HIGH PRESSURE ALERT

HIGH PRESSURE ALERT! Westgate Resorts are relentless, whatever you have been “promised” it will not come to fruition. There is nothing “Free”, there is never “just 90 minutes”, you have “Won” nothing but potentially a lifetime of heart ache. They are not associated with, nor can you gain access to Disney Resorts by investing in Westgate, as we were told. This is not Real Estate, as we were told. You can not “return” your timeshare, as we were told. This is not a good investment, as we were told. In fact, it is lousy investment of time, emotions, and money! To summarize, Westgate’s salespeople tricked us into buying into this scam by playing to our emotions and flat out lied about every aspect that appealed to us!   At the time we were engaged and were thinking about our future and having kids. The salesperson mentioned that Westgate ownership would allow us to take family vacations to Disneyworld and Disneyland and that was something that absolutely appealed to us, but if you are unaware finding accommodations at a Disney resort is an exercise in futility. The allure of buying real estate into exclusive resorts where only members could stay, gave us a sense of pride, but we’ve discovered that just about every online rental website offers their resorts for far cheaper than what we pay as members.  Now that we have this enormous waste of money, we have found it nearly impossible to use. We were told that we would have availability whenever but learned that this isn’t the case...even when we’ve searched over a year in advance.  The level of debt forced on us with a worthless product is suffocating!

I can’t believe Westgate gets away with…

I can’t believe Westgate gets away with the things they do…or that I fell into their trap. The reps talked a good game about the “fact” that we could travel twice a year, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I was lied to about being able to get out of the contract if I wanted to, so now I’m stuck with a useless timeshare that isn’t what I thought it would be, nor is anything close to what I was sold on. Then there were the hidden fees. If on the off chance you can get a reservation, be prepared to pay even more to use what you’re already shelling money out for! I was even told that I could use my timeshare to make some money. That comes with a $99 hidden fee with no guarantees of the points being rented out! Seems like Westgate only takes and never gives anything in return. So far, I’ve tossed away $10,000+ for nothing.

I have had a HORRIBLE experience with…

I have had a HORRIBLE experience with Westgate Resorts, and I feel totally used as nothing more than a financial doormat. Logically, I understand that being lured into a meeting in Las Vegas, by a creepy wrangler of sorts with promises of “gifts” for 30 minutes of my time, wasn’t my smartest moment. In the end, the only thing I have been “gifted” is a monetary drain that they will not let me out of. I have NEVER been able to use this timeshare despite my best efforts. Every time I have searched for something there is never availability. Yet I was told I could rent this unit out, use it as an Airbnb, or sell it back whenever I wanted to. I STILL have not been given a copy of my contract which does not seem like it could possibly be legal. I was told that I would only pay $6300 for life, but this was a complete lie. With interest and hidden fees, it comes out to way more than that. This might not seem like a huge commitment but as a single mom, this has been a devastating blow. I tried, in good faith, to sell it to someone but have had no luck. I even had a friend who told me he would take over my unit for me and continue the payments, but they were “denied” the privilege of owning with Westgate. Everything about Westgate Resorts points squarely toward a scam, I am not sure what my next steps could possibly be outside of getting a lawyer.

accommodation as the one we stayed at…

accommodation as the one we stayed at the first time we visited the westgate resorts and we never had the opportunity of see the place where we were purchasing our week on. Definitely outdated my husband was on a business trip and he was in a need of using a computer and what they had it was a super old computer that did not work. This is terrible we pay 800+ for maintenance and seeing this it makes us feel that we made the biggest mistake of our lives. I’m supper disappointed and in top of that we lost the week that we never used due to covid. It was not any comunication regarding that or at least we never received it. If we could get rid of this obligation with westgate we will do it in a heartbeat. I had higher expectations and I wouldn’t recommend you westgate to anybody.

Scam!!

We stopped in the Westgate in Las Vegas to check out the gaming and got hustled into “ a free breakfast and $150 to spend in their casino”. We had a very charming young man who says he was pulled in from his VIP clients to help us. After a crowded tour of this “very limited offer”, we were hounded and badgered relentlessly in an incredibly loud room. There was a sudden price dropping and discounts for being military/medical/first responders. No matter how much we stated that today was not an option, they continued to push. When they seemed to back off and send a woman over with our “gift package” she continued to try to sell us on yet another deal. I was so furious I was shaking and just walked out. I am tempted to spend my last day in Vegas standing outside and warning people before they walk in. Paying for bail would be worth it to keep some hopeful family from being scammed.

Do not book a vacation with Westgate…

Do not book a vacation with Westgate resorts. I went online to book a vacation from an advertisement on FB for $59 for a Gatlinburg TN 3day 2night stay, the advertisement says nothing about you have to make 100k to book it. When I called to confirm my dates I was told because my husband is on disability and does not make 100k a year we could not stay at their resort. Westgate is discriminating against people with disabilities.

I'm so unhappy.

I'm so unhappy.. I was was one of the stupid people that bought. I have tried to book a year in advance and 2 years and there is never nothing... I can only go to Orlando or out of country. They have given me free certificates for a getaways and it's all same. This was suppose to save me money but instead I'm paying twice as much bc incan not use this.. I'm paying bill and paying for vacations. So disappointing and suggesting you rethink before you buy..

Yes I went in for a timeshare tour…

Yes I went in for a timeshare tour today and I found out while I was there that my debit card was hacked and I was on vacation so I was 8 hours away from home and I was very interested in purchasing but the money that they wanted down I just didn't have because of my car be had and they were super friendly and everything until I told him that I could not purchase because my card was hacked they went from really nice to very rude and insulting really fast and they tried to get the money that I got for doing the tour and I explained to them that I had to get home they didn't care about that or anything and they were very rude and also I explain that to them and I wasn't interested but after that experience I will never purchase a timeshare for them because they were very rude and if this is how they treat people of color doing a sucky job at customer service and I was actually considering it but after the way I was treated today I will never do a timeshare from them
