Got sold a broken car, let the garage fix it only for the fault to come back but worse 2-3 weeks later. Filed a complaint excellent service and keep you in the loop almost daily couldnt fault them one single bit. Thank you Laura
Terrible at termination. Charge for something that did not happen.Opted for 'giving back' vehicle after 4 years. Their collection agency charges for two failed attempts despite no date/time agreed to their suggested appointment nor the driver arriving at location on those suggested slots. Someone explain the logic, i'm to return the vehicle, I should dictate my availability for collection and I should also be charged if I informed them that I wasn't available for the two earlier suggested slots. Not to mention these are hidden charges - at no point was it communicated that such charges can be applicable. Ongoing query
Trying to register without any success with the correct sort code and account number getting an error messageHave contacted them, but no answer so far. They have already fined me on missing the 1st paymentHow can I know what I have paid if i do not have access to my account???!!!!
This is the only company in the UK that weights its payments to get its finance charges back early. If you get a settlement, you pay all the interest, not just for the period of time you borrow. This is never explained to you, is on none of the documentation.Avoid this company at all cost
Contacted Close Brothers about a dispute with a dodgy car dealer that they provided the finance for. The car dealer sold us a faulty car that had issues within the warranty period and they are now trying to refuse any responsibility by closing the company down and saying "we can't find what this intermittent issue is though it occurred 4 times which means the car is fixed". An incompetent complaints handler called Louise decided that they will not support our rejection of this faulty vehicle because she couldn't be bothered to look through all the evidence. You can't skim through 10% of the evidence and make a decision based on this. Imagine what a shambles the justice system would be if they only looked at a small portion of the evidence on all cases. Following this, we asked for a competent person to look into this and was told a manager would investigate and get back to us asap. 3 weeks later, nothing. We called them and was told a team leader/manager will call us within 72 hours. 1 more week later and nothing! This is extremely unprofessional and a very poor level of service. To judt ignore your customers is not an acceptable way to conduct business. We have several products (insurance etc. as well) with Close Borrhers and are going to cancel them all and go elsewhere and clearly this company does not even slightly care about their customers. Happy to take your money but when you need their help, might as well speak to a brick wall as they will just ignore you!!!!!
Do not use this company to finance I used them last year to Finance a motorbike and had nothing but problems with the bike as of buying it, the engine was leaking onto the back tyre the company I got the bike from fixed it 3 times and it went again so I called closes brothers to investigate, and after waiting forever they send aasseser out, who didn't even have a closes look at the bike, didnt want me to start it and didnt even want to know about the amout of times i had a problemand today they have said its fit for uses even though a mot garage says itas not and its not safe to rideso now im stuck with a bike that they refuses to help me with
I had home insurance cover with UIA for several years, at a reasonable monthly price. Then they announced that Close Bros would now be underwriting the policy. The monthly direct debits were immediately increased by 10% (no explanation was given, and I have made no claims for many years). The difference was under one pound per month but when my bank paid the old amount, I quickly received an email from Close Bros informing me that as I hadn't paid this month, I owed them the new sum (fair enough) plus a £25 penalty (do what? I have never experienced this with any creditor to whom I've set up direct debits in my 43 years on God's earth, and on several occasions for various reasons the payment wasn't made - NB not all my own doing)This penalty clause was apparently buried in the small print somewhere; they know full well that no-one has time to read all the tedious small print. There was no attempt to enquire as to the cause of the less-than-£1 shortfall, just an immediate demand for payment. Next month the same thing happened. What Close Bros seem to be unaware of (oddly, since they are in the financial business) is that a direct debit is an arrangement between the creditor and the bank. They can increase the monthly DD payment at will if they choose, taking whatever sum they wish. DDs are different from standing orders in this respect, with an SO, the account holder can control the recurring sum of money to be paid.Instead of taking the new increased sum (which was under £10 BTW) they preferred to whack me for the increased sum plus their £25 penalty.I attempted to call their 'helpline' (that's a laugh) to speak to a human; I was at work, but this was urgent. I wasted 15 minutes listening to automated messages, irritating music, alleged automated transfer to a human being, but each time I was simply cut off. Never got to speak to a customer services person and by this time their 'helpline' (moor-yah) was closed (NB I began calling well before the cut-off time). I suppose they'd all gone to a wine bar.My advice: stay well clear of Close Brothers, avoid like the proverbial plague!
