Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort is a complete sham. Their sales representatives are slick and deceitful, and they use every trick in the book to sell you a timeshare. They lure you in with a free vacation and then subject you to an eight-hour sales pitch filled with lies and high-pressure tactics. Their claims of luxurious resorts and worldwide travel opportunities are nothing but hot air, as we were never able to book a single vacation through them. Even worse, they stole over $9000 from us, leaving our family in despair. I would strongly advise anyone considering a timeshare with Westgate to run the other way and not look back.
This hotel was horrible the rooms on the six floor are outdated , my bathroom tub had mold around, there were stains on the carpets . The desk in the room look like from 60’s with dirty marks all over it . The bed felt like you was lying in a rock then there was blood on the sheets . To say it’s over two hundred a nights it’s not worth it . I so want my money back pls don’t stay here then they have to serve to ask about west gate vacation package pls I wouldn’t stay here if they paid me : it’s was horrible the worst birthday trip ever . After we check out I had to go to the doctor behind my back for those hard beds . People please spend your money elsewhere. I have pics to show how bad the hotel was ?
When I think “Westgate”, I no longer think of the fun and exciting vacations I was promised. Now I think of all the frustration I felt when I initially found out that everything the salesman sold me on was a load of BS. I think about the disappointment my family and I feel every time we try to book a vacation and can’t because there is never anything open. I think about the irritation of being defrauded and still expected to pay tens of thousands of dollars for nothing. I have one week that can only be used during specific times AND only during odd numbered years. This makes it terribly difficult to vacation. Funny how in the multiple hours of being harassed, no one mentioned that I would also have to pay fees to separate my week on top of the ridiculous amount of the monthly payments. The irony now is that I am working more to pay for a useless timeshare and not spending as much time with my family. What a joke.
The rooms are ok and renovated some sort, the problem with Westgate is them trying to sell you into a scam time share. Don’t do it even no matter what price the salesperson tells you. Things you should know about your contract: You have 10 days if you’re in Florida to cancel your contract without any penalty. Please don’t fall for it all you have to do is some research and you’ll find out it’s a scam. I’ll never stay at another Westgate because of other reasons but the rooms and amenities were ok.
We are writing this review to share our experience with Westgate Resorts. What was supposed to be a short presentation turned into nothing but a high pressure sales pitch filled with misrepresentations and lies. The presentation was led by Ryan Chaybee who made a series of claims that we have since discovered were blatantly false. Ryan started by offering us a 2-bedroom suite and we inquired about whether the HOA/maintenance fees were subject to change. Mr. Chaybee emphatically told us they wouldn’t. Additionally, he claimed that we could sell back our time to Westgate if we decided not to utilize it, and even claimed that Westgate would buy back our timeshare if we were no longer interested. The point that influenced us to purchase the most, however, was the claim that we could rent out the timeshare to earn a profit. Using this as an investment vehicle or recouping all the money we spent on the timeshare, both claims that Ryan Chaybee made multiple times, are what ultimately drove us to purchase. To be clear, the basis of our entire purchase was built on fraudulent claims by Ryan Chaybee and his associates. To date, we have paid over $8,000 to Westgate Resorts and haven’t been able to book a single trip. To make matters worse, the maintenance fees that Ryan told us wouldn’t increase have shot up nearly $100 in a year’s time. This is preposterous! We never would have gotten involved with Westgate had they been honest with us from the beginning.
If I had never crossed paths with Westgate, my life would have been so much better. After a 4.5-hour presentation, my wife and I left with a timeshare. What we didn’t know at the time was that we were not getting what we were sold. Our salesman told us we could rent the timeshare out and make some additional income, but that has never worked out. Furthermore, they made untrue statements about the maintenance fees and the existence of a resale program. They said that we could sell the timeshare back to Westgate or participate in their sale offers, but we later found out that this was not true. Odd, since that is supposedly how we bought the contract because they bought back a timeshare from another owner, and all we had to do was pay the balance. Then there was the financial obligation…our agreement says we would pay $1,119 for maintenance fees during even years and $0 during odd years but our bank records indicate we have paid far more. The only price that was mentioned was the $16,900 purchase price and nothing was disclosed regarding the interest. Nothing about this transaction was honest.
Scammers! Liars! Heartless! I want to give as many negative stars as possible! Worst company EVER!! I don’t know how they can sleep at night knowing how they suck people dry of their hard earned money!!! They lied about when we could use our week, lied about the $800+ dollars it would cost to stay “peak season” at our own resort! 6 different departments and they keep passing us from one to the next saying they don’t have the answer because it’s “not their department.” Please Beware! Worst mistake we ever made. They will suck you dry!
I was scammed by West-gate Town Center, and made to believe that i was going into a real estate investment by one of their so called agent. Unknown to me that it was all lies. I managed to make payments for over 30 months, until i realized that i was just being reaped off. I made attempt to go to Westgate Town Center in person with my wife to file the complaint, rather, they tried to lure us into signing and going into another contract to make us pay more. I have been depressed and needs help in getting away from this scammers, who tried to continue to extort me
Worst dining experience I ever had at a resort. Offered a horrible, cold, inadequate spaghetti buffet as only lunch item at Smokehouse Grill. Truly awful. The only thing edible was small salad bar. Rest of the very minimal offering was cold. Told they we’re having trouble with hot plates. Ran out of the canned tomato sauce. Still charged full price. I cannot say enough bad things about this place. Would never go back. Staff was unconcerned and essentially said they were having a bad day. D decent place would have closed and told guest they should go to one of the other 2 dining locations on property. It was simply terrible.
We were swindled into buying a timeshare with Westgate without proper explanation after a long sales pitch. The sales representatives exaggerated the benefits and downplayed the costs, and despite upgrading, we still have availability issues. We were introduced to Westgate while on vacation at Disney and agreed to take a tour in exchange for a free night. However, we were subjected to high-pressure sales tactics for hours afterward. We were misled about the timeshare's usage, costs, and rental income. We were not given important information, such as cancellation timeframes and interest rates. Westgate has already been contacted directly about our issues, yet they have not bothered to respond. This whole experience has been infuriating!
