Review Time
First the good…. The staff were pleasant, friendly & worked hard trying to get all the RVs out. The not so good…I was disappointed we couldn’t pick our RV up until 4:15pm, and even more disappointed that we still had to drop it back at 9am, regardless of late pick up time. The Velcro on the curtains that went round the windscreen was hanging off/missing so you couldn’t block the light out.The sheets we had came vacuum pack so presumably newly laundered but one set was covered in stains, pretty gross. The door & drawer latches were worn, so when driving they all opened, I had to buy gaffer tape in the end as it was driving us mad! There was no plug for the sink, so hard to wash up, no washing up bowl was provided either. The ignition on the stove didn’t work. There’s a rail to hang up clothes but no coat hangers, would have been good to mention this or better still supply some, or have them available to buy.The sheets supplied were flat, as the bed is covered in vinyl for hygiene reasons, a fitted sheet would have been so much better & more comfortable, the flat sheet ended up in a ball by morning. The RV was not very clean, mirrors all smeared, potato chips under mattress, just grimy in general.Water hose leaked. Sink leaked into bottom drawer under sink. Water tank leaked when water pump on.The first night was not ideal, we arrived at our first destination really late due to late pick up, then made the bed to find gross stained sheets & food under mattress, was unable to eat what I bought to cook because we didn’t have matches to light stove with faulty ignition! Not the best start to our honeymoon! The next morning we got matches, cleaning products & I laundered the sheet, so luckily things improved!
Carson was by far the worst customer experience I have had in my whole life. From the person checking the rv in to the personal at the rental counter antagonizing me, to the disrespectful manager. I would NEVER do business with Cruise America again if Carson had been my only experience with the company.
We had a very disappointing experience with Cruise America. From the start, staff tried several times to get us to sign the paperwork without properly checking the RV, which felt wrong. When we finally received the camper, it was extremely dirty. The floor was sticky and brown, the kitchen drawers left brown residue when touched, and overall the interior was in poor condition—loose drawers, a broken microwave turntable, etc. When we pointed this out, the employee helping us said it was because her colleagues were “lazy,” but she made no effort to get the RV cleaned. On top of that, the towels and linens we rented were unacceptable: stained, with yellow marks, burn holes, and even black hairs in the washcloths. We told Cruise America the condition of the RV and linens was unacceptable, but were simply told that no other RVs were available since each customer is pre-assigned a specific vehicle. As we had a long drive ahead and needed to reach our destination before dark, we reluctantly took the RV and ended up buying our own towels and sheets. At drop-off at another location, we again shared our experience, but the response was just “sorry to hear about that,” with no attempt to make things right. The lack of cleanliness, the poor state of the RV, the condition of the rented linens, and the dismissive customer service made this an awful experience. It was clear that Cruise America staff simply didn’t care. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for RV rentals.
We rented RV from cruise America. We picked it up in Lake Elsinore, California. It was a very easy transaction and we were on our way. To Idaho, the people that ran the lake elsinore cruise america were very nice and helpful. They told us that we had five hundred dollars coming back to us for the cleaning deposit. They told my husband. It would be put back on the card 3to5 business days. But we had a small problem. My husband lost our credit card on our trip and we had to get emergency one. We let them know that the credit card number had changed and that for us to call the billing department and explain to them what happened, because all of their deposits come back through the billing department. So I called.Back to cruise america's 18 hundred number and they told me that the billing department does not have a phone number and you cannot reach them by phone, you have to email them so I did. I waited about 5 days because I had not heard from them yet.And I called back and they told me it would take anywhere from 7to2 ten days for them to return emails. It's been 13 days now.And I haven't heard anything from them yes, i don't know how they can run a business like this where you can't contact the billing department by phone to be able to resolve problems, this is no way to run a business or to the wise.If you're waiting for your deposit.Good luck you may never get it back.Charles Pino
The tank was only half full when picked up. No propane. Refrigerator was rusted with peeling shelves. One missing bucket and no shelf on top for fruits and veggies. Shower had foot prints when picked up. Shelves inside dirty (onion skins, coffee grounds, and other crumbs) and some very dusty. Tire pressure light came on after we left the lot. Had to replace one wiper when we drove into rain storm and couldn’t see from driver side. We swapped until we found a place to buy one then swapped them back.
I was offered several options for pick up. My plan is not complete so I was called this morning and asked if I wanted to pick up a day earlier which may help me take my time to arrive at my destination rather than go with the holiday rush and J appreciate that.
