Westgate is a joke

Westgate is a joke! They try to take advantage (and usually do) of the misinformed, misled people that go there looking for an investment or top notch vacation plan. They sell you dreams that are simply lies...will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear get you to sign their contract. All of the rude salespeople work on commission so if they don't get someone to sign a contract they don't get paid! Most people have no idea what signing that contract means and get themselves caught up in a world of debt. The numbers they crunch along with the lies they tell seem unbelievable and it is!! Don't be foolish and get pulled into the hype. Read the reviews and research the company prior to signing your life away...just like you did when buying a car, or a house! Don't let ANYONE pressure you into buying something right then and there on the spot! NO MEANS NO!! Start ignoring them or look up legal terms to throw at them and believe me they will allow you to get up and walk away. Don't worry about the rudeness, it's like theater to them, you're a pawn in their play.

Do you want to be taken advantage of

Do you want to be taken advantage of? Would you like to be lied to constantly? Look no further than Westgate Resorts! When we bought our timeshare, we were told we could use it when we wanted with no extra fees. That is not true at all. We ALWAYS end up with a fee for something when we make reservations. We already pay about $7,000 a year, why do we need to pay extra fees?! In fact, the total of our loan was never given to us. We agreed to $33k, not the $71k we now owe after interest!During the pandemic, we had a bonus week that expired in September 2020. I thought that since COVID-19 was out of our control, Westgate would be willing to extend it, but no. Since the pandemic, we’ve been wasting money on something we can’t even use and have been offered no help at all from this sham of a company.

Westgate Review 1

Westgate lied to us about the total price of our timeshare and that is just the tip of the iceberg with their lies. We were told the unit we were buying was roughly $13,000. We have paid about $26,000 for a unit we have only used about 2-3 times, and we still owe a little more than $5,000. We later found out we had a period to cancel but it was too late by the time we received our contract which was approximately a week later. Makes me think they do this on purpose to keep the sale. The main reason we agreed to the purchase was because we were told Westgate had a buy back program and if we ever wanted to sell, we had to come to them first and a fair offer would be made. When we tried this, we were told that Westgate doesn’t buy timeshares!

The reps trying to get you to invest in…

The reps trying to get you to invest in time share are dishonest miss leading in information. When asked about how much access we would have to investment he would take conversation in another direction. It’s not profitable as they make it seem. You would have to go through process to know. They try to lock u in then make it difficult to exit investment. Make reports to credit report negatively Then tell you u can’t get out of timeshare. It’s a scheme, don’t bother. Westgate located in Orlando or anywhere else. 16,000.00 and more not worth it…

SCAM ALERT!!

SCAM ALERT!!! Use extreme caution when doing business with Westgate. My wife and I were coerced into an expensive contract based on lies from the “knowledgeable salespeople” we dealt with. They did not disclose any of the extra fees associated with the timeshare and even said we could MAKE money by renting it out. What was supposed to be an investment became a financial burden. We agreed to the outrageous price of almost $23,000 but what we didn’t know is that with interest and fees, we will be paying more than double that amount! That does not include the annual maintenance fees. What started as $850/year is now well over $1,100/year.In over 8 years, we’ve only been able to book 4 trips, 3 of which were not where we wanted to go. We paid a $200 booking fee each time. Don’t they have enough of our money? It’s so difficult to book trips, it is not even worth the effort. We are stuck paying what will be over $50,000 for mediocre vacations… IF we can even get one! WESTGATE IS A MONEY PIT.

Westgate will lie

Westgate will lie, lie, lie…and none of their management or executives seem to care. If you purchase with them, you will NOT… Be generating Rental Income.  Have a Real Estate investment.  Gain access to private and exclusive resorts. Be able to easily access or reserve anything vacations. Have access to ANYTHING Disney related. What you WILL experience is… Extra fees for the privilege of using what you “own”. Maintenances that steadily go up in perpetuity. Employees taking your DL to run credit checks, without verbal authorization. Followed by…the same employees opening a Westgate Credit Card in my name to pay for a down payment on product I DID NOT WANT. Westgate does NOT adhere to State and Federal Laws when reviewing the contracts by omitting truth in lending requirements and interest rates or disclosing rescission periods required by law.   The amount of deception and shady business tactics that occurred during our experiences were so extreme that we are shocked they are still allowed to operate legally. Their methods are clearly intentional tactics so people can’t leave and are pressured so intensely they have no other choice but to buy. Our entire relationship with Westgate Resorts was built on a lie.

Given my time again, I WOULDN'T BUY TIMESHARE FROM WESTGATE

Seriously, DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE FROM THESE PEOPLE. Whilst everything they offer is documented in a very discerning and extensive legal document, there are pitfalls galore - let alone continuous attempts to get you to upgrade.I have been with them since 2007. Now in 2021, a week costs me £1100 in maintenance fees. I deposit weeks to use for the future - but there's always a fee to release. £120 per week per time. Your ability to deposit weeks for future weeks is not clearly noted and differs from your calendar year of usage. If you don't deposit in deeded calendar, then you lose the week (or are at least forced to use it as we found out when trying to work around covid travel restrictions). No consideration for international travellers - as was said to me, no covid policy, business open as usual. Unbeleiveable disregard for you after you have handed over £'000s. Benefit to them, you walk - they resell your week or you continue on the bandwagon of money, money, money for them. You have been warned!

