After reading the reviews we were skeptical about using Animal Trust. We registered our Bulldog with this company when he was a puppy but due to being a little further out, we used a more local vet. Fast forward to this weekend just gone, we noticed our boy has snapped/bent his dew claw part and was sore. I rang our usual vet and their out of hours emergency call out fee was £400+I couldn't justify this amount of money for a dew claw so we got intouch with Animal Trust. They got us in quickly, even though out of hours. Honestly, the whole experience was brilliant! The staff were friendly and took the time to speak to us. The environment was very clean. On arrival, we were met by a lovely receptionist. We then saw the nurse and due to the upset our boy was showing we decided on a slight sedation to remove claw and clean it up. We left him there to return later. However, we received a phonecall earlier than expected to say the sedation wasn't needed and managed to do it without as our boy settled once we left. We already paid for the sedation which was refunded to us on collection. The staff were very open and honest and they could have hidden this fact to keep the profit but they didn't. I will 100% be using these going forth! I can not fault anything on this occasion and I was very impressed.Thank you for the care you gave our boy during his visit.
My girl passed away on the 28th August here after an operation to remove her spleen which had a mass. They rang to say she had crashed & did I want them to do cpr, she came back & crashed again but was told she was alive when I went to her in the back. I have been traumatised being told she was alive but I saw no breathing whatsoever. They already had the form & pen on the floor. I felt so pressured but the vet said it wasn’t the operation! A nurse was in front of her doing the obligatory. I dont know what time my girl died nothing. I signed was rushed into what I wanted private cremation but wasn’t asked about a casket just scatter box or something. The female vet said I’ll just get the medication think it was a ruse as my girl looked already gone with her eyes, but in way through to the back I asked if she was still with us she said yes! no rise in her abdomen nothing to tell me she was alive. It really has been traumatic.I feel we have been Definitely lied too. Whole situation was poor & will never use or recommend to anyone. Lexie had an operation earlier in the year & the make vet was fabulous at Manxman & the Bolton branch after. But this was just wrong a a few levels. Absolutely dreading going back there to pick her up as we dont know what she will arrive back in won’t be what I wanted I guaranteed. No response from the rubbish manager nothing. I want an investigation. UPDATE My partner picked my girl up this morning from Blackburn, well in a box with paper note in envelope much loved pet of my partners name Im the owner. Our previous dog his box oak one was in a box then placed in a lovely bag with a card etc the extra details. Then you get this Lexie is in a crap cheap so called wood box the base is tough not even smooth supposedly it’s bamboo not what I wanted, the name plate yes her name on but cheapens the look of this is even possible they have like put a pattern around it. Absolute s..t. I’m furious at this.
Quite rude and abrupt lady on the phone, no sympathy shown at all , very matter of fact. Our rabbit is part of our family. Impossible to get a reply via the messaging service they claim to offer, the lady said I haven't tried to contact them this way, even though I've tried for 3 days, and had to resort to using the emergency line, therefore clogging up real emergencies.
