Do not buy from these people (Woodblocx) at this time .Ordered a couple of weeks ago and delivered but not yet built but look ok as far as can tell but sawn ends do not look like the treatment to stop rot has been as intense as they say so will have to wait and see. My main problem with them is shabby commercial practice as I ordered a significant amount and asked if there was any discount being aware that Black Friday was looming. They gave 5% and now are giving 10%. So my recommendation if you do buy from them is wait till Black Friday and let’s hope their cash flow notices that. They have offered a discount on next order but they can whistle for that with these tactics!Live in SEast and frequent RHS events etc and will definitely not be recommending them.
Arrived on the correct date all in good condition and complete.Instruction were very clear and precise. I have now had 3 different installations from WoodBlocX and have not had a problem with any delivery or product. Will be ordering a 4th in the New Year to add another raised flowerbed to the garden.
Bought a couple of beds 6 years ago and when new they looked very good. However now the beds are disintegrating. Just pulled one of them apart with my hands and built a replacement bed for half the price. To their credit they did offer to replace or refund half the cost but there is no way in my opinion that these will last for the guaranteed 15 years. Will replace the other next.
Very pleased with the design, support and quality of WoodBlocX. I’ve replaced rotten wood log rolls with 2 bloc high plus capping, 250mm high. This surrounds our veg beds, some lengths are single walls, the most complex (and ambitious for me to build) was 3 legs. In total over 30 metres of build. Friendly and quick emails, good instructions, and good telephone support when I called to get help with a slight mismeasure I’d made. Being an amateur, the build did take longer than they estimated, but I was trying to be careful! They say prep is everything. Measure it 3 times (to be sure), check the drawings carefully, organise yourself by laying out each bloc carefully, and make sure the ground is level. Mine isn’t, so I used concrete for a level base. A few extra blocs provided came in handy as I put the dowels in one Bloc wrongly. Colour coded Blocs on the design helped. The dowel cutter is much easier than sawing!Putting a number (of holes) on the underside of the capping would help. I spent ages sorting these into different sizes and checking where they went - after puzzling for ages how to read that diagram! The build videos make it same easy, just take time to double check every step. It’s not cheap. But buying treated wood similar in size and quality isn’t cheap either then you’ve got to plan and build it. 20 year guarantee? We’ll see, but I’ve a very smart feature addition to our large garden.
! review on behalf of a friend who is computer illiterate I started my garden project in march.woodblocx seemed to be everything I needed for my not simple but far from difficult garden job.their website says we work with u to achieve your design until we get it right.so I sent pictures and measurements .before this I had already had three or four discussions with different designers from the sales team in which I told them all I wanted was to surround existing brickwork with their product I was told this was not a problem as they had done the same thing many times before. to make things as simple as possible for the team I changed the slopes to steps and curved walls to straight after a few weeks I received a design back which was wrong in both measurements and content so I contacted the original designer who assured me we will send you some design graphs to make it simpler and work with you to get it right .however before receiving the graphs I was emailed to say they were unable to help so rather disappointed I contacted their sales office to find out why ? the lady I spoke to said she was one the management team and had my design in front of her and couldn't see why my design could not be achieved as they had done far more complex designs in the past I stated maybe it was because my job was only a low cost job of 3k I was assured that it was irrelevant of the cost every job whether high or low in cost was important to them .two days later I was contacted by phone to say they were unable to help so it's now September without a block laid or even a plan from them so it would seem what they advertise is way off the mark ! Woodblocx although somewhat dearer would have been the perfect solution for my garden creating less rubble to dispose of and would have been easier than having to mix up cement so don't take what they say in their advert as gospel unless it's a simple rectangular planter forget it ! Because it would seem they are unable to do retaining walls less than a metre low terrace walls columns steps and risers and even help with a design
