WESTGATE sales representatives are AMAZINGLY CORRUPT! They conned me into purchasing not one, but two timeshares in two days. I was so excited to be in Las Vegas and was offered a $100 spa credit and $50 gambling credit just to sit in on a 2-hour sales presentation. Why not? Well, I declined their offers over 4 times and after 5 hours said yes to get out of there. After thinking about the potential income opportunity presented to me by my sales representative– being able to rent this out as an Airbnb, I decided I needed more points. Needless to say----this was a complete lie and now I’m stuck with a worthless timeshare and nothing but bills to pay, including all the product related fees that were never disclosed.
Westgate is the worst company with which I have ever dealt! Not only did their staff badger us into making a purchase for hours, but they never told us any relevant information. We have now learned that this is not a real estate investment with the ability to appreciate, there is no option to rent the unit and make additional income, and there are no Disney discounts! Instead, we are unable to book any vacations, despite paying THOUSANDS of dollars, we are constantly subjected to bills for hidden costs that were never disclosed, and we get constant phone calls to attend upgrade meetings. We will NEVER attend one of these meetings again! My biggest fear is that this obligation will be passed on to my children since their employees refuse to help us out of this. Do not fall for their tactics!
Westgate scammed my wife and I! After luring us into a presentation with free shows and food, we signed a contract for a timeshare. We spent 8 hours in this “one-hour” presentation. The salespeople were aggressive and pushy. We were COERCED in to signing. They kept throwing offer after offer at us through multiple salespeople. There was so much information flying at us, but it all ended up not being true. We were told the reservation system would be easy to navigate. When I actually tried to book a trip, I couldn’t do it! After being told I can book trips at a moment’s notice, I found out I’d really have to book several months in advance. When I finally got a reservation, I could only get 4 days. The representatives at Westgate aren’t helpful either. I tried to ask for help to make a reservation and was told they couldn’t help, call back in a month. What fantastic customer service!
Every year they give me the run around with getting my time share. This year we called at the end of April 2022 for a March 2023. I was told that they have nothing available for owners but they have places available that have not been sold to rent but as an owner you cannot have them. They are such a scam. Also trying to get out of a summer one and they told us that it was worth $50,000 said we could sell it but they will not take it back for free as I just want out of the yearly fee. How can I sell something that even the resort does not want? Avoid Westgate like the plague
This has to be the worst business we have ever had to deal with! We have everything paid off and they are STILL refusing to give us any real options to get out! They state that as deeded owners that we have the right to rent, sell or transfer any rights of ownership at our discretion but yet they do not have their own options to release members who simply have no use for their timeshare anymore? We find that EXTREMELY hard to believe! There has to be some type of release! We do not understand why they are holding us hostage but we are DONE with it! The fact is that we have wasted our money on something that we have never even used. Anytime that we tried to schedule a week we were asked to pay even more money on top of what we already paid to the HOA and that was just absurd. We have had to make many life changes and have gone through many types of hardship due to this timeshare yet they have the nerve to deny us a way out. Our faith and our trust in Westgate are completely diminished. The fact that so many people from this company have lied straight to our faces is just appalling and we honestly do not know how any of them can sleep at night. We want some of our money back and we want out!
