Placed an order on the evening of 18th June 2025.Realised next day I had order the wrong colour football boots.Sports Direct say on their website they"may be able to cancel an order" depending on its status. It was still being shown processing and not dispatched!I tried using there online chat service several times and being cut off.Finally got through to be told can't cancel as it has been shipped. At the time of being told this I checked its status and it still said being processed!I said I will wait until it is delivered but wanted a refund of the return delivery fee.They said can't do it and just ended the chat!!!

Title: Poor Service, Broken Returns System, and Hidden ChargesI ordered a pair of trainers for my husband for Father’s Day from Sports Direct. They didn’t arrive on time, and when they finally did, they didn’t fit.I went into a store to exchange them and was told I could only return them online, which is incredibly inconvenient and not clearly explained when ordering.When I tried to return them online, the system wouldn’t allow me to process the return — and to make matters worse, the dispatch label had cut off the order number, making it even harder to complete the return.Even if the return had worked, I discovered it would cost me £4.99 just to send them back, which feels like a rip-off, especially given the hassle I’ve already been through.This whole experience has been a mess from start to finish — poor communication, poor customer service, a broken returns system, and hidden costs. I won’t be shopping with Sports Direct again unless they seriously improve how they treat their customers.

Totally unethical experience… I ordered…

Totally unethical experience… I ordered a pair of trainers which arrived in a box that had been ripped open and the trainers looked worn, I returned them and over two weeks later I have not had a refund. I made contact through online chat to chase the refund and was told the trainers returned were not sold by sports direct. I returned the trainers that were sent to me!Awful experience and I have still not received my refund.

Avoid at all costs

Appalling company. Ordered a table tennis table as s Father's Day present, and paid £50 for delivery. Opened it today and it is damaged, OK that happens sometimes, no problem, Sports Direct can pick up the damaged item and provide a replacement? Nope. WE have to pay to return the damaged item, Sports Direct will then examine it and decide if a refund is applicable and we then reorder a new table and pay AGAIN for delivery. Absolutely unacceptable. I will be opening a dispute with my credit card. What an absolute shambles of a company.

Expensive mistake ordering from Sports Direct

I ordered trainers online for my grandson as hardly anything advertised on their site is in the shops - so £4.99 delivery but they didn't fit and I'm fuming that I cannot return through the store and have to return online costing me another £4.99! I definitely won't order from them again, delivery is cheaper from other stores plus I can return to store for free. Hopefully I will receive my refund quickly unlike some of the other complainants on here.

Trouser sizes completely wrong. Cost me £14 for nothing.

Bought two pairs of trousers for my trip. Didn't recieve a confirmation email, so I wasn't sure if they would arrive in time. They then arrived the day before- one of the pairs was enormous, the other was tiny, despite them being the same size I usually buy. Had to go to the Post Office to return them to two different places and it cost me £9, not including the £5 shipping cost for the order in the first place.

Do you buy from this site if you feel you may want to return items !! Portal does not work. Does not recognise my order number. Clearly shown on my invoice.does not recognise my email . Although order details sent to it. No phone numbet to be found to call them . even tried stores . Phone numbers not recognised. Now i have an expensive pile or shite i cant return . If anyone can advise how i can do a returm that would be great

Reply to Beth customer service - portal is not working.

Thanks for your advice Beth but there is no where on the website that gives assistance with returning an order neither is there a method for contacting customer services. I’ve used Sports Direct before and it’s never been easy or a pleasant customer experience but this has made things so much worse!! How do I return my order when the portal isn’t functioning? Please advise.

Unreasonable collection fees for having to order products not held in store.

I really object to having to pay £4.99 delivery when I spend £169 on trainets, even when collecting from store! This item isn’t held in stock so there is no other choice but to order, and then you are charged to collect.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share how frustrating and disappointing this experience has been — all due to one wrong panel.What should have been a simple fix turned into a completely avoidable and drawn-out situation. Instead of taking ownership and offering a straightforward solution, I was left to deal with the consequences: dismantling an entire set, repackaging it, and arranging a courier — all because of one incorrect piece that wasn’t my fault to begin with.The lack of accountability, poor communication, and absence of any real support made the whole process incredibly inconvenient and stressful. I expected a much higher level of service and basic problem-solving, but unfortunately, that was not the case.Very disappointed and won’t be recommending based on this experience.