I’m so glad I looked on here and read the reviews of how poor this place is and I’m not imagining it The blonde receptionist is absolutely awful I’d traveled from Stockport via Liverpool to pick up my boy and all the streets in Birkenhead are having road works I was going to be a few minutes late and her attitude was like talking to a robot. She is rude and no empathy at all and is totally in the wrong job She would be better as a prison warden I will never step foot in there again I’d give it a -10 for the receptionist It’s stinks also wee everywhere and there was even dog poo trailed in it’s disgusting
I changed to here 2 yrs ago from my regular vets due to rising costs. The way I have been treated by Animal Trust is disgusting. Their attitude stinks - totally uncaring , unsympathetic, inflexible towards the client. I drive a long way to it and for an out of towner its so hard to find off a huge Ring Rd with numerous lanes, junctions etc. Even with a map , when you are driving its impossible. When I've eventually found it, after having to ask people for directions, its been after ages of driving around to get back to where I went wrong, and the staff there have zero sympathy or understanding. "2nd visit I was a bit late for the reasons above. Despite my long journey they refused to see me and all I got from Ruth, the mgr, was "you've been before so you know where it is". How rude. It was a yr since my previous visit and i'd driven half way round Dewsbury before getting to it!My dog was so stressed she was barking her head off so I was having to shout over her to be heard. Ruth accused me of shouting!!!! I had to go home with an untreated dog. Yesterday I had the same experience. I was only 5mins late due to overshooting the multi lane junction. I arrived so stressed out and immediately the receptionist pointed out I was late (the last thing I wanted to hear) and said they wouldnt see me, I'd have to rearrange. Not even a suggestion that if I was prepared to wait (which I would have been) they'd see me asap. I asked for the mgr and got Ruth again. Again my dog was barking madly from stress so I had to shout to be heard over her and again she accused me of shouting!!!!! and of being rude the last visit. I told them that was it. I was going back to my old vets - Abbey House in Leeds. I later got an email from Animal Trust saying I had been abusive !!!!!! ( because I was shouting over my dog!!!!) and striking me off, even though I'd already told them I was not going there ever again. I drove from there to Abbey House in Morley who were so so lovely and were disgusted at the attitude I'd just received from Animal Trust . Despite not even having an appointment they said if I waited they would see me, which I was more than happy to do, and they saw my dog and treated her. Their attitude was caring, friendly, concerned . Animal Trust should take lessons from them. I suspect management at AT just instruct receptionists to immediately tell anyone arriving a bit late that they cant be seen, with not even a consideration for if they could be seen if they are prepared to wait. I will not even try to describe what a ..... I think the mgr Ruth is. They are lucky I did not resort to abuse because many people would have .
Staff and vets are great, but recently, the not "opening the diary" to book appointments 4 weeks in advance is very frustrating and inconveniencing, what is the point of it?. It wastes both my time and Animal Trusts time. After each regular 4 weekly injection appointment, I now have to enter a date in my own diary 2 weeks after the appointment, to remind me to make the next appointment and hope that I get one in the 2 weeks now available for my pets monthly injections and at a time and day that i can take him with shorter notice myself. Used to just attend, pay, and book the next one, i dont think booking an ongoing 4 weekly appointment after each visit is a lot to ask.
The man on reception has an attitude problem and put the phone down on meThe response on google is a perfect example of their toxic culture of no accountability trying to put the blame on me trying to imply im lying when my whole reason for making a complaint in the first place is there imcomptencey that theyve lost my records.I even provided her with phone records to prove. The owner never emailed me like she promised instead wrote this silly repsonse. Very slippery woman indeed
I am actually disgusted at how Walter has been treated or should I say lack of treated since coming to BoltonSince being diagnosed with diabetes and I have repeatedly sent in his diabetic reports that you have requested and not once did anyone have the decency to respond on those reports and advise what we needed to do I brought Walter in with a limp and you wanted him to wait over 3 weeks for his X-ray As I noticed it getting worst I brought him in on the 8th for his X-ray The phone call I received from the vet to say in her words, so Walter has cancer you either amputate his leg or we put him to sleep! The total lack of empathy in this call was disgusting My parter rang back to get more information as I was in utter shock and was greeted with so have you made a decision? Again absolutely zero empathy! We collected our boy from the vets to be left 40 minutes waiting for him only for a receptionist to hand him over like he was nothing No details if he has been fed or of the X-ray just oh the vets have gone home I’m only the receptionist Again! Vile behaviour! My partner had to demand a vet return to give us even an ounce of decency and information Walter was a part of our family for over 10 years, he was loved and I expect a vets to treat animals with the love and care that they deserve and that we pay for! I am mortified at how he was treated and how we was treated and I strongly recommend that you train your staff on how to show common courtesy to people especially when they are faced in difficult timesI had to take Walter to a private vet last week who explained given his health the amputation should never have been given as an option and the kindest thing to do would be to put him to sleepThe kindness the vets shown me on that one visit was far more than Bolton ever did! You should be ashamed of your staff’s behaviour
BIG BIG SHOUT OUT!! to Animal Trust at Bolton spoke to a lovely lady called Jade at 9.00am Friday morning and had an Appointment for 10.30am ....I was soooo grateful .
