We stayed in room 40. We booked a superior double, if this is a superior double I would hate to see a standard room. We even went back down to reception to check if it was the correct room. I have seen reviews that reception was hard to find and staff rude ÷ well, walk through the main doors and in front of you are the doors to the dining room, walk towards them and as you reach them reception is on the left. One side of the queue is reception and the other the bar. It is a bit small. The staff were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. If I based this review on the staff alone this would be 5 stars easily. The deal we booked had a meal included and the meal was lovely and the young lady who served us was brilliant and so pleasant and helpful. With the deal we had late check out, we checked what time this was and was told 2pm. On the morning we were checking out we went for breakfast. I have seen comments that people have put about not being met and this is true. We stood for a few minutes then walked in and on the left is the bar and a young lady stood there greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was lovely and there was a great choice. We had also booked afternoon tea which we booked for 3pm because we could check out at 2.We returned back to our room and settled down to watch a movie to chill out. At 10:30 there was a knock on the door and when I answered it was housekeeping I explained we had late check out till 2pm so he smiled and left. At 11 another knock on the door- housekeeping again someone else. I explained again about late check out and she smiled and left. 11:30 yes another knock on the door - housekeeping another person. We gave up and went downstairs to check out and we asked if we could bring forward the afternoon tea until 1 the young lady said that was no problem and even said she could serve it straight away so we agreed. The afternoon tea was disappointing it was all shop bought and not very good quality but the young lady was very helpful and cheerful. We asked if it could be boxed up so we could take it home which she was very happy to do. When booking the afternoon tea we asked for just cheese or ham sandwiches and these were provided and actually very tasty (shame about the cakes and scones).I would just like to mention the room and the general condition of the hotel. The main areas of the hotel were very clean and staff very pleasant. The room was not superior in condition. Furniture was dated and tired. The bathroom was OK with obvious signs of neglect. There was a sign saying cation hot water- the water was not hot it was warm enough to wash hands in but was not very good for a bath. We ran the water for a few minutes hoping the temperature would increase but it didn't.Overall this was not a pleasant stay and we will not be going back but I would like to add that the staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Been here about a dozen times in last 5 years. Always functional but fine though expensive re value. Staff are generally good or at least adequate. Tonight I was told for first time that I could not sit in the bar area to have a drink and read my book because groups of people use the bar and make a lot of noise. Apparently the website says that groups aren’t allowed. Fine. I understand. But I am not a group. Basically lazy management. They don’t want to have to manage. Why have a bar if you can’t sit at it?! They can easily state that groups aren’t allowed but allow individuals or couples. Also poor wifi in rooms. Not impressed with responses to previous complaint by senior manager “Keith” on the hotel website, who has no online presence and must be a bot. Probably won’t come back.
I stayed at The Yorkshire Hotel in August which is a Best Western Premier. On the whole the hotel was very far short of the standards that not only would I expect from the Best Western, but of any decent hotel. The room in which I stayed in stank of drains and although I brought this to the attention of the front desk, who assured that this would be looked into, nothing was ever done. Furthermore, the room was very warm and the windows only opened sparingly. To top it all on my second night, I was constantly being woken up by one of the shops alarm systems at the rear of the property. Most of the reception staff were very amateurish. I shall not be using this hotel again and regarding the number of good hotels in the local area I would advise you to do likewise. Finally, perhaps Best Western should conduct a thorough inspection on this hotel and if standards are not promptly improved consider taking this hotel and others of the HRH Groups Best Western accreditation away.
Best Western Lancashire Manor Hotel. Me and the wife had a lovely time, we stayed for four nights and enjoyed the room lovely and warm. Food was wonderful breakfast and evening meal, every meal we couldn't fault it. We missed going for a walk after food due to your location but we enjoyed. Went into Liverpool and surrounding areas and came back here every night, lovely staff that are very thoughtful thank you.
Just checked in and arrived at the Best Western in Kegworth. Our room is Absolutely awesome. Just the little touches which was completely unexpected, simple, but but super thoughtful. I booked a spa and a night stay for my boyfriend’s birthday. I wish I could post photos, but the bed had 2 towels in the shape of a heart with rose petals. On the table was a plate with fruit and chocolate with happy birthday written in chocolate. Exceptionally friendly staff as well. Definitely would recommend 5xxxxx
AVOID this dive at all costs! Waited an hour to get our room, to then find it have dirty manky bedding that hadn’t been changed, massive holes in the walls, and a door that had been booted off its hinges! To then wait a further 3hours for our new room which I feel privileged as some of our oach didn’t have a room at all! And Other people had no running hot water! People ended up with bites And another with food poison it was that bad!
