Called about unwell bunny 4.51pm Call…

Called about unwell bunny 4.51pm Call handler said to bring him for an emergency appointment at 5.00pm. We live approx 15 mins away, however rushed to get there. Sat waiting until 6.00pm when asked the receptionist how long she was not helpful at all. In fact fobbed us off and said can’t say how long. Fair enough was an emergency appointment, but was given a time- waiting a-bit was expected. 1hr 20 mins later asked again and was told the appointment was booked in at 6.00pm not 5.00pm-sorry about that. Spent over 1hr 30 mins waiting with a sick bunny and young child still they could not say how much longer despite accepting appointment time error. There seemed to be plenty of vets calling in different customers. Some boosters/routine checks up. At least 10 people went in whilst we were sat with our very poorly bunny. Was told there is only 1 emergency vet and loads of other vets and hence long wait. Firstly they give us the wrong time rather than ask another vet to have a look at him…tell us we’re unable to say much more waiting time so we left and went elsewhere. In that time our bunny deteriorated Shame on you receptionist.

my dog was unwell over the weekend so i checked there website saw they had all the equipment rang and the receptionist was more interested whether she was registered and would not see her lucky enough i had registered her whilst i was waiting for them to open and midafternoon it showed online it had gone through so i rang back and got an emergency appointment on the monday evening the dog was checked visually temp checked and an injection given and was told to bring her back if she did not improve the next day i rang told them told reception she was still unwell and given an appointment for thursday that night she was really poorly so i looked for an emergency vet and animal trust have one in elesmere port i rang them and they told me i would have to pay an out of hours fee £130 i said fine so i took her they did an ultrasound and told me she had a biological infection in her womb and needed an emergency hysterectomy and they needed the pre op money then around £550 and the op would cost £1100 not sure if that was on top of the pre op and it needed to be paid before the op i agreed and left her there thinking she would be ok but at 5am i got a call asking me if she could be put to sleep i said no and went there but the place was shut up with no lights on, i got through to the vet on the phone and she told me she had a heart attack, the money they had not spent was refunded.i am looking to make a complaint but that seems to be easier said than done

NON PROFIT UNTIL YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE MEDICINE THEN ITS DOUBLE THE COST

Whilst this claims to be a non profit vet and yes they don't charge consultation fees they rip customers off with the cost of medication. My dog requires heart medication vets cost over double of what it costs on line even having to pay £22 for a prescription (which is a rip off itself) it's still cheaper to do this that purchase directly from them

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Our cat has needed dental work and we took him to this vets on the 1st Dec 2022 in Birkenhead, they took a blood test and gave metacam at a cost of over £80.00 we were then trying to get hold of the vets all over December to no real answer, finally managed to get him in to be seen on the 12th January, were we paid £369.00 for his dental treatment and told to bring him back on Monday 16th for fluids, We arrived Monday to be told it was going to be another £369.00 for the fluids and then extra for more blood tests on top of more money for antibiotics, then their dental machine broke, we call them to ask how long it would be as our cat needs to be sorted asap, they cant give us an answer so we ask for our money back to take him elsewhere, they then take another £129.00 of the £369 we paid for what seem to be invisible extras, AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you are willing to hand them your entire savings as that is all they are interested in

Terrible vets

Very poor communication failed to inform me of treatment and prices took my dog with eye infection vet suggested eye be removed and that he could not see through infected eye both suggestions were incorrect after treating with eye drops eye gel and antibiotics eye infection cleared and he can see fine if I had listened to the vet my dog would have lost an eye when he did not need too I was charged £95 for less than £20 of treatment they may not charge for a consultation but they make sure they dramatically increase the price of treatments to cover the consultation and treatment I will never be using Animal Trust again

Expensive meds and they don't value your custom

My dog needed some meds, Shrewsbury AT charged £159.50. I objected but they were implacable, I said I'd take half of them but no that couldn't be done either without a new prescription 'which will take a while' - on account of a family emergency at home I couldn't wait. They also patronised me by telling me that they couldn't let me walk out without payment. Did they think I was about to run out the door? I then discovered that I could buy the same meds online from AniMed for £93.09, so they are charging an additional £66.41 - or, 72% - more than AniMed. I requested a partial refund, which was flatly refused. As a result I have transferred my dogs and cat to another vet in Shrewsbury. As I was at the other vet this morning, they called my wife to confirm the transfer, but she told them she couldn't discuss the matter on account of the same ongoing emergency. So they promptly called back, my daughter took the call and told them what was happening but they weren't interested, again the language was somewhat unsympathetic to the situation, it has ended up with daughter transferring her dogs to the other provider also. AT used to be excellent but their med prices are very high. I don't know what's happening there... When I (and then, my daughter) told them that we were transferring they told us that we were welcome to go wherever we want. They don't care about losing custom, and their med prices are very high. Shop around, there are cheaper med providers out there, and other vets who will value your custom.

Our first visit today. Outstanding!

Our first visit today, to Wrexham, for an ear problem with Alfie, our kitten. Appointment same day, no wait in the surgery. Lovely friendly vet, took time to explain cause and treatment. No consultation fee, we were charged only for the medication.Cannot recommend highly enough

What a gem.

Very clean throughout. Friendly and efficient staff. No consultation fee.Appointments offered for next day. My old whippet Milo had dental extractions on 02/12 at the Barnsley branch. He was very well cared for and is recovering nicely. Only downside of note is that i was not advised that the time allocated for his surgery would be just 90 minutes, regardless of how much time was required for the procedure, until he was admitted for surgery. I think that clients should be advised of this timeframe before the required upfront payment is accepted. This is the reason I dropped 1 star. That being said I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Many thanks.

NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK.

I have had 2 terrible experiences with this vets now (Bolton practice) where something has been seriously wrong with 2 of my pets and the problems have not been dealt with appropriately. I have then had to go and get second opinions at another vet practice. The most recent being my dog - Holly. was seen on 01.12.22 and saw a lady vet. Holly had been limping for 2-3 days so she was given Metacam after the vet just looked at how Holly was walking. The vet did not examine Holly, did not come near to her, did not check her temperature, her heart beat, her breathing or even her leg which is utterly ridiculous. The vet went on to tell me that she could have damaged a cruciate ligament and that she may need surgery for it after X-rays.One week later and Hollys limping seemed to have stopped, we assumed she was better from the Metacam BUT she then began deteriorating drastically quick. Holly started becoming lethargic, she struggled to transition from lying down and then she stopped eating and became extremely unhappy. Long story short, Holly was took into another vets for blood tests (which showed anaemia) and an actual X-ray. This showed something on the X-ray and the vets needed to operate. The vets removed a huge tumor from Hollys leg but they realized that it had started to affect one of her kidneys which was severely enlarged. Holly had to be put to sleep whilst under sedation because had she have been woken she would have gone into kidney failure, been in excruciating pain and would have passed away in pain.I can't help but think that if the vet had examined Holly that she would still be alive now, she would have had a much greater chance of survival. But I put my faith into the vet and 'TRUST' for 4 weeks to go by and for Holly to no longer be with us at just 7 years old. Holly was a fighter and other limping showed no signs of anything to us.
