Review Time
I've recently bought a new hoodie from them, but it seems that Asket's quality is going downhill. The hoodie is showing signs of piling and small threads sticking out just after one wash and few wears. This is almost inexcusable for a hoodie costing this much, considering that I have 3-4 years old Uniqlo hoodies that have been washed bunch of times and are still impeccable. On the positive note, the hoodie looks really good and is very comfortable. In the same order I also bought a t-shirt that I already own, but the color and feel of it feels much different from the one I bought 2-3 years ago, but I returned that one.
Firstly, this is a long term review. I bought several t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, and sweatshirts in 2018 and 2019.Starting with the only positive, that's the fit, when they are brand new, the fit is great.Sadly everything goes down hill from there. The t-shirts do not last long before they start to loose their shape, the ends of the sleeves and waste start to crease after every wash and can only be fixed with a lot of ironing, this is the only t-shirts I've ever owned that have done this. After this is when the holes start to appear. About 18 months into ownership holes started to appear on the arm pits and a couple of other places on the t-shirts. While the sleeves of the sweatshirts started to disintegrate. 4 years on and the t-shirt arm pits look like Swiss cheese and the sweatshirt sleeves look very tatty. Now you may be thinking that I'm particularly hard on clothing, I'm not. Every single one of my other t-shirts and sweatshirts has outlasted the Asket ones by many years. I even have t-shirts and sweatshirts that are well over 10 years old, have no holes in them at all and are still going strong. These are without a doubt the least durable and most expensive clothing I've ever come across. They are, in my opinion, a complete rip off and a total waste of money.Don't fall for the marketing rubbish they have vomited all over their website, avoid and buy clothing for half the price and 100 times the quality from almost any other brand.
I now have a jacket, multiple shirts, socks and have tried on a couple of different pants and is now expecting the right size for those pants. Common denominator for all of them is that it feels and lasts as quality clothing should, also over a longer period of time. I love their transparency and options for re-useable packaging. Returning items was easy and customizable although not fast (probably an sustainability measure), which is fine by me. Will be shopping here whenever I don't end up with 2nd hand.
Promise a delivery within 2-4 days. After 4 days I asked when I could expect it delivered and the customer service said the don’t know when but probably next week.Don’t think they know what they are doing despite many years of experience.
I used to be a regular client and order a batch of briefs every 2 years, as well as tees. I'm quite disappointed as the quality of the briefs is way worse. After one wear they are already pilling off. You wouldn't expect that for a top quality product. The oldies were quite good. They moved to organic cotton so I guessed they compromised on quality. Even though it might be cheaper than top brands clothing, you are still paying high prices. I had better ones than last briefs for 1/3 the price. Also, the tees are not consistently the same. Two years back the fit even cotton I would say was better.
I've had a great experience with asket (although never returned an item). The quality of the clothes is really high and made to last. I've been steadily replacing my wardrobe with asket clothing. The chinos and Oxford shirts are exceptional, and eve though they are expensive they are good value. Deliveries to Scotland at least have always been on time.
The quality of the t-shirt is amazing! That said, I can't give full 5-start review as ASKET charges 35 Euros in Europe with VAT included, while ASKET charges the same 35 Euro with VAT despite shipping out of Europe. Not sure why do I need to pay for VAT despite shopping from outside Europe, and currently i'm paying double taxes for the T-shirt.
Firstly, the shirts were far too small - XL fits me great normally, these were tiny. Secondly, the refund process is broken. Returned t-shirts, was never acknowledged as returned until I got in touch with customer service and they corrected it. Then the refund never arrived. As it had been processed from their side, they referred me to Klarna (who process the payments), as due to GDPR they can't offer any more help. Klarna insist the payment should have gone through (spoiler, it hasn't). It's now been almost a month since the return was sent, still nothing. So I'm just sat waiting for almost £200 with no other options for help. I'll shortly be disputing the charge through my credit card if it still hasn't been resolved.Update: Klarna insisted it was still processing, waited another week but still nothing. Raised a dispute through my credit card and was refunded straight away, no thanks to Asket or Klarna. Never again!
