I wouldn’t recommend this place to…

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!! My cat was acting strange, I knew that something was wrong with her. On the journey to the vets my cat became unresponsive to which I started doing CPR. I managed to keep her alive till we got there. They took her into the back and they did more cpr on her. The vet who came to speak to us was horrible and accused of us doing something to her? I’ve had my baby for serval years she was my world! I was heart broken but her manner was outrageous!! No compassion or anything. She was just like yeah.. She’s going to die, do you want us to carry on CPR? We don’t know what’s wrong with her but she’s very unresponsive… The vet just didn’t give a toss. She said she needed to euthanised her as she had no brain function due to her having lack of oxygen. She let us through to say goodbye. She clearly thought we where stupid as my cat was lay on the table already dead. She decided to euthanise her anyway and pretend to hear her heart stop which was about three seconds after she injected her. What a load of sh*te!! I repeat my cat was already dead. I couldn’t voice what I knew as my nine year old son was very distressed by the situation. Scam artists!! They knew they couldn’t change us for anything if she was already dead.I was so disgusted by the experience. I brought her home and arranged for her to be cremated elsewhere. These people don’t care about your animals all they care about is money!!Saskia you’ll be forever in our hearts we’ll love you always 🤍🖤

I moved to Wallasey from Liverpool just over a year ago. I decided against taking on another rescue dog after my last one died-feeling i did not have the funds for vets fees. However, a basset hound came my way-needing my help! Thanks to the Animal Trust's low costs i have been able to adopt him and to pay his medical bills. He has improved my life no end and got me walking out and about-so both of us have benefited.I know when i go that treatments are not being suggested 'to make money'.All the vets are skilled and patient. i like the way i can book which vet i want on line-and this system is easy to use. It is easy for me to get to by bus, and right next door to Birkenhead Park, so i can walk him there after our visits.I don't think it is anything the Animal Trust can change, but my one 'quibble' might be that it is difficult to get an emergency appointment. Whilst waiting there once i overheard a distressed woman come in and ask for an emergency appointment 'to get a "2nd opinion' for her dog. This was obviously a last resort for her and she was trying to do the best she could for her pet. Unfortunately, Animal Trust did not have an appointment free for several days.I appreciate how busy the clinic is-but this was rather sad.

Avoid

Our dog was medicated for allergies since being born. Never once was she offered a routine blood test in her life. We requested one to be done to check her as she was throwing up severely. Turned out she had renal displasia and her kidneys were severely deformed causing them to not work properly. So when we thought we was dealing with skin problems because of her allergies, her food was actually poisoning her this whole time resulting in the skin flare ups. Anyway, the vet refused to diagnose her without us paying thousands for more tests… when he actually admitted on the phone and told us that there is nothing he can do for her and there’s nothing he can give her to repair the kidneys. we took her for a 2nd opinion elsewhere and it resulted in my beautiful girl being put to sleep.. she just rocketed within a few days of animal trust having her in their care. Each to their own experience with these vets. All my other animals have been transferred elsewhere. I’m not saying my girl could of survived what she had as they are trying to say it was heredity- without evidence. but we could of known about it a lot sooner than we did. She as been medicated all her life and was pts at the age of 3. She is still a baby herself. The vets should make it mandatory for dogs that are medicated for life to have routine blood tests which is something my dog was never offered and I feel she was failed. They litterally waited till she was 3 to tell me I can put her on a healthy dog plan and it would reduce her medication- when I’ve been paying full price for 3 years. How stupid. They only have your answers when your lining their pockets… and they call themselves charity based. My dog was left to rot with a kidney problem. May she rest in peace, now finally not irritated with her life.

THANK YOU

THANK YOU. Animal Trust Shrewsbury have given my puppy a new lease of life. Lenny was born with a hard and a soft cleft palate, he was very unwell and had a small chance of survival. I needed to find a surgeon that could operate on Lenny and Animal Trust have been amazing. Lenny is a Miniature Pinscher and was the runt of the litter. He only weighed 1.2kg at the time of the op, as he was so hard to keep weight on due to the cleft palate causing so much discomfort when he tried to eat. Edward at Animal Trust saved my dogs life. Without this life changing surgery he wouldn't have lasted much longer. Lenny is recovering brilliantly, he can eat and drink without it coming out his nose! He can sleep all the way through the night without any breathing difficulties. He can exercise and play like any normal puppy should. I nursed Lenny for 9 months until he was a safe size to operate on and I needed to go somewhere I could trust - Animal Trust made the whole experience so much easier and made a very upsetting situation into the very best it could be. I am incredibly grateful. You have given Lenny the very best chance at life. Thank you endlessly.

Poor care and indifferent to welfare

My dog went into Ellesmere Port Animal Trust for a small operation on her anal gland. When I went to collect here she was hardly the same dog, she was hardly walking. I had to take her back in the next day. She was on a drip for the next couple of days then they discharged her even though she was not eating or drinking. She died two days later. I have complained but heard nothing back so far. I didn't even receive the tests they did when they operated. Heart breaking

Still Devastated.

I have written below about the awful experience with Shrewsbury branch. I am still racked with guilt and so very sad as we could not pay their extortionate prices. My beautiful loving 2 year old cat. Please think twice before going here with a loved pet.

Terrible service

Terrible service, receptionists only make eye contact when they are ready to serve, they are rude and the whole running of the place needs a shake up. Also they over charge when the pet is insured so they can cut down bills for those without. Actually fraudulent, my claim was for treatments my dog didn’t even have

Took my dog to The Animal Trust…

Took my dog to The Animal Trust Failsworth and was told he needed an x-ray. The vet said it would be £300, I went to reception to book him in and they also said £300. I didn't have the full amount when booking so paid £50 and would pay the balance (£250) when he has x-ray. When I went to pick him up after x-ray receptionist asks for £289 ! I explained I had been told the full amount was £300 and I didn't think I had enough in my account, she wasn't interested and made me feel like some kind of criminal. So apparently they say one price but charge you more after treatment has been done so you have no option but pay up.
