Read the fine print! And don't expect empathy, common sense or customer service from "customer servi

To be fair, I did not read all of the fine print. So, that is definitely on me. But when you get a vacation package that includes flights, hotel and car rental - intuitively, I assumed/expected this would also include parking at the hotel. $350 later - it did not. The travel package also did not include any checked bags, which I did notice. But I did not think they would be $60 per bag per person per direction. Essentially, assume an extra $500-$600 more, on top of the sticker price of your Costco Travel Vacation, and compare your options. Also, don't expect any empathy, logic or answers to your direct questions from "customer service". They share the Costco name, but do NOT share the Costco customer service. They really earn their 1.9 star review.15+ years of being a Costco Exec member, earning annual rebates... That is about to change. Costco Travel customer service was so infuriating that it has really soured my thoughts/feelings toward Costco as a whole. :(

Our Cruise Booking got cancelled

On January 27, 2025, I booked two rooms for a cruise from Barcelona to Rome. The booking was made via phone, and a $900 deposit for each room was paid using a credit card. I used my credit card to book my room, and I gave the associate the details for my brother’s card. I received two separate emails from Costco confirming the booking and a lot of other information. After the cruise booking was made, we made an airline booking from Los Angeles to Barcelona and returned home from Rome two days later. Today, when I was looking at my credit card activity, I noticed that the $900 was charged and the next day it was reversed. I was shocked. Good thing that I noticed this early enough otherwise I would have lost lots of money and no travel. Thus, I called Costco Travels today and spoke with Veronica for more than 90 minutes. At first, she was saying my conversation may not have been cleared at the first booking and that is why the booking was canceled. I told her that I did get the email from Costco confirming the booking. Veronica then reached out to Celebrities to reinstate the booking. She was successful in doing it. Now comes the payment part. Just like the previous time I first paid for my room with my credit card. However, Veronica will not accept my brother’s payment. She said he had to be with me to use his card. I told Veronica that was not the case the first time. She had no good answer. Since I was not able to make the payment for the second room right away, later on ended up paying with my card so that we do not run out of the 24-hour payment deadline.I asked Veronica if Costco had any check and balance system for their customers. We could have been stranded in Barcelona, who knows? I am just reporting what I experienced. This was my first time booking through Costco Travel and will be the last time, too.

Great family trip booked with Costco Travel

My family just returned from Punta Cana on a 1-week package booked through Costco. I am a relatively seasoned traveller so I did my homework on all the options for booking the trip. It was a bit complicated as we have 12 people in the family including 4 young grandchildren. I found the Costco travel web-site the most user friendly of any of the many travel company sites I tried. Their pricing is equal to or less than everyone else plus I received over $1200 in digital Costco cards after booking. The experience at our resort (Dreams Onyx) was outstanding and the flights and transfers all went smoothly. Costco will definitely be my #1 option for vacation packages from now on.

Terrible Experience with Costco Vacations – Avoid at All Costs!

If I could give Costco Vacations zero stars, I would. I strongly advise against using their services. Once you encounter any issues, you're completely on your own.I booked a vacation package and was assured by two separate agents that if I canceled, I would receive flight credits that I could use directly with the airline. However, after canceling and contacting the airline, I was informed that this wasn’t true—the credits were non-transferable, meaning I was stuck dealing with Costco. When I called Costco to clarify, they insisted the credits were with the airline and that I should wait for them to transfer, as it might take some time. I called the airline again, only to be told, once more, that I had to resolve the issue through Costco. After a few days, I contacted Costco again, only to be told they couldn’t locate my air credits. To make matters worse, they explained that even if I wanted to rebook flights, I would need to pay more out of pocket. This was shocking because my flight credits amounted to over $4,000. Apparently, each ticket included $550 in non-refundable taxes, as per the government. That explanation made no sense to me. The entire experience has been frustrating, misleading, and disappointing. Save yourself the headache and avoid Costco Vacations at all costs.

Marquee Club experience spoiled our trip

We spent a few days in Vegas. Stayed at Cosmopolitan. Check in was great. Suite was comfortable and spacious. The worst part of the stay was the Marquee Club experience. They wanted $750 to $1500 to get a seat near the pool. We were moved thrice. We left. Then we had to hear the deafening music that went on till 3 am. Absolutely inappropriate. We had a room on the 27th floor of Boulevard tower. If you choose Cosmopolitan ask for a room not facing the pool or club. The hotel refunded the resort fee witch should not be charged. They are upcharging for this club which is not that exclusive. Rip off.

Traveled to Cancun

Traveled to Cancun. One of the most sub par experience. Entire package booked via Costco. Would not let us use Amex will need to buy separate travel insurance. United cancelled 3 hours prior to travel. Costco was helpless not so much to collect their commission but to do anything to help. On ground partner BD experience is one of the most sub par service providers. The busses were unclean and on return we had an earlier flight available would not accommodate an early transfer request. Not the quality you come to expect from Costco. Do not book travel via Costco.

SHOOTING

We have reserved our vacation from costco travel in cancun . We have been stayed in TRS CORAL playa mujeres and it was shooting at the last day ! Oh my God, it was terrifying! I’m still in shock. I was lying on the beach when someone started shooting into the sea, where I had been just two minutes earlier. My husband and friends were still there.I lost my phone while running for safety, and the hotel staff was completely irresponsible. Shame on the hotel and Costco Travel for not ensuring the destination was safe. We paid $6,000 CAD for this traumatic experience.

Left stranded in Valencia after booking…

Left stranded in Valencia after booking a hire car through Costco/enterprise. No 24 hour helpline office hours only! So basically you are screwed if you have any issues. This left us stranded in Valencia with 2 young children at night with no solution. Enterprise were useless and said they could do nothing. It’s a scam.
