Horrible Airbnb Experience – Dirty House, Construction Noise, and Useless Support!

Last week we booked a house in Hua Hin, Thailand, for 25,000 THB for 4 nights. What we found on arrival was an absolute disaster.Right next to our rented house there was an active construction site — workers hammering metal roofing, cutting materials, and making unbearable noise well past 6 PM. Inside, the house was filthy: dirty sofas, stained walls, dust everywhere, and layers of grime inside the bathroom fans.Even worse, there were two wasp nests right next to the pool, with wasps constantly flying around. I’m allergic to wasp stings, so we couldn’t even sit outside safely.We documented everything with photos and videos and reported it to Airbnb support within the first hour after arrival.Their response? They offered to refund only half of the amount!That’s completely unacceptable — why should we lose half of our money for something that was clearly not our fault?AirCover is a joke. It doesn’t protect guests — it protects dishonest hosts.We’ve since contacted our lawyers and will pursue this legally, for the principle — so others don’t end up having their vacation (in our case, our honeymoon!) turned into a nightmare.

My Bnbhost is extorting me for there negligence

My host Bnbhost did not ensure that the locks on the property where maintained. Becuase of this when I attempted to check in the locks broke and I was unable to get into the property for several hours to make matters worse bnbhost told me on the phone that this was not my fault they then proceeded to hand me over to the airbnb extortion team to charge me for the excessively expensive locksmith. Avoid airbnb + (bnbhost) at all cost if you value your money.

Horrible experience with customer…

Horrible experience with customer service as a LONG TERM HOST (over 11 years) and frequent guest.It's getting worse and the support for hosts is awful, especially if faced with fraudulent guests.2025:1) a lady booked a private unit, extended her stay TWICE to an overall length of 2 over months and then had the gall, 2 weeks after departure and not once cleaning the bathroom, to request a REFUND of over half the value of her stay.This is a low cost, family hosted unit which is used by family members when not rented out. Own kitchen and bathroom. She claimed there was dust and dirt, instead of saying this during her stay so it could have been remedied by cleaning staff. I refuted her claim and got backup by Airbnb for that, but then she requested a refund a SECOND time, and I needed to deal with customer service AGAIN. She entered parts of the building not rented to her and not owned by us, complained about this too, and stole washing detergent.She left a review with OUR SURNAME, which Airbnb is refusing to delete. They don't care about your breach of privacy, and customer service is incompetent, even those that speak some English.2) I stayed as a guest and got a nice review, but this time the host mentioned my MINOR AGED CHILD'S NAME, meaning their personal details are now public knowledge on the platform. Again, when I protested nothing was done. My child and I do not consent to this. Combined with the previous guest's review, my child's privacy has been compromised.20243) people arriving under fake profiles or third party bookings are no longer checked or removed by Airbnb, so please be careful who you rent to!A Russian guest arrived under a fake profile (from a friend) because Russians are no longer able to travel to Europe or access their money, this was extremely awkward and no support by Airbnb. Because we didn't want to make a person homeless in the winter, we came to an arrangement with the guest, but we felt utterly let down by Airbnb.

Allows illegal /scam listings

I use airbnb a lot, and anyone can advertise there, thus also scam and they do not do anything to prevent this. they claim the property is verified, which is not true. I have personally stayed in property that the host advertises on their portal but is running it illegally, when I confronted airbnb that did not want to even give out info if it's allowed or not- even though I had all the proof of staying at that specific address. The property is not only scam but also has high risk for health demage. I almost suffered CO2 poisoning in one of the properties posting on their portal- took me an entire week to recover. Please people, keep in account that a host can post anything on this site and call it accomodation- airbnb does nothing to prevent this, as they know there are way too many desperate people and hosts around for them to operate freely. If you have options and can afford financial book through other channels and do not use this platform;

I had the same Problem.

I had the same Problem.. The first guest that i had was Just Horrible... Didnt follow the rules of the House completely Arrogant.. I tried to be helpfull and in the end wrote me one start and left my House leaving the room like a camping Trash... The Support from Airbnb is Just Horrible.. They dont protect the Hosts...

Airbnb is broken

Airbnb is broken. Over the last couple of years I have had a plethora of issues with the properties I stayed at many of which were never resolved. I believe most could have been avoided if Airbnb implemented a real vetting system or practiced genuine accountability. Most recently, after a conflict arose with a property I stayed, Airbnb prevented me from leaving a review. I’ve been engaging with them for two weeks asking them to fix it. Every new ambassador demonstrates lack of knowledge or care. Many have given me condescending advice due to never having familiarised themselves with the case. One ambassador called and messaged me after 2AM while I was asleep, then claimed they could tell I’d read the message 😳 The conversation was then terminated, like many other ones before, forcing me to start the process all over again. Today is my deadline for leaving the review and I still don’t have a solution. I can’t help but feel that the ambassadors have been intentionally stalling while the review period expires.

Stay away from this scamming machine

I tried to book a room in cape town, paid for it. 5 minutes later, i was informed that I my booking was cancelled. Delay in refund: 5 to 15 days. How on earth is it legal? They offered a credit and we booked another room. Same scenario. After wasting 5 hours with their support team, they couldn't find any solution (i suggested to refund me my direct instant transfer and they replied with the usual "unfortunately, we don't do that"). Bottom line: my money is blocked, i have nowhere to stay and they don't care. Please avoid these clowns!

Air Bad & Breakdown

Tried to book an apartment. I followed the procedure and even received the confirmation page saying my booking request had been submitted and I only needed to wait for host confirmation within 24 hours. Yet no message or email ever arrived — very strange.The next day, still with no updates, I called assistance. Only then was I told the operation had been put on hold due to a failed verification. By that point, the property was gone and I had lost my chance to book it. I was forced to secure another apartment at a higher price.The most frustrating part? I paid with the exact same method on the second attempt and the booking went through without issue. Clearly not my fault — yet I am the one who ends up paying more.As usual with this platform: poor communication, poor customer experience, while the company’s executives are worth billions. Customer service only stepped in to deliver bad news. Overall, a very disappointing and costly experience.Air Bad & Breakdown
