The products are expensive, the color consultant recommended the “light” color, which is definitely too dark. Customer service is offering a 50% discount on the next order or a return of the products at my expense, which is absurd. I do not intend to buy any more products.
Typology has a life long customer! Beside their products being absolutely amazing for my sensitive skin, their support team is absolutely wonderful. I had made my annual order on their website, and unfortunately I had not received my order. My best guess is it got lost in the mail on the way to me. I reached out to their support team, and they were so kind and able to help me get a new order on the way. Yes there is obviously a delay in receiving my order considering it had to be reshipped, but that’s just a tiny inconvenience when comparing their remarkable support through this order. I appreciate all of the typology support team in ensuring I have a pleasant experience with them. They are all truly amazing.
My old makeup regimen (powder foundations and concealers) seemed to sit on my skin and didn’t complement me as I get older. Typology works differently. I put just a little on my cheeks, nose and chin. I use the concealer and lip oil. It looks so youthful and glowing. Truly unlike other “makeup”.I did initially have a problem with the return policy. I hesitated to order because it has an higher price point without a customer friendly exchange policy. I decided to try my luck but was so disappointed because though it felt great, it was way too dark. I emailed the company (it took quite an effort to find the contact information online!) and was pleased that they offered me a suitable solution. It wasn’t an easy exchange or full refund but I didn’t lose all I paid.I ended up purchasing the Advent Collection because I am now obsessed. The glow is real magic.
I ordered their serum foundation and concealer to try, as they offer no way to test out shades so I did my best in ordering, thinking "of course they offer exchanges, it would be crazy not to!" Well, reader, they don't offer exchanges. In fact, if you do happen to order the wrong shade of foundation (as most do) you not only have to pay a return fee to send it back, but have to pay shipping again for your new shade that maybe hopefully fits you this time. I asked for a free shipping code or exception to this policy and was denied, so decided that it made the most sense to return both the foundation and the concealer together to then re order both to gain free shipping through their $60 minimum. Nope, can't do that either because now it's been over 14 days since my product was delivered and that's too long to start a return according to French law?? Yes, legitimately, the CSA was citing French law to me in their email responses. The only reason we went past 14 days, by the way, is they take nearly 72 hours to respond to any email I send, essentially running out the clock. My first email was within 4 days of delivery, and the rest of the correspondence took over 10 days to get to where it was "too late to return." I have never in my life encountered customer service policies and application so punitive, mean spirited and ridiculous in my life. FOR A FOUNDATION...something that is notorious for not fitting the user off the bat to no fault of their own. No way to try their product, no samples, nothing in store, yet charging over $80 for a tiny bottle of foundation and concealer with an embarrassing shade range to boot. Typology has 100% lost me as a customer. I wasn't even impressed with how the foundation applied and the concealer creases so badly it's hard to justify either. I'm unable to return it, though, since their policies are from the dark ages. Guess I'll have to take this up with my credit card company. Good luck to you, I hope you order the correct shade from the start!
The response to my recent review only validates further my dissatisfaction with this company. I clearly didn’t see the email about the auto renewal. Dealing with a health issue and missed the email. It would be easy for a company to simply refund but they choose not to. I realize I have culpability but a company could also have great customer service and maybe win me back as a customer. But they opt not to.
I love every product I have received. Shipping is fast! Customer service is friendly, professional and solved any issues quickly. I once received a product that had leaked during shipping. I reached out to the company and was sent a replacement, no questions asked, within the week! Typology is a great company!
Typology's customer service was great. They really care and we're very helpful throughout. I didn't receive my order and they were able to help with that. Their products are pretty good also. The tinted serum is feels nice. The lip oil is very smooth and has the perfect amount of color.
