I was miss informed by their staff gave they gave me a price i agreed and gave them $1K deposit but when it came time to do the inventory, they stated i only had told them i had 38 pieces that they had quoted me for. Then they stated if I wanted to add more pieces it was going to $3K more. Thomas was rude and obnoxious with me, and they don't agree on giving me my deposit back because I told them i wanted to cancel their services.
FRAUDS! WORST MOVERS EVER!I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent experience using Brightside for my relocation from Maryland, MD, to Knoxville, TN. My belongings were picked up on July 10th, 2025, and Brightside subcontracted the move to Express Movers—without informing me upfront. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for a next-day delivery (on July 11th), which I had not requested or agreed to. I tried multiple times to reach Express Movers for clarification, but they never returned my calls. Brightside’s customer service was equally unhelpful. Despite repeated attempts to get updates, including a conversation with a representative last Saturday, I was met with a condescending and dismissive attitude that felt not only unprofessional but insulting.Prior to signing the contract, I had regular communication with Brightside representatives who were responsive—until I made my payment. After that, my follow-up emails were completely ignored. To make matters worse, there is no dedicated customer service email listed on their website, making it almost impossible to escalate concerns.I paid the full quoted amount on time, and on top of that, was unexpectedly charged an additional $800 via Zelle for a "long-carry" fee by the driver, Justin—something never disclosed during the booking process. They also used an 18-wheeler truck for delivery, which is extremely impractical for residential deliveries and not mentioned anywhere in the initial agreement. The delivery was scheduled with only a day’s notice, and unfortunately, I was out of state due to a family emergency. While I don’t fault the Knoxville delivery driver—he was courteous and unaware of the full context—the overall experience has been chaotic and stressful.Brightside Movers are the worst. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Be aware!!! Set you up with a cheap price, you know if something is too good to be true don’t do it. We said we got 20 boxes of clothes and kitchens and all the others stuff. They put 20 SMALL goddamn boxes in there, who even use that box to move??? If you think you can sleep good by scamming ppl well you should sleep good enough before you go to HELL!
This was the most corrupt and dishonest group of people I’ve ever met in my life. They lied about being a moving company. They lied about being attached to the Better Business Bureau. They lied about the price. They damaged my bedframe, destroyed a $10,000 scooter, warped the tire on another $5000 scooter, and lied and kept our property for 27 days locked up in a warehouse in Compton, California. The movers showed up at Midnight to a duplex in a quiet neighborhood and unloaded the stuff. Every member of the staff is a liar, a cheater, and a thief. This is the most disgusting group of people I’ve ever met.
I had my mom needing to move her 2 bed, 2 bath stuff from Florida to Georgia, i spoke to Nick who quoted me $2000 for the move if i signed up same day, i expressed that i was still looking at movers. The following day i called back and they quoted me $2850 so i said ok. Biggest mistake i should have run when they told me in order to get that price i had to lock it in by paying half upfront.they wanted ACH but i chose credit card for an extra $45....thought i was protecting myself. So they ran down a generic list of items to be moved and i just answered yes and was told i needed a specific list, i said sure because i was just busy with work. My mom was selling her place so it was a bit hard to nail down the actual day due to having to fix stuff after inspection, moving stuff to storage for showings etc. Two days before the move i and my sister call to give the completed list and they told me $9000 to move the stuff, i almost passed out. i told them there was no way i could pay that much to move the stuff so i requested my $1322 deposit back and was laughted at. We had to be out in 2 days or risk the sale not going through so i had to scramble at the last moment to hire a 16Ft POD which did not hold everything so also had to rent a 15ft Uhaul for the rest and drive it to Georgia and fly back yet still they kept my $1322 . Worst Company I Have ever dealt with. If they show up in your search to move Ruuunnnnn! You cannot get far enough from them they are Predators!
My experience was awful. Please, be careful with these people. They will make you sign all documents very fast and in case you need to change your plans no matter why, there will be no excuse. Due to the documents they will be absolutely right. And you will pay huge amount of money in advance and no refund!!! Even if you will inform them a month in advance. Right after my review, you will see 7-8 reviews, made at the same time by their own employees! They all will be about great experience! Don't believe, they are just trying do not let their rating go down. And I will be writing the same bad reviews every month until this company will pay my money back.
