never depend on how much a customer spends.I will be picking up my new glasses soon, and honestly, I’m already feeling uneasy about what to expect. I truly hope the collection process will be better, but as of now, this experience has left me disappointed and reluctant to return in the future.Date 11/10/2025 Time 11.46 am
I had a really positive experience at Specsavers. The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. The optometrist took time to explain my results clearly, and I never felt rushed or pressured into making decisions. I returned to the store at a later date to choose glasses after changing my mind. As it was my first ever prescription, choosing glasses felt a little daunting, but the team’s advice was so helpful. They were honest about what suited me and helped me find something within my budget. When I collected my glasses, the store was very busy but it didn’t take long to be served. The lady who served me was lovely - kind, professional, and patient. The glasses were a little big, but she adjusted them quickly and made sure I was happy before leaving. Overall, I left feeling confident in my new glasses and really happy with the service. I’d definitely recommend Specsavers to anyone looking for a professional and friendly experience.
Great service from all members of staff. I was well attended to by the reception personnel, and the service I received from the optician was excellent. I felt relaxed and confident that my eyes were getting optimum attention. The member of staff who assisted me in picking my glasses was very friendly and helpful, even to the point of parting with my cash.
The optician who tested my eyes was lovely and explained everything to me but the other staff in the store were less than average. Firstly a very young man took me to a machine that blew air into my eyes and I felt he was very inexperienced when I asked the purpose of this test then after my eye examination I felt very pressured by another man when choosing my glasses as he asked me what I worked at and what colour was my uniform then proceeded to lift only black and blue frames for me to try! Just for clarity I chose 1 pair of multicoloured frames and 1 pair of bright purple frames 😀 He also stated the optician recommended 2 pairs of glasses and when I tried to correct this and stated I did not need distance glasses I only needed reading he tried to tell me I was wrong despite the optician telling me in my examination my sight is fine for distance and well within the legal end for driving. I don’t think he liked the fact I corrected him but I was right and he was wrong. So for clarity I availed of the 2for1 offer and got myself 2 pairs of reading glasses only. I opted for the anti glare coating (another £50) as I have a lot of screen time in my work. Both pairs including extras amounted to £170, not a bad price and that’s why I’ve gave 3 stars today!
