Absolutely awful

Call centre and support staff are so helpful, but then again they need to be as the chargers are a “bag o s***e”! Invariable they don’t work but you know that until you have gone through the myriad and inconsistent methods for charging eg app, RFID, Contactless. The app isn’t much better!

Carnage at ChargePlaceScotland

It should be minus stars but you do not have that choice. Used EV charge Scotland today only have a plug-in hybrid so only a wee top up for an hour was what I required. Once plugged in had 3 charge not started warnings so back to start procedure then charging. After 1 hour 10 minutes stopped charging cost on app just over £2 happy days. “Reality” 4 x £35 stolen from my bank account plus instead of just over £2 charge fee it is now £3.50. Contacted the charge scammers & was informed that they charge a web payment fee of £35 that will be refunded within 5 days and because of my restarting they kindly bundle it all together and steal £140 from my account. It’s bad enough in this on-line technological world to make sure you are aware of scammers but you certainly do not expect it from your own Scottish charging provider. What a disgrace who ever is the CEO of this company I expect your resignation in the news ASSP. James.

Utterly woeful website

Utterly woeful website, app and staff. Incompetence if off the charts and can’t process basic requests like cancelling cards, sending out new ones and progressing complaints. Should be shut down. Horrendous.

Avoid this company - fraudulent

Avoid this company. I’ve never even used one of their charge points. I downloaded their app last weekend, and then received a spam email attempting to defraud me via a fictitious invoice on Tuesday. I’ve reported the email to report@phishing (.gov.uk) and encourage anyone else experiencing this to do the same

Every other review says all you need to…

Every other review says all you need to know. This service is appalling. Chargers; app; RFID card; helpline are all shockingly bad. Avoid ChargePlace Scotland for the sake of your mental wellbeing.

Take money, take more money

Used them once. They took my money, then took more money. I had to call bank to stop them taking even more money. No money returned to me. Money only flows one way... from your bank to their bank. Carger only charged 9 miles in 1 hour. Pointless.

Charge Place Scotland - Not fit for purpose

Disgraceful company you will never be able to be confident of arriving at a charger and being able to charge your EV. Been to 3 separate locations today and all faulty with broken touch screens and card readers. Clearly nobody is maintaining their network. Absolute amateur's compared to Gridserve. Scottish Government should be ashamed of their EV provision compared to England.Don't let this shambles of a company put you off buying an EV.... Gridserve, BP Pulse etc always provide a fantastic service.

The worst of the worst

The worst of the worst. I am on benefits and use a mobility car. After putting £2 worth of charge in I'm still waiting for £70 back that's on hold. Had to cancel my kids day out as have no money. Use a different company.

An absolute racket.

An absolute racket. They take 7 working days to refund the holding fees. They also take the holding fee before telling you the charge point isn’t working. I currently am owed 480 in holding fees without having a single bit of juice