We have been suckered out of money on a property that we have been paying mortgage and HOA on and we haven't had the chance to step foot on the property as of yet. And not to mention every time we turn around they are wanting extra money for an error an agent or the system has made on their end and no way should we be held accountable for the agents or the company not ensuring that their agents were properly trained before allowing them to step out on the floor to assist owners or potential buyers? As of this month our HOA's and Mortgage were current until I received a call from a WG agent earlier today informing me that we would not be able to utilize our vacation time until it is brought to current??? When the last conversation we had with an agent he assured us that our account is current and in good standing. When I checked online we had a remaining balance of $0 shows. How is this so????? I go back and forth with the agent and the supervisor for a bit. Then I ask them to run the tape because the calls are being recorded for training and quality purposes.. Oh now they are not allowed to do that. Then wth are you recording calls for??? I kindly let the super know that I would be seeking legal counsel and contacting the BBB from this point fwd. People work hard for their money and to be given misleading information and unfulfilled promises, and horrible customer service is BAD for BUSINESS! And Westgate needs to TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY for the LIES that they are TRAINING THEIR REPS TO SELL/TELL property to customers! For the amount of MONEY INVESTED in this SCAM, we could have taken plenty of vacations to FLORIDA ON OUR OWN!!!! - I don't feel the need to be verified when you're taking my money.. Hopefully, other readers will see this and stay clear away from WESTGATE RIP OFF RESORTS
This is getting exhausting trying to get answers on our account from anyone at Westgate, especially the Executive Team. It just shows the true colors of how this company operates and treats people. It is just adding fuel to the fire of the many reasons why we are wanting out. What is going to take to get anyone to answer? They refuse to give us options to get out of our contract! We have been battling this for a very long time. We are tired of being held hostage and bonded to people who could care less about us. The representatives put us in this mess by breaking out all the tricks up their sleeves to tell us false promises that have absolutely no value. They have asked us to send supporting documents to our claims of these people lying to us. Who has that type of documentation when it is all done verbally by these representatives that will say WHATEVER to make a dollar! It is an insult that the company will back up these liars they have working for them as it is clear in reading other reviews of a lot of other innocent people. They REPRESENT Westgate, so if you condone this type of behavior then these “bad apples” don’t fall far from “the tree”. We do not understand why someone can not do the right thing and release us. This is beyond cruel for them to continue to hold us like prisoners. We want answers NOW!
Do not get swindled by Westgate and their various attempts to get you to sign a Contract! Westgate made us a BUNCH of FALSE PROMISES/HOPES. We were MISLED, LIED TO, MANIPULATED, and DECEIVED. Westgate promised us FREE GIFTS, and it’s all for NOTHING! You can book online at Expedia.com, Booking.com, etc., and get more bang for your buck! AND you won’t be tied down to a Contract. These ruthless, conniving Salesmen are 1000x WORSE than when going to buy a car. SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY, and SANITY!!!
Criminal charges need to be filed! This band of thieves continues to lie, cheat, steal, swindle and much more. They have been sued multiple times and lost every time. It’s unfathomable they are allowed to remain in business, and have swindle sites in multiple states. I fell victim in Nov 21 and have been researching every angle of their fraudulent, unethical and criminal business practices. Trust and believe, shutting them down is my mission and I’ll not stop until WGR ceases to exist. I set up an email account dedicated to collecting data and am overwhelmed by the number of people who have shared and everyone’s experience is almost identical to mine. westgatetimesharefraud followed by the shift two character then the letter after f & the other spelling of male plus a dot and u know the rest if you would like to join my group in standing up against Westgate Resorts. Simply stated, their sole mission is to make money by any means. My desire to take them down drastically intensified when I saw a promo for a new reality show about the revived construction efforts of the owners home. They began a decade ago and if you’ve seen the 2012 documentary you understand the owners and why morals don’t exist in their business. Please please please reach out!!
If time travel was real, I would jump into my time machine and use it to go back to the day I was tricked into purchasing a timeshare with Westgate. They are not people with morals, those salespeople they have there are despicable, they will say ANYTHING to get you to purchase a timeshare. They will lie, deceive, and most of all pretend they care about you, but they don’t, what they truly care about is money going into their pockets. We have had the most disappointing experience with Westgate Resorts. If anyone is reading this just, please keep in mind, if you ever visit a Westgate property please run as fast as you can if any type of sales representative approaches you. Don’t fall for their sales ploys and tactics they use to trick you! They will offer you gifts, tickets, etc. but those gifts and tickets aren’t even worth it because you will get trapped and suckered into purchasing a timeshare! They will not stop until you have signed that contract, they are very pushy, use pressure, and just LIE. Since signing that nightmare contract with Westgate our finances have been affected negatively which was not disclosed by the Westgate staff. I mean, why would they? If they were honest, there would be no such thing as timeshares. We were completely blindsided by their deceptive sales practices.
