Best Western Moorings Hotel, Motherwell

Booked this hotel, for 2 weeks at beginning of August. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was reasonably appointed and functional. The breakfast, included in the room rate, was excellent with porridge, cooked breakfast of your choice, tea/coffee and toast. The major criticism was of the WiFi. Downstairs it was good, in the room it was very poor and frequently dropped out. Using multiple devices was nigh impossible due to the lack of bandwidth. The overall experience was very good, and an excellent location to go into Glasgow or wherever.

Overall a good hotel

I am a regular at the Hotel in Homestead Court, Welwyn Garden City.Easy to book a reservation via the website. The rooms in the hotel are always clean and well presented. The beds are so nice and comfortable. The pillows are soft. I had a good night sleep every time. The room comes with a desk, a chair, a kettle and cups for tea and coffee. Perfect for working on.There is a car park here for your car which is handy when you live far away and it's your only way of transport. There is a park nearby which is ideal for going on walks. Within a walking distance from this hotel there is a pub called the Chieftain, along with shops, cafes and a library. The staff are welcoming and professional. The manager knows me. He's good, he is frequently present which is what I want to see.The only downside is it can be quite expensive. And the lift is very old and slow, that can be replaced. The best thing is I get what I pay for which is a peace and quiet break outside the capital city.No matter what the season is, this is a wonderful place to come and rest. I live in London and I come here to get away from the noisy overcrowded city to do some reading and writing.Overall, a good hotel. I recommend.I will be returning for my next break in the near future.

Went to the Pinewood BW in Wilmslow…

Went to the Pinewood BW in Wilmslow Cheshire. 9 months later i find i've got a court letter for parking there. i got no PCNs thru the post prior to this . something the parking people deny (they say they sent it) . obviously i hadn't moved house or changed car. The hotel employs the parking cowboys , and they have no record of my car registration . i would have provided it had i known it was necessary . i may even have done so , but 9 months (now 11) on it just wasn't possible to rememberi only went for a 6 hour conference organised by the people who i work for. they can't do anything . the hotel is ignoring my requests to put this right . If you have a choice of hotels for your conference or your stay, avoid this one! BW Pinewood - you WILL get this sorted and get my CCJ CANCELLED or i will take action against YOU

Hatfield Hotel Lowestoft.

Hatfield Hotel Lowestoft. The Hatfield HotelGoogle review summary4.01,527 reviews5 ★ 4 ★ 3 ★ 2 ★ 1 ★ Reviews on other travel sitesReviewsSearch reviewsJo M1/5just now on GoogleExecutive Suite is definitely NOT executive. Best Western customer service disgraceful!!I used tesco vouchers to stay here in August 2023. Firstly, not impressed that price for executive room was about £30 less on Best Western than the link we had to use to process the tesco voucher code. This was NOT because of any special deals either. That in itself is very wrong! The hotel was breing re-painted externally and was looking nice. Staff seemed friendly.Good point was that the room was big and sea view was lovely. When we entered the executive suite we were greeted by a musty smell. The windows were all open and as a result there were many many tiny flies over all the windows. TV mount was for a much larger TV, as shown on room picture when selecting it, but the TV on the mount was only about 32inch.Carpet wasn't fitted well. Lots of loose rolls. Curtains smelt very dusty. Bathroom floor tiles had many areas with lots of grout missing making them feel sharp underfoot in places. Some floor tiles made cracking noises as walked over. Shower section had a shower head that was in absolute desperate need of a good clean. Very brownish looking and yuk. Bath was fine. Various items of furniture in the room didn't match and whilst the curtains and bedspread visually looked fine, this was most certainly not an executive looking or feeling room at all.We did ask at reception if we could change rooms but were categorically told none were available. Strange as the hotel did not seem busy. We asked about fly spray for the fly issue but again, no joy and not really interested about the issue or sorting anything for us at all. Very dissappointing lack of customer service.Breakfast was nice and tasty but the extras were expensive. When we gave feedback to Best Western we were told we should have complained on the day. We told them we had but nothing was done. Equally, Best Western have done nothing to refund or compensate after the fact either, all they said was they have plenty of returning guests. Disgraceful attitude. This is most certainly NOT good customer service and ultimately if you book an executive room it should be an executive experience and it definitely wasn't.Also, whilst I have cats and love my cats, I do not expect to see a cat roaming a restaurant area. No mention of it on the hotel website and no consideration if any guest are allergic.Because of the room condition, how nothing was sorted, a ridiculous very poor response from Best western from there feedback team and the fact the room cost more via Tesco link as opposed to Best Western site, I DO NOT recommend this hotel or Best Western. If Best western feedback team had done something to compensate/refund me i might have chalked it up to poor location choice but seeing as the feedback representative was equally devoid of customer service and not at all bothered whether the experience reflected very negatively on Best western, I wouldn't recommend Best Western at all.Go use a Premier Inn Plus Room instead, a lot lot better!

