I'm very satisfied with reasonable prices and content. Some courses are very detailed, with enough length , covery many aspects, examples and exercises. I learned a lot so far.You must choose courses very wisely, otherwise you won't be satisfied. No problem with obtainig certificates. I didn't like only 1 course so far, so I cancelled it, and they sent me refund to buy other course (which is much better).
The content is fine until the videos stop working. Reached out to instructor, he had no idea how to fix his own video. Good luck reaching a human to help with troubleshooting. Good luck getting any refund after 30 days. Good luck getting anywhere with these folks.
I have been using Udemy for several years now, and overall, I am very satisfied with this platform. The quality of the courses is excellent, and I have learned several new skills along the way. Additionally, I have earned multiple certificates of completion, which is a great way to track my progress. One of the things I really appreciate about Udemy is that some courses prepare you well for certification exams, which is a nice bonus. The variety of topics available is impressive, and there is always something new to learn.I once accidentally purchased the wrong course, but the customer support team handled it professionally and quickly refunded my money. This experience showed me that Udemy not only provides great learning opportunities but also cares about its users.Personally, I have had no issues with the website—only benefits. I would definitely recommend Udemy to anyone looking to learn new skills at their own pace.
I bought the complete data science, machine learning, DL, NLP Bootcamp, 99 hours, krish naik. All marketed as udemy "premium content",The videos were unserious and hastily assembled garbage, some of which appeared to be copied from text books. After trying for 15 hours, I discovered that the same videos were given away for free on youtube.Udemy refused to pay me back alleging "consumed too much". I complained to "trust and safety" and they replied with maximum rudeness. What a waste of time and money.
I strongly advise against taking any course from Michael Peggins on Udemy. My experience with him has been overwhelmingly negative. He has demonstrated a pattern of dishonesty and has created unnecessary conflicts rather than fostering a constructive learning environment. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he often shifts blame and reacts in an unprofessional and immature manner.Additionally, fairness is not a quality he upholds—his behavior can be vindictive, and he seems to go out of his way to retaliate against those who challenge him. If you’re looking for an AI instructor who is ethical, professional, and supportive, I would recommend seeking alternatives. Be cautious before engaging with him in any capacity.
I’ve been using Udemy every week for the past year or so, learning a lot of valuable information from great instructors. The platform itself isn’t perfect, but it’s good enough. Sure, the courses aren’t as good as some of the more expensive ones, but they’re still an excellent value for your money.
I thought I'd share my perspective as an instructor on Udemy - something that has become more important since the company went public.Instructors across the board are seeing a drop in revenues for as much as 60-80% at the moment. These months are generally the best time of the year but since they have gone public and failed miserably to meet shareholder expectations the prevailing theory is they are simply taking the money out of the hand who create the content and putting it squarely in the hands of shareholders. It's a topic lighting up the instructor forums right now and one of those topics largely ignored by admins and management. When i first joined in 2019, Udemy guaranteed students lifetime access to content they do not own and put a blanket ban on instructors sharing their content anywhere else. And for the longest time they have tried to hold instructors to this agreement despite radical changes ion the way they promote, share, support and pay instructor work. We've seen dwindling support, no instructor protection - from student reviews or even other instructors and I've seen bullying and personal attacks rife in the instructor forums that have led to people deleting their content and leaving their platform. Often this bullying is from "star instructors" enforcing the status quo.Morale is extremely low in the Udemy instructor community and Udemy fails to even comment let alone do anything about it. Their prevailing attitude is for every angry person who leaves, 5 new instructors will take their place and this has driven they way they treat and interact with the instructor community.
I purchased a course called Worldbuilding Workshop. Overall, I rated the course a 3-star; it was pretty basic, and I left a review on the Udemy site. However, I rate Udemy a 1-star.They advertise a 30-day money-back guarantee, so I requested a refund. Granted, I watched the entire course over three days, hoping it would improve. It did not. When I asked for a refund, a link popped up indicating that I had watched too much content. That is fine; I get that, but I wanted to know how much content is too much in case I order another course and it turns out to be subpar. I first tried to inquire with the chatbot, but that went nowhere. Then I tried contacting Udemy to clarify the refund policy, but the email returned me to their chatbot assistant. There is nowhere actually to send an email and receive assistance. I already tried to get an answer to my specific question with the chatbot, but it kept referring me to the general refund policy. The refund policy page states:“A notable amount of the course has been consumed or downloaded by a student before the refund was requested.”This language is vague–how much content is a notable amount? Is it 5%, 10%, 20%. I did not find this information on the refund policy page. Obviously, this buyer’s beware experience is not leaving me with a good impression.Like I said, I'd rate that course as a 3-star and the Udemy 1-star.
Not what I expected from the video course and I cannot even have a refund, as "I've watched too much of it".I hoped it would get better at some point, but it was hopeless until the end. I won't buy any other course from this platform, also considering the unclear and deceptive refund policy.
