I met with the Champion's sales person Josh Bushu. His presentation of the Champion windows was thorough and informative. Frankly, but for his presentation, I would not have known the difference between Champion windows and say Pella. He explained the differences between the warranties of the various window providers. The warranty provided by Champion cannot be beat. After meeting with several window companies, it was clear to me that Champion provided a superior window as well as a superior sales person.
I worked with their salesman John Samra on ordering our new windows. I mentioned that we wanted the double hung windows, he mentioned they could only put them in the laundry room, but not the bedrooms because of code. I told him that we really wanted the double hung because my wife or I wouldn’t have take them out of the casing to clean them. We had double sliding windows and they were to heavy for my wife to take out and clean them, so he said they had something similar to the double hung in the sliders where you just pivoted them to clean them without taking out of the casings. I mentioned that is what we wanted. He said he would put that in the addendum, because we also added another window to the original order, that window was in the master bedroom. He said he would make the changes and send me a email with these changes. I trusted him and took his word, so when I got the email with what I thought had these changes on it signed it and sent it back. I also told him I wanted to keep the old windows. He said he would make note of this. When they came to install the windows the installer started cutting up the first window before he took it out. I told him that I wanted to keep them, he apologized and said nothing was passed onto him and that he was sorry. I told that was not his fault. On the second window I asked him how we would pivot the. So we could clean them, and he said we could not do that with these windows, and that Champion didn’t make sliders that could pivot. Long story short I was lied to, and trusted that the salesman made the changes in the addendum order, after looking over it I noticed nothing was noted of these changes. I was told by John and the lady who called for the final payment not to make the payment until someone from Championed called to see what they could do and would send someone out. Well nothing happened no one called or came out. Two weeks went by and finally someone called, but only for the payment. I told them that I was told till someone came out or called me. She had someone guy named Lou call me, he said he couldn’t do anything for me. I was told that nothing was noted in the addendum about the changes to the type of windows that we wanted. I trusted that John made the changes, but he didn’t. My bad for trusting him. I will never trust anyone from Champion again. They did nothing for me.
Our overall experience with Champion was a bit of a roller coaster but with a very satisfying ending. While we are really pleased with the product, we ran into a few glitches. However, our concerns were addressed by Darek the district rep who did an amazing job of listening and problem-solving. The people who installed the windows were great as well. Comments about aggressive sales reps are not wrong but knowing that going in will allow you to make the best choices. Make sure they measure the windows if you have blinds or shutters to be sure they will still fit and be sure to ask about colorbond for the outside so you can match with trim. Look over the worksheet carefully. We will be using them again.
The salesman explained all of the options quite well, and gave us good choices to make when selecting our doors. Although the time span between ordering the doors, and having them installed, seemed rather long, the install itself was quite quick. The installation was done, professionally and quite well.
Windows are of very good quality. The quality of work that went into installation was top notch. Could tell installers took pride in their work. Had some minor cosmetic repairs, that got taken care of no problem. One window had minor crack. Got that fixed/replaced in a timely manner. Had to order replacement. Everything else was great all the way.