I wish I could leave 0 stars. I visit Norwich once a year for an event at the showground. Last year I visited I stayed in a double room. The shower in my room broke late in the night when I tried to have a shower. It was gushing hot water non stop. When asked for help at the desk the employee called Carl was unhelpful. I had to leave my hotel room and sit the reception for hours. I had the worst night sleep. Then I was told to give Best Western another chance…specifically this establishment. I requested early checking for 1PM. I was told this would be a maybe. That was fine with me. I was promised a room on the lower ground. Due my own going knee and back issues. I came back to check in for my room promised on the lower. The room allocated to me had been to my surprised allocated to someone else and I had been re allocated to the top floor. Right away from any stairs. This hotel does not have a lift either. I asked for help from the general manager called “Tony”. I was scoffed at looked funny and was not helped in the slightest. Tony’s excuse was “I’ve only been here 3 months”. Did not want to help me. When I asked for the head office number Tony raised his voice saying “who are you wanting to speak to” in a condescending tone. His colleague Abby somewhat helped me but again could only apologise. Which in this situation was not very helpful. I am disgusted with the customer I have recieved not just on this occasion but again on this second occasion. Not to mention the disgusting treatment I received last year from Carl. I was made to feel like a stray dog and a complete inconvenience. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
The weekend of the 16 July my sisters and i spent a weekend at the Marina. we had a great time; it was my birthday weekend and they made it special for us. Got given a room with a wonderful view of the sea and beach. Firstly it was my birthday treat for myself and sisters.I first spoke and stressed out Udayha; but she was patient and answered all my queries.Chelsea greeted us and was very quick and efficient, even with me again stopping her in between her trying to check us in quickly and adequately. She was not fazed. She kept our bags and was chatty and friendly and very patient.Charley patiently sorted out our massage bookings back and forth with emails and she was great, accommodated us so well without hiccups, and greeted us with a smile and very bubbly personality.Georgia is a brilliant masseuse she did an incredible job, dealing with five of us one after the other I was slightly worried, she has a calm demeanor and very friendly manner. At dinner Saturday evening the staff were great in the restaurant . Courtney took our photos dressed the table for the birthday girl (me) and it was all quite delightful. Then she made a cocktail for my sister which turned out to be very good. it was a special request, Courtney was fantastic. We were all impressed and told her supervisor the same. And finally I was so wonderfully surprised by the restaurant staff who sang me happy birthday brought out a brownie on a dressed up plate with candles a real treatWe had an great time we highly recommend staying here. No Swimming pool, is a big miss though. Jacuzzi was great, steam room and heat room changing rooms clean and tidy and a big exercise area.Menu could have a better choice of food, but I did enjoy my meal.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Would not even give 1 star Warrington Fir - 22 Jul, 2022 We booked a Executive double at Warrington Fir Grove as last July we booked at the same hotel, booking a standard double. On arrival we were given our room, which turned out to be exactly the same room as we stayed in last July. I questioned that we had booked an executive double and was told we were in one. I then explained that we had booked last July for our anniversary last year and had stayed in a standard double, but wanted to pay a little extra for an executive double this year. We paid £94.The room was exactly the same room as we stayed in last July and this year was classed as an executive double. When I questioned this I was told the room may have been updated from last year – it hadn't, then that it may be because prices have gone up – I explained that it wasn't a case of an slight increase in price. It was that you are selling room as executive, when last year they were standard and nothing has been improved. I was offered a classic double, which was in worse condition than the room we were given. (The now executive double, that last year was a standard double). Staff at the hotel said that room 38 (where we stayed last July) was an executive double. This was untrue and very deceptive at least. We were offered a free drink each and free starters to make up for what had happened. I was frustrated as GW attempted to charge us for a room that clearly was not executive (I have photos on arrival of the mirrors not being cleaned the door stopper hanging off the wall, a half used box of tissues with old used tissues put back in the box and two wonky beds strapped together …. executive??When we went to dinner, we were then told that we could not have a starter as promised as an apology after all. Unfortunately also three of the meals we were told we could have were not available (pizza, hunters chicken and the curry) so had to order a beef burger. We were told that the steak was not part of the deal – however the two people using exactly the same deal were told that they could both have steak, so they did. The two cheesecakes were not available afterwards and after 45 minutes waiting felt like joining the people sat on the table next to us and walk out.We complained atnthe time and were fobbed off and nearly a week on have no resolution. In short we were charged for an executive double – the same room that was a standard double last year and had no imorovwments – I am not sure how moral it is to change the name / category of something, charge more but not improve it at all. The fact that we politely pointed these things out but were told we were in an executive and that they was nothing that could be done spoiled our anniversary and we could not stay anywhere else as had used our budget on the deal we though we were purchasing.
Stoke-on-Trent…We arrived at the hotel car park to see that the parking charge is £14.50 for 24 hours. There were no signs to indicate that hotel patrons only paid half of that, and had I not asked someone in the car park would have paid the extra. Check in was good and efficient. The rooms however, are tired and dated and there was a funny smell in ours. The kids wanted to swim and so we popped to the leisure facilities on site. Unbelievably, they charge guests to use this!!! The changing rooms were grubby and very dated, showers were hanging off the walls and there are no cubicles to change in. Once in the pool, the children were only allowed in half of it (the entire pool is really small) Very disappointed with the whole experience. All I can say is that I’m glad it’s only for one night. I can say for definite that we won’t be back.
