Cheapflights in addition to holafares and a few other sites all play a silly con game. You find what you think are a great deal on tix. You book. A day or two later you are told that the tix are no longer available and you need to upgrade for about double the price. If you're unlucky you find out at the last minute and then they have you be the balls. So, stick to reputable sites like travelocity or hotwire or the like. If the deal seems to good to be true, that's because it probably is. Now I'm hoping they don't start charging my credit card after backing away from their con job. Stay far away.
My 1st review ever! After I purchased a non stop ticket I realized a few days later the return non stop ticket had a 3 hour return time for a 1.5 hour flight. I called customer service and they argued with me that if you don’t get off the plane it’s not a stop. Maybe in their country of origin that may be correct but in the United States if the plane goes up and then down on a run way to a gate it is a stop. I could go on about this but nothing changed they are just a bad company with a horrible customer service department along with the supervisors.
Don't ever buy ticket from Cheapflights. Their service is bad and customer service is rude. The flight date & time keep changing and i understand that but they like to give zero promises. The customer service said will get back to me withing 24hrs and i already waited more than 30hrs nobody get back to me. I rather waste the money and book from Kiwi.com. I rather spend a little more. The trust is not there.
Worst time ever, trying to book a flight with them NEVER AGAIN, they are very dishonest (con) is a good name for them. They raised my ticket price 300+ while I was on the PHONE with them said I had to pay it...that's it.... you have to pay it. I had a hard enough time with her Indian accent, she would not put me though to a manager! REFUSED,!
I booked a flight with cheapflights on Dec 30th of last year. It was a flight from Sacramento, CA to Yuma, AZ. I bought the tickets online with a credit card, but called in today 12/3/22 to cheapflights to cancel my flight, and book me for the same flight at a later date. You supposedly can't cancel flights after 24 hrs, but he kept the original price of my tickets, canceled out the flight, and added the price of the new tickets, to the price of what the first ticket costs. Same departure times, same arrival times, same airlines, just at a later date. So this hack I talked to, at the time yesterday from India,says there are no more lower cost flights available, and the cost will now be $375 more for the exact same flight, for a total of 697.00. I refused so this con artist hack says he will reduce the price $100.00, which will now be $597.00 I stupidly agree, then later go on their site, and see the same flights and times, even at a later date, is available for a reduced price of $368.20. Not much more than the original price I paid. This guy I talked to outright lied, just so he could charged me more. His excuse for the higher cost was because there are more travelers, due to warmer weather, what a joke! These people are frauds, stay away from them. I have now disputed all charges on my credit card from them for this flight, so they won't be able to get a dime from me. They need to be investigated and shut down.
Such a shame as pre covid times I used this firm and have in the past given them glowing reports individually the staff I felt were trying to help me out in difficult circumstances but now I realise I was being taken for a ride, a long and costly one. Very sad to have been so badly let down after they'd extracted so much in 3 additional flight fees from me. I trusted the Indian based staff having used this firm before and having travelled to the same destination in India many times over the past 30 years I feel so stupid and badly betrayed and let down I made payment for the initial flight then was told my flights were cancelled NOT MY FAULT I was never sent any actual e tickets only confirmations of further flights, they told me I could get another airline that had not cancelled then that airline cancelled and the next and the next and each time I had to pay more. They fobbed me off blaming the airline and it was not my cancellation! they take no responsibility for your travel and did not refund me the full amount. I am still owed by them about £300+ They are uncontactable and ignore emails and do not return phone calls. Terrible service. Do not trust this firm of thieves. I shall never use or recommend this firm again to friends and Family as I did. They have betrayed my good natured trust. So sad and angry They now claim to be just a comparison website. This is not true, They think that you think they are a travel agent and extract as much as they can get away with. They are a " travel theft" company. wish I could now give negative stars. Disapointed and dismayed.
I have just been conned by cheap flights.They took £1380 and not actually booked my tickets. Put it on hold, got to the airport and been told I have no tickets.I had no choice but to buy them from the airport for £1700 on the spot.Stay away from this website