They are the worst people to deal with after you sign the contract with them. They bait you and then totally disregarded you. And what company doesn’t take credit card or cashier’s check or personal check? Sounds like they want to get away with reporting income to the IRS. Furniture delivered with damages and going through their insurance was such a pain in my ass. They said they can’t verify the actual weight of the furniture. They broke and damaged so many pieces of my furniture. Do not use them especially when they say they only take cash, Venmo, Zelle or money order.
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!This had to be the worst experience ive ever had with any company ever. We moved from Texas to Michigan last second and we tried to find a moving company that could help us. Every company i talked to gave me HUGE quotes that we just couldn't afford. We decided to just rent a uhaul truck which would cost us just under $3,000. This company called and when I old them we were just going with Uhaul they asked if i wanted to just get a quote to see if maybe they can do better. I told them it'd have to be under 3,000 and they said they could try. The man on the phone asked what we would be moving, and as im sitting on the back porch playing fetch with my dogs i just kind of named off what i could think of. A rough estimate on how many boxes we had and then big items we have. I wasn't walking around naming off things we own as i thought we would have plenty room and that I wasnt giving him a final list of everything that had to fit in the truck. The quote they gave us was $2,939, which to me was awesome! You mean we're going to pay about the same and someone will do all the heavy lifting for me?! sign me up!!! They made me pay the deposit to schedule the move which was $1324 so we paid that over the phone then they said we would HAVE to pay the rest (half when being picked up and half when our stuff gets delivered) by Money order. I had made a comment to the supervisor i was talking to that we were going to go with the 26ft truck from uHaul and he said "oh yeah we use 26ft trucks or a semi" so I thought for sure we would be good with all of our stuff. So we paid to get it scheduled and then a couple days before the move i got a call from them to confirm everything, which makes sense. The man on the phone asks me what we have and i name off what i can think of off the top of my head. The man then goes to tell me that we dont have enough room in the truck for all of our stuff...I asked how that is if we have a 26ft truck. Turns out we dont have a whole truck, we only had between 300 and 400 square foot in a truck shared with other loads. They were saying that we could pay MORE for more room in the truck and i REFUSED to give this company any more money and it was to last minute to cancel since he called only a couple days before we were set to move. So we just had to figure it out. I tried calling the supervisor (since he made sure to give me his personal number and said i could reach him at any time and he would be so willing to help with anything i needed) he didnt answer and when i texted him to call me back. He said he was on the phone with another client and he'd call me back. Spoiler alert I never heard from him again. So since I wasn't about to give these scammers any more money we had to end up renting a uhaul anyways and carry whatever they wouldn't take. So the day before we move comes and i get a call from a company called Perfectly Fast Moving. I was VERY confused because they said they would be at our house the next day to pick up our stuff. Turns out that Brightside is a company that contracts out other people to move you. The next day when they showed up and i showed them the things we had for them to move they said that the dressers we had werent the size that Brightside put on the list of items, and that the boxes were to big as well. So they said that it would cost extra because we would be taking up extra space in the truck, again im not spending any more money on this that i was quoted. We had also already gotten the 2 money orders for the pickup and drop off so we didnt have any way to add money to them. We had to end up just putting everything they could fit in the small space they had allotted for the quote we had gotten. Whatever was left we had to try to squish into our uhaul we rented. We ended up having to leave ALOT of stuff behind because we had no way of fitting it anywhere. When they asked us for payment and we told them we had the money orders they said they do not accept money orders...luckily for us they called their boss and explained the situation and they were able to take it. After everything was packed up and they were ready to leave i asked how long it should take to get our stuff in michigan and the man said no longer than 14 days. Here we are 3 weeks later and we JUST got our stuff. Thank god we are staying with family for a little while and didnt need it right away. When i got the call this morning it was yet again another group of people from a different company delivering. They told me they DO NOT accept anything except Zelle or Cash. I told him i dont have either of those and only have the money order. This man was not going to give us our stuff unless we had cash or Zelle even though the main company said we HAD to have money orders. Luckily we were able to borrow the cash from my in laws and just give them the money order. Overall this was one of the most stressful experiences i've ever had!
