I subscribed to a Product Management course in December 2024. I've not had the time to complete the course due to my work schedule. Now that I've got some time to do the course, the course has miraculously disappeared from the platform. This is highly ridiculous! No purchase history, NOTHING!
Knowledge is free, you're buying a knowledge platform and that is so true here with udemy. So, the instruction is mediocre at best. I've juxtaposed their web development course with LinkedIn learning's same style course and the latter is considerably more thorough. There is little to no instructor/staff support for issues in the programming content (i.e. If a video wont' load, applet not function etc...), so if there is something wrong- it may never get addressed. You may find some solace in other course-purchasers' sentiments/solutions though. Everything I've learned is publically available and open source- you are buying a service and mainly a platform to a single person's perspective on a topic; and that could be either poor or truncated.
I see that the courses on Udemy are useless and do not provide any valuable content compared to the amount that we pay. I highly recommend learners to avoid using this website for many reasons as stated below:-It looks like most of the instructors have no experience in the fields that they present. Anyone can create a course and just upload it with no verification from the editorial team.-The courses are not free, therefore, learners expect a much better content when they pay for courses. Therefore, I request to return back the money that I spend on the courses.-Many courses are built on questions copied from LLMs such as ChatGPT. Therefore, why do I have to pay for such courses while I can get the same questions from ChatGPT which is free?????-The correct answers of the asked questions are pretty obvious to guess. What is the added value of these shitty materials provided by Udemy?-The review and ratings of the courses are not representative and do not show the reality. Only 5 stars are shown up while other reviews are deleted.I feel so disappointed by the low quality of the courses on Udemy and I will not pay any penny on this cheap website.
I took the yearly subscription and I have access to a variety of courses regarding my occupation field. I recomment it to either begginers or advanced users who want to enhance their skills. All in all, it is an affordable training platform in case you choose the yearly subscription (11 / month - 132 per year) and also when you finish your course you take your certificate and you can attach it in your Linkedin account.Thank you.
I have taken courses for a couple years and they were ok. Courses were overall so-so. Some good, some average. The platform was relatively straightforward to use and worked - for me. But NOW, things have changed. Some (not all) videos refuse to display and there is NO way to contact a human about the problem. You go in circles and circles with their "Help" screens, eventually find a "Contact Us" button which does NOT work. I screwed around with it and eventually figured out that it does not like either my Windows 7 machine or the last version of Chrome I can get for it. I also see that it does not (officially) support Linux although Android mobile devices are supported (8.0) and above. So, I am increasing my rating accordingly. Just finished a course that was quite good and very inexpensive compared to all other sources.
Total garbage! Udemy allows anyone to claim they're an expert and create courses without any factual accuracy or quality control. I’ve reviewed courses in topics I know very well, and shockingly, many "teach" completely wrong and outdated material. For instance, some mock exams contain incorrect answers!Udemy is a joke and holds zero credibility among employers. Listing a Udemy course on your CV could even hurt your reputation. To make matters worse, they remove negative reviews at the request of course creators, even when you provide factual evidence to back your claims. Avoid wasting your time and money on this platform!
Apparently their "Support" channel begins and ends with a bunch of pointless "Help" articles and an AI chatbot who just links you to those articles.I bought a course, then found out the course was not nearly what it claimed and wanted a refund. Apparently having viewed 3% of the course is enough to deny a refund and there are no humans to talk to about that, so I'm just out that money. Garbage practices, garbage company.
