This is a Public Notice of possible breach of bank account, debit card, credit card, and private data information. Twice, within one weeks' time, unknown electronic gift card purchases through this entity called "CashStar". The transaction begins pending as, "AMAZON" followed by a city name that is likely nearby, in the amount of $0.00, then the following day shows up as, "CS *STORENAME* GC" , (with store phone number), ME" followed by the amount of the gift card ($25, $50, etc.). First experience was March 13/14, 2025; second experience March 24, 2025.There has been no prior experience with this company, as online electronic gift card purchasing has not been initiated by this party. Thank you, kindly, "Josh R." for your response. The link in the email did not work when attempting to respond. We are still trying to remedy the situation, as the second ($50) charge has not been returned to our account. There has been no information as to how or where the access of the private information originated, however, CadhStar electronic Gift Card services has not refunded the amount in dispute. Thank you.
My daughter purchased a "digital Gift card" from Cashstar for my birthday. It was a $100 for Hubbl membership. I have been unable to get this added to my Hubbl credit because "I need a physical card number with a PIN", according to Hubbl who have also been less than helpful!. My approaches to Casgstar via web site have not been answered. I am in Australia.
Purchased a $100 Eddie Bauer gift card with a $20 bonus gift card. Just found out it was only good for the month of January (I purchased it in December). It is my fault for not reading the fine print but I have never made a purchase with a bonus gift card that expired so quickly. Most companies just give you a real gift card.
Same issue with me. Order went through with a confirmation email. Then another email saying order cannot be processed but charge on credit card was already authorized.Feb 3/25 update: I called their number and after a very long wait someone answered and told me that my issue will be forwarded to their tech support, and wait 3 hours and I will get an email regarding status. I never got an email so I was really anxious that i got scammed. The following day, I did receive an email that my purchased gift card was sent to recipient. There was no explanation why the purchase/order cannot be processed when my credit card was charged. Although, my issue was resolved, I wouldn’t want to go through this experience again. Purchasing something online should be seamless. I’m sorry but I would still stay away from CashStar from now on.
I along with everyone else on here got scammed I put ya 75$ PlayStation giftcard and have yet to to receive it and customer service will not respondUpdate I got my gift card but it should not have taken this long I was trying to pre order Kingdom come deliverance 2 and was delayed by this. I will never forgive you.
Absolute joke, purchased a morrisons e-gift card for my mum that said delivery time would be that day into her email. I wanted to give it to her as a gift that day but after £250 leaving my account and numerous messages trying to find out where it’s gone. I’ve had NOTHING! No email confirmation either! There’s no live chat or number to call - just a contact support which doesn’t tell you a wait time.
Well well well. Just like everyone else, purchased egift cards - cash star sent a confirmation email and within the same second sent an email that indicated the order could not be processed and thus was cancelled. HOWEVER. I was still charged from my account. It’s not even PENDING. THE MONEY WAS ENTIRELY WITHDRAWN FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT RECEIVING ANYTHING. Some BS with funds are still awaiting authorization on PayPal. Idk WTF IS HAPPENING! I NEED A REFUND RIGHT NOW! I hope your lawyers are ready Josh because I’m also COMING FOR YOU. EDIT: ABSOLUTELY NONSENSE RESPONSE, AS ALWAYS. MY ORDER NUMBER IS #CND6MYB8C7. I NEED A REFUND *NOW*. DONT tell me WHAT is going on, or should be going on. You withdrew MONEY from my account when in the cancellation email it was imminent that NOTHING WOULD BE CHARGED. A big lawsuit is coming if this isn’t SORTED OUT INSTANTLY.
ok... so, tell me why they don't allow you to purchase the gift cards, citing an issue, yet still take the money out of your account.i should've just bought it on amazon or something. didn't expect this company to be so unbelievably bad considering Roblox is somehow partnered with these dudes and advertises them if you want to buy a gift card.tldr, buy from cashstar if you want your money to be taken, and POSSIBLY refunded after a few days, maybe a month, maybe a year, all depends.
Tried to buy a Roblox gift card through them and while it said it 'cancelled ' it after I bought it, they are still holding and 'pending' my money. I just want a refund, I don't even care for the gift card anymore. Awful business, I doubt they'll help even after this is left. I just want a refund. I'd be happy to show receipts but I'd prefer to do so privately.
I have been waiting for my Target gift card from cashstar for over a week for a squaretrade claim. I’ve been told it was resent twice and to check my spam. Obviously that would be the first thing I would do before contacting. Now they are telling me that the gift card was sent via email on a certain date and it would come from cashstar. I’m still waiting. Still haven’t received it despite them telling me I did. Now why would I have squaretrade continuously cancel out gift cards to resend a new one? Make it make sense. I don’t have a working item I paid insurance for. I don’t have the $170 gift card to replace said item. I’m so irritated.
