Review Time
Wish I'd read the reviews before going. Free consultation but, by God, they get it back with what they charge for treatment. Waited over a week for them to get medication in then was charged over £60 for an item that is under £30 online! Receptionists finish their conversations with each other while you're literally stood in front of them! Shocking.
This company is a disgrace. My dog was booked in for an operation in Blackburn, on the day of the operation i received paperwork for a patella operation at a cost of £995, after the operation i was told they did a cruciate operation which cost £1800. Nobody has responded to my email when i questioned this as i know for certain my dog did not have a cruciate operation as he had a cruciate operation the year before on his other leg and couldn’t walk on it for 3 weeks, yet after the patella operation he was walking on it after a week.My balance was then £1882.50, my insurance paid out £1500 in April and i personally paid £382.50 at the end of May yet today i have received a FINAL LETTER threatening me with the balance of £1882.50 being sent to a debt collection agency when everything has been paid. DO NOT USE BOLTON OR BLACKBURN THEY JUST RIP PEOPLE OFF
I have been calling 7 times Failsworth and nobodty picked up the phone. Called the emengency and TIA told me that you are short staffed and i have to call the general enquiry during the week. I work every weeek i cant be with the phone i cant call. HORRIBLE SERVICE
🛑 stop!! 🛑 My advice Please do not use Animal Trust Vets Rhyl !! I took my boy in yesterday for suspected IVDD (paralysed rear legs) we arrived at 10:30 am and was taken in for consultation at 10:50am first words from the vet was is he insured? (She had already wrote him off) she then proceeded to pin prik his rear end to confirm he had no feeling in his rear legs. We shared our concerns about his hot ears and head and was told that is because he is in pain (no temperature check?) we shared our concerns of him not having drank for almost 24hours and she pulled up the skin on his neck and said he is hydrated enough! (No further check) she told us he is in pain he would be given 2 injections one is for inflammation and one is for pain. The one for pain is opiate based and that is the only information we was given on that. Now upon reading it this drug can cause respiratory problems!! He was given the injections and we was out of the practice by 11:10. We was given another appointment for the following day to see how he is doing and in that time we was given some other medication to give him after the 24hours was up this didn’t make sense why would they prescribe medication for after the 24hours but insist we make the payment of £122 then for it? On the way home (10minute drive) he began to pant quite heavy and we assumed he is just becoming uncomfortable with everything going on so we got home he was placed on his bed and his panting got incredibly worse so we phoned the vets back and explained what’s happening time is now 11:50am. We was told to rush him back which we did and when we arrived he was taken in and we was told he is experiencing some kind of heat stroke and his temperature is 41+ and his oxygen levels had dropped. They got his temp down but then he started with convulsions so We was unfortunately given no other option but to have our boy put to sleep. We are in so much shock at this point We are emotionally broken we brought our happy healthy boy minus his back legs to the vet for help and feel we made the wrong decision in doing so! This was chases first and last visit ever to a vets and this is not just to pass the blame the vet herself has held up her hands to say she did not do the checks she should have done and if she did chase may never have received those injections. They said they would squash the charge for the euthanasia of our boy and is that their way of an apology? We have so many questions and no answers. Again this is not to discredit the whole practice as I’m sure they have helped many but how many others are out there that this vet has made mistakes on? I want answers!! RIP chasey boi ❤️
Well 1st experience with this shower of s....t , the Vet was 20 mins late to work I was 1st appointment. Now 11 days after sending a sample for my very poorly dog/s they are not answering the phone (nothing new there) the "Bot" is less than useful, dodging answers and cutting connections. We paid £180 for the test , rec'd a receipt and then next day an email demanding payment. We are no closer finding the solution and still on the phone to them now with no reply after 10 mins. p.s promised call back 2 times now and it never happens? DO NOT Move to these people for the sake of your pet/s...admin is absolutely terrible.
I used to take my pet to animal trust the staff don’t like it if you ask questions about your pet’s condition tbh Google told me more about hypertrophic cardiomyopathy than the vet did the last vet put on tge notes that I was “aggressive and confrontational “ because I asked a question about my cat to which he didn’t know the answer to because they hadn’t examined my cat but if they bothered to read tge notes they would know also didn’t have a clue that my cat was taking diuretic tablets which means they hadn’t read the notes beware of this vets the receptionist told me they might have to add an extra £200 incase of any extra but couldn’t tell me what extras then put on tge notes that I was hard work I find they try to rip you off I would not recommend this vets
I have been with Bolton Animal Trust for a few years. Never had a problem. My elderly cat had several teeth out about 2 years ago and all went well. I'm May 2024 my cat needed more teeth out. THEY BUTCHERED HER. I had 2 further appointments with them trying to find out what was going on and staff lied to my face to cover up. Had to go elsewhere for corrective surgery.
After putting in a complaint because of how front desk receptionist treated my mother because she was late for an appointment for a kitten and not answering the phone for over an hour she was refused to be seen because she was twenty minutes late - due to public transport -even when she said she would wait to the last appointment she was made to leave. This was in front of a fairly packed clinic so it was humiliating. There has been no reply to this complaint from the 30th April so I had to go to another vet to get the kitten vaccinated. The kitten was on their health plan so it had to be cancelled and at least they did apologise for what happened but not the vets. My dog was still on their list and he had an appointment with the vet, who I would never complain about because he is good but, after being told that we would need more treatment that would cost over £1.400 we asked if we could give his records to the PDSA to look at. They sent the records but took us of their client list. And this is after spending thousands of pounds with them. This is not something I do gladly as they did save my dog last year but they really can’t treat customers this way charity or not!Update: After gaining my mothers dogs medical history it shows that when a staff member reduce the dogs medication and we question this and they said we are mistaken it clearly says he should be on what we said not like the nurse/front desk staff said, so the dog has been put though more pain. It also confirms we was charge a full x-ray when he never had one, told he had cancer then said it was mistake after a week, we only receive an over night stay money back because he was left in in own faeces, and we had to remove him because they would not, and they cant deal with large dogs. Its now been over 20 days since we put in a complaint, and apart from being remove form there list by the head Vet for complaining and wanting to get a second opinion( which we have done before) we have heard nothing, but told head office is dealing with it.I would not recommend the Ashton-under-Lyne or Bolton branch, the chance you get a good vet is out weigh by the poor other staff, and they will break or not follow the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ code of professional conduct. We have given them till the end of this week before we move to reporting them to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons - to reply to our compliant and questions from his records.
Took our 11 year old dog to Bolton animal trust today the vet nurse was so professional and caring with my nervous dog having nails clipped and anal gland’s treated thanks 😊been going here with our pets for over 10 years
