Review Time
I moved therefore I wanted to change my home gym to the one that I had closer. I've checked several times with the worker that this action wouldn't extend my subscription and they confirmed it wouldn't. 2 months later I find out actually it didn't extend for 1 YEAR! I won't even be here by then so I emailed them and they ignored. I emailed them again and they said so what this is what you wanted but in the end after explaining my problem 4 TIMES they finally decided to do something about it. Now they told me I have to pay retroactively (as the previous subscription was more expensive) because of their mistake for a membership I couldn't use! And even if that's okay the price they want me to pay is not even the difference between my old and new membership! This gym is just money hungry and not solution oriented. The reason I got I to this mess in the first place is because I WAS MISINFORMED!!!! I'm a student so this inflexibility and exploitation is not something I can brush over. This is the first time I've ever written I complaint about a place. Sportcity as an organization is a money hungry, uncoordinated space that doesn't take responsibility for problems they've created and expect you to solve them with more money. As someone who goes to the gym for both mental and physical well-being the stress the horrible bureaucracy of this gym puts is just unacceptable.
I'm writing here about SportCity Den Haag Houtrust. It's an extremely crowded gym. Many people use street shoes that are visibly dirty and the staff doesn't care. They also tend to leave the back door open for various technical needs and I've had to abandon my workout several times. Anyway, it's very cold in this gym and when they leave the door open, your sweat freezes on you.
Everything is fine, for amateurs approaching bodybuilding and women's fitness, I highly recommend this gym, the service is very nice, I can't comment on the trainers because I haven't tried them, but I can see that they take training with their clients seriously,
I was a member for nearly 2 years at Sportcity-Amstelveen branch. I experienced 2 racist incident second one being very serious one (assault on pregnant women who was reverse threatened by gym manager)Incident 1: I took my 9-year-old son and made him sit in the reception area while i could attend my spinning class. The boy was given an ebook to read while waiting for me. The Gym staff said kids are not allowed. I requested but they refused. I called Gym manager to request and she gave a nig lecture of how she is a mom of 2 and how much she cares for kids safety. The very next day I see kids of 4-5 years are running around in the gym without any adults around, a 7 year old boy trying to move dumbells in weights sections. All these kids were white, while gym staff or the manager dint take any action at all. A week later a white women left her 6 years old daughter on the sofa and she went for zumba class. No gym staff questioned about this. Incident 2: A fellow Gym member (lady) and Sportcity Gym staff (cleaner) assaulted a Indian pregnant lady by spraying the room freshner and deodrant in and around her causing chemical fume while she was working out, even after knowing she is pregnant. There was no sportcity staff around, the lady ultimately had to raise her voice for her safety. We lodged a formal complaint, it needed multiple follow ups to get one answer back. After multiple reminders the Gym manager(emy, Cecil) called and acted as if the mistake was from the pregnant lady because she had body odor, when asked about safety of the gym and the unprovoked attacke the gym manager replied , "I will cancel your membership". When asked for CCTV recording for the proof the answer was "On that day, that camera was not working". which is pretty clear the gym manager is trying to protect the fellow white ladies involved in assault. In both incidents it was very clear that Gym Manager displayed a RACIST behavior. Apparently the gYm manager is also a lady who failed to understand the trauma of a pregnant women.
My expression of GratitudeIt is simple I just love the employees, trainers, the atmosphere a large variety of sport equipment for me to expand my training skill and the place overall is just wonderful, I am always excited to go exercise just because this particular gym exists (my beloved Den Haag Loosduinweg Club), keep up the great work!
the club has a nice atmosphere with good staff and excellent personal trainer. I think if you make more space for table tennis it will be a very good experience for members who want play TT regularly. And it can be result in more loyalty in our club.