Best Western Queens Hotel, Perth

Booked a 3 night stay back in September 2022 for 21st July 2023. I happened to see a post on Facebook 3 weeks prior to my stay saying the hotel was closed as had immigrants staying. I called the hotel and was told this was correct and to contact Best Western directly. I emailed and to date, the day before I'm due to check-in, I've had no response, apology or even confirmation that my booking is cancelled. There is a festival on in Perth so accomodation is like hens' teeth! Absolutely disgusted!

A great short break at the Bestwestern…

A great short break at the Bestwestern Hotel in Port Talbot.Positive'sThe most wonderful staff in the world work here with nothing being a problem helpful, polite and where nothing is a problem apart from time that they have as some are doing two jobs.Room was nice and cozy. Internet was OK too.The food served was fantastic all round from breakfast to supper.Sorry to say there are several issues with the hotel itself.Being in desperate need of a massive up date and revamp throughout. We were disappointed with the appearance and the entrance area ceiling decoration was literally hanging down. Signs of water ingress all around.I dont really think the decoration and style of the foyer and bar area has ever left the mid 70's.The pool was closed during all of our visit with the alternative of a pass to the adjacent fitness center. As a gardener mysef the grounds around the outside are in serious attention and major tidy up. The rear delivery area is a very serious hygiene area with waste a massive issue. We noticed this when visiting the Spar super market behind the hotel with the sat navigation said was the entrance on arrival. I have been visiting the area of Aberavon all my life (60 plus years) and the area is as bad as I have seen it. Rubbish is a big issue in general around the hotel. Broken glass on the ground around the site, it is only a dustpan and brush job.Last point. The hotel is currently be used as a residence for people with no home. Who by the way were polite and chatty too.(Good luck on lifes journey and we genuinely wish you well.)Sorry to be so negative and one day I hope to revisit this hotel and go WOW!.

Best Western is an agent for independent hotels, Standard will vary between hotels

We stayed at the Best Western in Dover and had a terrible experience. We booked a Superior Double Room, which was so small that the space between the end of the bed and party wall was so narrow we had to walk sideways and mind the large scree television above our heads. Of the two dressing gowns one was solid and not replaced. No bottle water was supplied, although this came with the room. The air conditioning is controlled by the management and we had hot air blasting into the room as well as the sun shining through the windows. At night it started illuminating the room with a flashing light. The hand basin pop up plug would not seal, so we we wasted water when washing our hands, and when shaving I had to run hot water continuously to wet shave. I complained In the morning of our first stay. Assured maters would be put right. Nothing happened o I sent an email to the Hotel Manager. More assurances that all would be put right. The only thing that was put right was the air conditioning. The afternoon tea was limited to one pot of tea and no refill and crusts on the sandwiches. The evening meal did not match the standards of Marco Pierre White who has given his name to the restaurant and menu. After such a dismal stay I wrote to the CEO of Western and I quote, "As a membership organisation, all of our member hotels are independently owned and managed. We do not work operationally within the hotels." Be warned, don't expect standards to be the same within the Best Western Group.

Weymouth Best Western - avoid

Worst hotel room I’ve stayed in for years, rubbish flat pack furniture that’s seen better days. No sockets close enough to the bed to charge the phone. Stained walls, cob web dangling from central tacky light. Remote control not working. Short dark hair hair on bedside table. Space for a bath but only a shower. Very long wait for hot water so bland..No personal touches, not decorated/updated for about 20 years. Will not be coming back

New Holmwood Hotel Cowes IOW.

New Holmwood Hotel Cowes IOW.Upon arrival the person at reception was absolutely terrible. Rude, uninterested and deliberatley unhelpful. I was dreading future dealings with reception, however the rest of the reception staff were a delight. Therefore upon balance, I do recommend this hotel ( just make sure you stand up for yourself if 'The Rude one' is on reception....
