Efficient battery installed.

We received a cold call last month, initially we were skeptical, but after meeting with the surveyor Shane, he explained the benefits of a battery system for our solar system. We had it installed within a week and the workmen were very polite and tidy. We are now saving more on our energy bills than before. The only complaint we have is that we didn’t hear about this sooner. Thanks again to Trusted Home Solutions!Mr and Mrs Benbrook

Great service

Great service, thoroughly happy with system! I received a phone call regarding battery savings for my panel system that I have on a feed in tariff system. Battery’s are something I’ve been thinking about for some time but I thought the cost was too expensive. Kingsley the surveyor arrived the following day and looked at my system to see what I was generating and then looked at my smart meter to see what I was using from the grid. I needed a 10kw battery system because I use quite a lot of electricity because of 4 large freezers I use and electric heaters as my house is very old. I’ve now had the system for 3 months and my electricity bill has dropped from £129 a month to £26 a month, couldn’t be happier! I’m 76 years old and that’s a big saving for me compared to the pittance I was getting in the bank. Well done chaps

‘Trustworthy’ as their name implies.

This company provide price reductions through the manufacturers, to customers who have existing solar panels. This makes a battery/ inverter system cheaper, which is very helpful. Their 10yr insurance cover is also great.Customer service was considerate, helpful, and efficient. Checking that I was not a vulnerable customer initially, was diligent too.Unfortunately, there was some miscalculation over installing the 5kg battery, it would not fit through the loft entrance, but this was dealt with by installing 2 smaller batteries, requiring 3 visits. All installers were friendly, polite and considerate.Overall, this company has proved trustworthy, as their name implies. I would recommend them.

Poor installation and lack of support

On the 13th February a Surveyor called at my home and informed me that I could make 80% saving on electricity costs if I purchased a 3.3 growatt battery since I already had panels and a solar edge inverter. Since I am retired and a carer for my husband who is suffering from Alzheimer’s I felt that any savings would help my financial position in the future. I paid £500 deposit remainder £3700 would be paid following installation. On the 4th April a subcontractor by the name of Marcus did the installation. Contrary to contract stating that battery should be next to inverter in the loft he placed it in a small cupboard under the stairs which had no ventilation. On the 14th August I discovered from my solar edge monitor that solar panels, inverter nor battery were functioning. 31st August an Engineer employed by their company came to rectify the problem. When he opened the cupboard door he immediately asked me the name of the person who had carried out the installation!!! All he did was restart the system and proceeded to explain to me the procedure if it happened again. The Manager agreed to compensation of £175 for my 17 day loss.On the 25th October because of the lack of light and heat coming from the cupboard I realised that the system had gone down again but this time it was only the battery apart from 1 of the 9 solar panels. Fault was reported and a request made to carry out a service as paid for in my contract. As I had aired my concerns over the installation Nathan promised that he would send their best Engineer Jack to check it over. I have since had an independent installer to look over the system and they found that the battery had not been fitted correctly and that my usage was still coming from the grid. Hence the reason for me having no reduction in my electricity bills. Also they felt that a 3.3kw battery was not big enough. However following 2 cancelled I was surprised on 17th November that Marcus had been sent to address the problem. Marcus carried on doing the investigation and after some 30 minutes informed me that there was some spillage on the battery and had affected connections. He did not show me the battery but informed me that he would seek the consent of THS to remove the cover and clean the inside with some chemicals. I took his word for it although I had no idea what substance had spilled or how this could have happened. He continued back and forth his van outside and finally informed me that the company would be in touch. I was therefore-most upset when later that day I received a phone call from Nathan stating that Marcus had taken a photo of a very small can of oil situated on the shelf above the battery and that had spilled over onto the connections. Not once did Marcus mention this to me, if he had I could have shown that it was impossible, as the can only half full which originally contained 125ml was rusted and was impossible to open.On the 3oth November another Engineer came to service and check over the solar panels and was instructed to take back the battery. As my trust in this company with all the untruths and contradictory comments made I contacted Nathan and had to remind him of the 10 year warranty conditions if the batter had been tampered with by someone else. I was assured that the battery would be going back to Growatt.I heard nothing until the 5th January when I was told that Growatt had discovered oil on the battery and details would be forwarded to me in an e-mail. I received sight of the e-mail on the 16th February as it had been forwarded by the receptionist to the wrong address, this is in breach of Data Protection. I continued my own investigation with Growatt who informed me that they had sent the e-mail on here say from THS. The battery was still withTHS and the distributor Eco-angels forwarded it on to the manufacturer on the 27th February almost 3 months after it was taken from my home. On the 28th February I was informed by Nathan it was covered by the warranty and battery would be replaced. A week later telephone message from Growatt stated that they could not honour it as although they found no oil only a water substance on the connection and although this could have easily been fixed they felt there could be a risk of fire if any oil had seeped further into the battery as stated by THS. I feel I have been used as a scapegoat by this Electrician to cover up for bad workmanship. I have been robbed of £4200 and have been offered no solution to the problem by Trusted Home Solutions who base their evidence on photographs. I have asked for some compensation for the stress and upset this has caused and have not been shown any compassion or offered any solution.I have received all the documentation from Eco-angels the distributor and the manufacturer Growatt and will be seeking legal action if I hear nothing from THS. No customer care at all!!
