Leisure Club

I was gifted 2 months membership to the leisure club in my local hotel just before Covid hit. I wasn't able to use them immediately because of lockdown so saved them til things eased. Unfortunately my husband then became ill, then I got Covid and then he got Covid. When we were both recovered I asked if the vouchers would be honoured and was told they would be. Before I could use them another family member contacted Covid so they were still unused. On recovery I phoned to ask if I could still use them and was told someone would call me back=they never did. I phoned them two more times and was promised a call back that never happened. Sadly my husband then passed away. Trying to get myself back on track I visited the hotel to ask them to honour the vouchers and this was refused. My son in law then contacted Best Western and was again refused. I realise it has been a long time but really what would be lost by honouring the original purchase. Very disappointing service!

No customer care from Best Western Hotels - avoid!

I have not had the opportunity to experience this hotel chain, thanks to the BW Ariel Hotel,London Heathrow, cancelling my room booked to stay on Christmas Eve before flying out to my American family on Christmas morning. I received two emails a few hours ago, both from Booking.com, telling me my reservation had been successfully cancelled as "the hotel was no longer able to welcome me!" I booked the room 5 weeks ago in plenty of time to book a suitable hotel with a shuttle bus to terminal 3. No apology/explanation whatsoever from Best Western Hotels, which is a disgrace. I can do without this hassle at age 72. I expect that I will have to pay much more now, as rooms will be scarce with Christmas only just over a month away.On seeing the reviews on here I think that I may have had a lucky escape. AVOID Best Western Hotels, people! They obviously have no care for their guests/prospective guests at all.

Don’t bother staying here

Went to my room it was freezing no heater no hot water went down to see if I can change rooms the receptionist said it will come on soon came down to eat 2 hours later the food came out chips was cold burger was burnt and dry I came bk up stairs the room was freezing still so I got swamped for another crap room tv don’t work another cold room and sounds like a leak I’m sleeping in my clothes to keep warm and I don’t want to catch anything.

Woodlands Broughty Ferry DundeeWorst ever hotel I have ever stayed in all my years ! I’ve never stayed any other Hotel & come out feeling so unwell !Avoid room 206 as it stinks of damp & has an awful foosty smell! When we checked in we went straight back to reception before unpacking to complain about the stench!Laura at reception said not to worry as she would get Housekeeping to fix it! We went out & returned about 1 am NOTHING had been done - no plug in air fresheners or dehumidifier The smell was just as bad Had to sleep with the windows open & fan on but later on started to get a sore throat & cough with the strong odour. Could not get out of there quick enough Breakfast was a let down also I have poached eggs on toast - asked for my eggs to be soft - NOPE they arrived over cooked & rubbery Yuk

No wonder this hotel is rated so low. The staff clearly have nothing else to do except harass people. There is a bp pulse charger outside the premise which I charge my vehicle at without problem before today. After getting a lift back to the car, we were immediately harassed by the staff saying its private property and we can't park there as were not staying there (clearly no one wants to stay there) I explained we're not parking I am being dropped off and then leaving they then continued to bellow at the person dropping me off about it being private property. At least 3 people came out to shout at me in front of my child and the 'owner' I assume, took his phone out and continued to video in my face so I did it back to him. He threatened to 'take this outside' (when we were already outside ) and i advised at that point i would call the police if he didnt go away and let us leave. WHICH WE WERE GOING TO DO IN FIRST !!Clearly they don't have any business because they are too concerned about their EMPTY CAR PARK rather than the patrons who SMOKE WEED outside the property regularly. Absolutely disgusting staff, disgusting hotel and I wouldn't even recommend this hovel of a place to a homeless dog.

There are much better cleaner places.

The Welcombe golf hotel and spa, dirty and poorly maintained.Bathroom sink cracked badly, moldy bath shower seals, moldy ceiling and very grubby carpet.

Booked a twin room for two adults…

Booked a twin room for two adults (friends) and was given a double room. Adamant attitude by the hotel and disgustingI had booked two twin rooms for 5th Nov for one night stay. However when we reached there was only a double bed available. We were two adults and insisted on having twin beds. As we reached around mid-night there was no other option available to search for an alternate hotel as well.The hotel insisted that there are no other room available and we can cancel if required fully knowing that at midnight we cant go shopping for hotel

You expect two things from a hotel at a minimum, a place to sleep and a place to wash... My wife had excitedly booked us this short overnight stay as she had fond memories of the hotel from her youth and wanted to share them with me. So we thought this would be a nice relaxing overnight stay. We drove two hours to get to the location which is beautiful, the building and surroundings really are wonderful. However things didn’t take long to go down hill. The reception staff were perfunctory at best, rude at worst. For a 4 star hotel you do expect a certain level of service. We were directed though not shown to our suite in the courtyard. The suite was spacious, well appointed if dated, though clean. A decent size four poster bed, two couches, old TV, basic coffee machine. A slightly odd mix of high standards pulled down by old fixtures and fittings. But what is the first thing you want to do after getting to a nice hotel? Freshen up, be it a shower, a bath or just splash some warm water on your face. Hold on, no hot water?! We went to reception immediately after discovering this and were told to our great surprise that there was none, that an oil delivery had not arrived. Excuse me? How can that not be planned for? Did we get an apology at this point, an offer of a make good or compensation, even a bottle of wine or money off the meal we had booked for the evening? No, nothing. We were told it was expected by 5pm. It was now about 3:30pm. We were also told no manager was currently on site but was on his way. So we went back to the suite and waited. I can’t say I was surprised when no hot water materialized by 5pm. Back to reception we go and now the Operations Manager was on site. It would arrive by 6 we are told. No apology, the barest explanation around the oil delay (once again, how do you not plan for this?). Fine, 6pm or we are leaving with a full refund. He doesn’t fight this, but once again does nothing to actually encourage us to stay, we can book for another night or be refunded. Frankly, why would we ever want to come back?So, it’s 6pm and we are leaving. We drove 2 hours to get to this impressive looking country house hotel. 4 stars location perhaps, but service? 1 star is too much. How on earth at check in were we not told about the lack of water (and heating, I saw staff dishing out small electric heaters)? Other patrons were just as annoyed (and informed us that this was their second day at the hotel and they had still not had a shower) and many had come considerably further. How on Earth do you not ring your customers before they travel, or email, or tweet, something, to let them know the hotel can’t offer the most simple requirement for a stay?! We decided to drive home, our plans, evening, night and following day ruined. I have traveled a lot, stayed in tents and 5 star hotels and a lack of hot water is just not acceptable. It was a farce of poor communication, lack of customer service and terrible planning. I suppose no explanation or excuse could be offered as none would suffice. I shall never return to Seckford Hall and I will avoid Best Western establishments going forward.

AVOID BEST WESTERN COMPANY.This company advertises some of the worst dangerous hotels you would have the misfortune to stay in and when you complain they tell you it's nothing to do with them and not interested in any complaints whatsoever. Used to be a great company but for some reason they have taken on some dives promoting them as a fantastic stay. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