WESTGATE TIMESHARE AND MARIA BORJA SCAM AND FRAID

I was scammed by Maria Borja and Westgate timeshare and two years after I found out she was lying I called her about the false promises and she told new lies!! We bought tickets for Alligator Tour when in Orlando but was told I had to go to Westgate to pick them up and when I got there they said we had to go to a breakfast meeting which was a timeshare presentation to get the tickets I had already paid for. Maria was high pressure sales and said that good parents would want to buy something to leave their kids, even though we are only 30 years old and she started talking in Spanish to us to make us feel guilty. We said we could not afford it, and tried to leave the presentation at least 20 times but Maria says if we leave we can't get the Alligator tour tickets until she says OK. She kept us trapped for NINE HOURS and we missed the tour because it was dark. Maria and manager Leo Rodriguez kept pushing and said if we bought the timeshare unit, they would give us a $1000 per year credit to go towards the maintenance fees by renting out the unit and giving us the money and she also promised to help sell it when we did not want it anymore and that it was a good deal and would go up in value. We finally gave in, and made a $1799 down payment and financed 16K which we paid off early. Last year we realized that we were not receiving the promised credit for the fees and called Maria to find out what was going on and she lied and said they were behind on accounting due to Covid and check back in couple months, and when I called back I told her that we wanted out and she had promised to help sell it but she lied again and said that we should wait to sell because they were building a water park and it would increase the value of the unit, THEN she would help us sell it. Maria never said she would not help us sell it, or that she could not sell it because it has no value, instead she tried to keep us on the hook so Westgate could continue to collect. FRAUD

Management, & staff were completely indifferent to their guests

I stayed at Westgate Town Center in Kissimmee FL in Mid-July 2021. I apologize for the belated review, just could not get to writing this review where my experience was negative with the timeshare room, management, & staff were completely indifferent to their guests. First, I was debating whether to take my family to Daytona Beach or stay the entire week at Westgate. I called Westgate prior to my reservation & wanted to visit the property. Anyway, I called the front desk, called again, and spoke to Manager and either got placed on hold indefinite, hung up on during a conversation and did finally talk to a Manger, would not give me permission to come on to the property to see the timeshare and was completely indifferent about the negative reviews online or me wanting to see the property. The day of the check-in pre-registered to facilitate check-in and the room was supposed to be ready at 3PM. When my family got to the hotel about 330PM on the weekend there was no rooms available, and the front desk could not give me an estimate when the room would be available it was stated could be 8-9PM before my room was ready. There were plenty of guests in the same situation, I heard many guests ask for the manager not a good sign. I heard one agent state there was no manager on duty. Hard to believe with many agents working the counter where the hotel was fully booked and not one manger was on duty to address guest concerns. No upgrade or compensation offered for the inconvenience and our vacation being impacted. We finally got into our room at 545PM the room was nice enough and did not see a cleanliness issue. Therefore, cancelled the Daytona reservation. The reservation was for 4 + people, that included our 2 kids. Well, I noticed at 630PM there was no linens for the pull-out sofa. Prior to going out for dinner asked the staff taking care of the rooms for linens said do not understand only Spanish. Stopped by the concierge to ask for Linens and blanket to be dropped off at our front door. Of course, when we returned from dinner at 915PM there was no linens/beddings. I called concierge every 30-45 minutes and got reassurance that the linens and bedding was on its way. Finally, about 1230AM it was delivered everyone was exhausted and upset not the relaxing vacation that I anticipated. Also, the safe was locked when we arrived, and this was never resolved. The Television did not work, and the terrace door would not lock. Therefore, so much for having the room ready to go for an incoming guest. During the week asked the maid service for extra towels and again did not understand. This time used google translate APP in English to Spanish and again no assistance was provided. At the time of check-in Westgate agent there was a $50.00 security deposit on the room the room was charged the $50.00 contrary to what the agent told me when I checked in. The water park for the kids it turned out you had to pay for each day admission including adults. At the local pool met a guest who used the water park found out the main pool at the waterpark was not working the water park personnel never disclosed this yet was charging full price to go into the park. We decided not worth the price was not inclined to give this property any additional business. All the activities primarily were fee based as well. In closing the customer service was so poor it would have been more cost effective and time saving to buy what I needed at the local Walmart or to drive back home as I am 40 minutes away from this property rather than waste hours on the phone with no customer service or satisfaction. Anyone who spends dollars or buys a timeshare with the intent of using this property would surely have buyer’s remorse soon after dealing with this hotel staff and management. The staff does not care about the guest and could not get any customer service for the entire week.

Held Hostage

My friend and I were looking for an investment opportunity in Branson. Westgate Resorts were very welcoming and had a great presentation. I think given some time to think it over we would have bought in but when we decided not at this time we were held hostage (until a Manager could sign off on our paperwork) we kept telling Jason (our salesperson who was so arrogant and just plain not nice to us once we said no) that we were not interested at this time. He asked every question why we wouldn't buy right then and there that moment (undue pressure) I finally told him we were done and leaving with or without his Manager sign off. Then La'Ra came over and tried to make us see why they were the very best and once again we told him we couldn't join at that time and to please sign off so we could leave. He scribbled on our paperwork and we started to go out the way we came in and he said oh no you go out the back door and go around to the front desk. It is very ironic they all preached great customer service but treated us poorly. If I do decide to join Westgate, Jason and La'Ra will NOT be my salesperson. What a horrible experience.
