We stayed one night at the bury at edmunds best western. The toilet seat was loose and swung from side to side, the flush only worked after needing at least five pumps to work, the bathroom blind had mould over it, more serious was when my mobile slipped behind the headboard onto the floor as I reached my fingers went into an open broken socket that was half missing and live!, fortunately I quickly removed my fingers. I took video and photos to prove it. Breakfast was disastrous, everything came in stages which meant your first items were cold waiting for eggs or mushrooms etc to arrive, the pastry section was tiny and soon ran out, not to be replenished even after several people requested them. On the plus side the staff were very friendly but overstretched. At £109 per night we expected more than the above.
Best western Heathrow is absolutely garbage. No AC control in the room for 2 days, freezing cold. Told it would be fixed but nothing so 2 days wasted literally freezing cold, colder than outside DO NOT COME HERE they do not care nor try to help

We stayed at the Kenwick Park Hotel outside Louth in Lincolnshire. This was our second visit. On the first which was 6 months ago I would have given this 5 stars. Although there were some problems they were quickly rectified by staff. On this visit, the food was mediocre, communal areas had been taken over by non residents, guests at a function. breakfasts were chaotic with hot food in short supply. I requested that the account for our 4 room should all be charged to one room. When we left I was presented with four invoices with random amounts on three of them. The receptionist added the four together and told me the amount which I immediately paid. On my return home I found that she had made an arithmetical error which despite several attempts, I have not been able to resolve. I also had a voucher for Best Western Rewards which were not taken off the amount charged. They did eventually give me a refund on that. I understand that this hotel has been taken over in the past few months. Not happy about that!
I booked the Oban hotel for my parents. Appalling. Despite the wheelchair emblem on the website, they are not wheelchair friendly. Many stairs to the reception. Full flight of stairs to the lift (first floor). Meal booked for parents and they had to go to another hotel for it. No disabled parking at the other hotel. My parents arrived at 2 and were told they could sit in the lounge until their room was ready. They picked up a menu offering drinks from midday until 10pm. My parents were told “no drinks” and had to sit idle for an hour. Shocking service.
An absolute disgrace.Room servicing was removed without prior agreement before departure. We were not told about this before departure or on arrival and not until we were forced to make a written complaint on the final day of a 6 day stay.Stayed at Veor Porth Manor Cornwall- don’t bother.made a formal complaint on the final day at the end of the week. The price was not adjusted accordingly and we therefore had no option to change the booking.Verbal concerns ignored during the week.No compensation or apology offered.Don’t be patient and polite with this hotel it gets you no where and you will be fobbed off.

Arrived after 9pm to find reception deserted and a touch screen for on-line check-in. It did not recognise my name or the booking number sent to me by Hotels.com. Tried phoning the help number given a couple of times but got the message that the number was not recognised. Pressed the emergency help button on the reception desk but it fell apart. I re-assembled it but no-one came when I pressed it. So found the main hotel number and spoke to someone who came down to reception. Was asked for a credit card as it was compulsory for them to reserve £20 for sundry expenses, despite me paying in full in advance by debit card. I was tired after a long drive and annoyed by this stage and couldn't correctly remember the pin for my credit card so said I would leave a £20 note, which they grudgingly accepted. Reached the room via a lift and a warren of corridors. It was cramped but adequate, with a view over a flat roof and a few minor defects in the shower room. In the morning tried to re-trace my route to the lift. Found that my key card would not open the fire doors, so I had to follow a fire exit sign that took me down some back stairs, along a corridor, down some more stairs, though the bar and eating area and eventually to reception 2 floors below. When I complained about this at reception I was told that this is intentional and that my room number did not have access to the corridor leading to the lift!! I collected my £20 note and left without enquiring about breakfast. I have stayed at 7 other hotels in the last month, including 2 by Best Western. All have been good or excellent, and this is the worst experience I have had in a hotel. I will never be returning an I would advise anyone else to avoid the Lothersdale.
Was told that they do 24 hour room service on the phone by a lady on reception, drive 5 hours with 2 children no room service, and it’s in the website?- no food as it was 8.50 and the restaurant closes at 9? Work that out. Checked in was not told what room we was in just passed a key not told where the lifts are or how to use them. Have to tap card to use the lift. Called down to reception no one picking up and really rude when they did. Would never recommend this hotel or stay in any best Weston again. Never even told us what time breakfast is so I best we will be fussing that too. Really bad hotel
