Emerates terrible customer service

I’ve been trying to get a refund for four months after an inflight complaint over extra legroom seats which actually weren’t. I’ve spoken three times to customer services and they even walked me through the process and gave me a reference to use. Each time it comes back with a different name and says to reapply even though Emerates are giving me the data. Further to that the customer services team put me on hold and I could hear the lady on the call swearing. Absolutely disgusting service.

Survey Response to EmiratesTravel SYD – DXB Business Class DXB – JNB 1st Class 25th February 2025 Membership Tier: Gold Travelling with my partner.Lost Baggage JNBA2****** A******* Input: Johannesburg @ 19:15 26th February 2025.We have been loyal Emirates Travelers for years as stopped flying Qantas in 1998 due to unacceptable service. First of all, I spoke to an Indian lady today NOT Malcom. This was verified by E***** the Supervisor who called me within an hour of my first call to Emirates he also advised that he would escalate this enquiry and apologized numerous times that this was unacceptable service.She was a good listener I asked if she could finalise this today but was unable to, she stated that she contacted the office in Johannesburg and they would contact me. So, I then asked if I could speak to her direct supervisor she came back and advised the supervisor would call me back sometime today. Emirates Fly Better (I don’t think so). This call took 25 minutes.Our 3.5 week holiday was ruined and is now over we have been home for 3 weeks. This enquiry has been ongoing for (31) Working Days as of today 10th April 2025.Emirates offers Interim Relief (IR) compensation to all customers who have travelled to and from the US who have reported a missing piece of baggage. Interim Relief: IR is also offered to passengers who have travelled on other routes when no baggage is received (excluding residents). We went to your Johannesburg Office with necessary documents but did not receive any compensation. My partner had Diabetic Test kit and medication also a CPAP machine with accessories needed on a daily basis.How does Emirates find delayed baggage?When baggage is delayed, our team does everything possible to locate it.During the first seven days we undertake ‘primary tracing’ – where we liaise with all the stations involved on the journey, conduct physical checks, investigate with our Security and Lost and Found teams, and check the ramp and store areas, in order to have items back with passengers as soon as possible.If the baggage hasn't been located within seven days, we conduct intensive 'secondary tracing'. During this stage, we carry out thorough checks within all airports and with all airlines. We begin this process as soon as the customer completes the Baggage Inventory form and provides us with all required documents. We gave C****** B**** from Emirates Sales Support Johannesburg a PDF document with Baggage Inventory that she stated would be sufficient and would input into the system that was on 5th March 2025 same day and person we had requested compensation (IR) from. Then on the 15th March 2025 @ 8:27pm 10 days later was advised by her that the PDF cannot be accepted and that we were required to input the details, we were travelling to my 3-day Emirates Experience Stopover in Dubai so we completed this on the 20th March 2025 once home advising C****** the same. This final check will be completed within (10) ten working days. Well, it is now 10th April 2025 (15) working days after being accepted by Emirates.We undertake extensive tracking to reunite passengers with their bags. In the unfortunate incident that baggage is declared as lost, we will contact you in order to provide compensation.Please advise when this enquiry will be finalised.I know this will NOT be done as previously have never received any feedback.Will update once receive response from Emirates.

Outrageously bad

Outrageously Discriminatory Treatment & Inadequate RefundI am appalled by the shockingly poor treatment my associate experienced on Emirates. Despite having a valid Business Class ticket (Reference No. 176-2093670213) and being a seasoned traveler with other major airlines, he was thrown off the flight on the outrageous assumption that he could not use the lavatory unaided—simply because he has one leg. This was a humiliating and utterly discriminatory move on Emirates’ part.What’s worse, they offered only a partial refund, forcing him to book another expensive flight at the last minute. This deeply unprofessional behavior shows a complete disregard for passengers with disabilities. I strongly urge everyone to think twice before booking with Emirates if you expect any level of dignity, respect, or customer care.**Rating:** 1/5 (only because 0 stars isn’t an option)

Do not fly with Emirates

We are a family of 5 . After checking in online 24 hours before , at the check in desk after queuing for more than one hour at Dubai airport we were told flight is full . Imagine our stress levels and anxiety , we had connecting transport waiting in London to get us to our home town of Bristol. After complaining Emirates offered free flights for a return trip to Dubai if we didn’t board which we declined as our 3 boys had work / college the next day . Eventually Emirates found us 5 seats which presumably meant 5 other travellers yet to check in were disappointed !!!!! I have been in communication with Emirates who have confirmed the flight is deliberately overbooked and they do not offer any compensation . I will never ever fly with Emirates again , I recommend alternative operators for flights to and from London to Dubai . ( PY /Bristol)

Paid expensive business class ticket. US$ 2.700 additional to economy. Seat broken. No adjustment possible. Sat upright for eight hours. Compensation offered US $ 250 rebate if booking again. Never.

Dead arse

Flight times were ok, met schedule etc. service was nice from the hosts. The one thing I came to complain about was the seats. I had two long hauls between Sydney and London. After a little while that seat in four different planes (with connections) gave me a dead arse!

I am absolutely disgusted

I am absolutely disgusted by the experience booking with Emirates.My mother has had to bring her flight forward by two weeks due to her twin brother being rushed in to hospital and is on life support. Emirates have charged an extra £300 for these changes which is disappointing.

4 hour delay & then dumped in Dubai

Our initial flight (at 8pm) was delayed for 4 hours, whilst everyone was stuck on the plane, due to an issue with the fuel injectors. Hardly any communication throughout, only being told “we were going back to stand”, which sounded to us like we’d be getting off the plane, therefore adding to the frustration of everyone stuck for such a long duration. This delay meant we missed our connecting flight (also with emirates) which they rearranged for roughly 18 hours later and therefore put us in a hotel. Only they shipped us off to a hotel in the middle of Dubai who weren’t expecting us and so, wouldn’t admit us. No emirates staff around to help and they ultimately left us sat in the lobby for nearly 3 hours with no communication before finally picking us up and taking us to another hotel! I managed to get the hotel to ring the emirates desk at Dubai airport and was met with a “representative” who flat out refused to speak to me, despite the fact they’d just sent me, my wife and my 3 year old daughter to a hotel who wouldn’t admit us, with no money, food or water. They would only speak to the hotel staff despite the fact I’d paid them £2.5k for some flights and was their actual customer! I also tried emirates chat who told me “they can’t help with hotel bookings”. I’ve of course raised a complaint with emirates who, as of 17/02 still haven’t bothered to respond and there’s basically no means of contacting this company. Beyond shambolic.
